One of the best thing to learn new vocabulary is the frequency of the vocabulary that you have encountered. The more you repeat and use them in meaningful context the more likely you learn them.@HoaNguyen-jj4ve
Like Phil, I only know 4 flavors including sweet, salty, sour and bitter. But now I know we have the fifth flavor which is umami. It is also the first time I have heard about it. Thanks BBC
We're glad we could help. Quick tip - In your last clause you've used the present perfect so you need to use a past participle. 'learn' should be 'learnt' 😊

I love bitter food, I like orange juices and tonic water. I didn't know that it could benefit our health. It is always possible to learn something new with these videos. Many thanks BBC Learning English
My father is really keen on bitter melon. He can eat that kind of vegetable almost everyday and he tells us that bitter melon is so good for our health. There are some benefits such as interacting with gut microbiome, controlling glucose release, suppressing feeling of hunger and even countering chronic inflammation. However, my mom doesn’t like bitter melon as it is too bitter to her and it becomes her undesirable trait. She couldn’t resist when she feels the bitterness on the tip of her tastebuds. From my point of view, bitter food is really mainstream and we are exposed to it way more than we can envisage such as chocolate, coffee, etc
I think most people don't like bitter food bcz it doesn't taste delicious. However, many research found a remarkable link between bitter food and its benefits for health like it suppresses hunger feeling, controls over glucose release, and it has an incredible ability to interact with our microbiomes to make the digestive process easier.I thought that we don't used to eat any kind of bitter food anymore, but it turns out that there are mainstream bitter food. For instance, coffee and chocolate.
I'm no expert, but in nature bitterness serves as a warning sign, something to avoid, something not safe to consume. Alternatively, sweetness is, by and large, a good sign of safety in terms of consumption. Having said that, I'm fond of the bitter taste found in beer, coffee and some vegetables.
😊 'I can't quite remember' means 'I can't fully or completely remember something'. So, 'quite' softens the meaning of 'not remembering' - similar to saying 'I'm not sure I can remember'. You can find more ways to use 'quite' in this video here: th-cam.com/video/t3J5UTeGE_I/w-d-xo.html
