A few years ago i was sendentary person. i spent a lot of time at home, on cell phone, watching tv and doing activities that didn't require movement. That cause me some problems, but now im healthy person and i excersice every day. I feel Good.
I know the disadvantages of sitting for a long period of time, but sometimes busy work schedule in an offfice drives me towards sitting down too much. Thanks BBC ❤
I have some tips for you. First, you stand up and stretch your body in about 20 seconds after an hour of sitting. Then, you might need to have a cup of water and take a deep breath before you're back to work

I like 6-minute English videos. Unfortunately, I spent many hours sitting down working, but I'm aware of the risks, so I try to walk a little each hour to stimulate blood circulation. Thanks, BBC
Your podcasts are such a help for those who wrestle with learning. But it could be much more better if you can show the spelling of the words said as vocabulary just to make sure we've written it in the correct way. Thanks you for doing the effort of short lessons

I have less time to go outside and play sports as I grow up. A couple of days ago, I went out to help my grandfather work in the field. I stood up and did physical activity, broke a sweat for the first time in a while. The work was hard, but I was so happy to bathe in the sun and move my feet and arms. I want to go out and bathe in the sun to keep my good health.
Thank you . Stagnation of blood in some organs of our body , pooling of blood in lower extremities, developing shortness and stiffness in limb muscles and developing fatigue in axial muscles , poor pastures in neck and shoulders are all disadvantages of prolonged sitting.
Vocablary...1 engineer something means design or plan in such a way . Phrase is this much and so much means ...large amount Blood circulation means the movement of blood to heart vessels carries oxygen around the body . Phrase ... to drive someone means to put someone into situation

sometimes we have to sit too much because we have no choice. Sitting down for more than 30 minutes makes me feel a bad pain in my lower back. Standing for a long time is not good for me as well. This video emphasizes the disadvantages of sitting too much. Thank you for these useful videos. I listened to it 3 times.
I'm now a freelancer and online teacher which means that I have to sit in front of the laptop over 7 hours per day. I know that this isn't healthy so I try my best to lead a more active lifestyle by falling in love with Running. Everyday when I get up, the fist important thing I do is to go running around the park for about 5 kilometers. After that, I have breakfast, go home take a cold shower and then start my life. I hope that this solution will help me have a better as well as a more active life.
Thank you very much bbc for these podcast , l am a physical therapy student in the first level , and I am trying to learn english to understand my subject in my faculty.
Physical exercise has been engineered out of life as sitting down is more popular nowadays. It reduces blood circulation leading to heart diseases. Even if you want to move your muscles and spend less time in sitting, you cannot swim against the tide. Because everything is geared around, driving us towards sedentary life.
Thank you for class. These days, we sit on a chair for a long time due to online classes, commuting school and so on. So I think it is an important problem for me.
I think you can use quick videos to show what are you talking about instead of only one image for the whole 6 minutes. That could be helpful for understanding what's going on at the moment.
once i spent 12-14 hour a day in my study for getting a chance autonomous University of my country. This is great to know you that i've got this & naw i'm trying to away myself from such a bad habit like sitting on the study table whole day.
It is about 2 consecutive months that I am just staying at home, and I am just studying English. The bad thing is here that I don't go outside. After about 58 days, I decided to play footsall with my friends, and you know what, after the game, it is about 3 days that I have some pains in all my muscles😢
I am a child. In the morning, I have to take the bus to go school. Then I have to sit almost 9 hours a day to study. During this time, i can use the break time to stand up and play sports. Finally, I go to school and sit down on the sofa and watching TV. After that, i still sit down to study. I sit a lot in a day. I am a little bit worried, but i can't change it ! Can you give me some advice'
I was sitting down while listening to this video and reading the subtitles, the whole 6 minutes plus advertisements. 😐 By the way, I have set my laptop to alarm every 30 minutes, to remind me to stand up and take a few steps. 🚶♂
I have seen the disadvantages of setting too much. A year ago , I spent my entire day and night setting and scrolling on my cellphone. That time I realized that my body was getting into abnormal condition. Additionally, I suffered from anxiety. I know that this was cuze of oversetting that drove me towards that condition
Students in Vietnamese always sit every day. Specially they sit from morning to evening because they have to do homework. Therefore, I think students in Vietnam sit about 8h a day😢
I know an old woman who is over ninety years old. She said that the key to keep her health healtier than other old people is to extend the time not to sit. Even she stands up while eating lunch. I was shocked and after that I try to do that life habit. 😂😂
By siting a person reduce energy level and proliferates glucose and fat apart from it, 6 minutes english drives a mechanism of feeding new information and vocab on different topics.

However, standing up too much is bad for our health too. We need proper balance.
I don’t understand this. What percent people are standing too much in the modern world? What does it mean "standing too much"?
@@ArnHaz there are people working standing for hours in assembly line in factories
@@maelula6893 Thanks. But I think the video is addressing general population. The imbalance is more towards sitting, not standing.
