The clicking with the knees has to do with how your height is set up in the game. If I put my real height in vrc, the knees click in place and my legs are completely straightend out, if I look upwards lay down etc. But if I raise it 5cm or so above my real height then that fixes it because it lower me down a little so the knees in a more natural position and don't click.
I’m definitely down to go over a video on that!! Thank you for the suggestion I currently use XSOverlay, I haven’t tried out any other options though^^
A problem I have with Standable is the elbows. My elbows always look like shit when I'm standing so I disable the elbow tracker in the menu. at the same time though, I have yet to do any research on fixing it due to being lazy. Another thing is whenever I disable all of the trackers I disappear for a few minutes for all of my friends. Also, your avatar is very cute!
Yeahh, my elbows are a bit odd for Standable too. I don’t think it was really visible in the video, but sometimes they do freak out a tiny bit. For me, I think I need to mess with the offsets in settings a bit so it’s more in-line with my real elbows. If you haven’t yet, I’d recommend checking out the official Standable Setup Guide! It’s a bit long, but it helped be understand it a ton more
i would like to add that if ur using 3 laser tracking trackers like (vives, or tundra) to put the hip tracker to the side of ur hip since occlusion would rarely happen due to basically nothing occluding the hip tracker even when trying to lean c:
It's interesting to see this being displayed this way. A lot of the times I've seen Standable being shown as this end all be all for "FBT" (EvenThoughItIsntFBT) for "free". For corrections though, it makes me think of stuff like tracker smoothing. It may not be of much use for someone like me who's dived into the rabbitholes of DIY Slimes, but there's folks out there that could make use of this 🤔
Yeahh, I’ve seen a lot of people calling it along the lines of “AI Trackers”, and it definitely is not that at all. It’s just a better estimation that’s also kinda mixed with something like GoGo Loco (since it auto-transitions poses better, and there’s adjustable options for sitting/laying). Still very good for what it is though! Also ooh nice! I wish you the best on your DIY Slimes journey^^
It actually has a use with Slimes as there is an option to take only rotation data from the associated tracker. In case of IMUs it means it doesn't care about drift anymore. Rotations don't drift.
@@ethanchristensen6199 Kinda true, yes. Where do you think the drift comes from? It comes from accumulating calculation error in IK. Even though the IMU does not provide positional information, the slime server calculates those and fills in for the steam VR to use. So with Standable the rotation data from Slimes could drastically improve the prediction accuracy.
Great video! The music got a bit loud at the begining, at around 0:45 so it was a bit harder to follow you talking, but this was likely just the world being.. well, the world. still something that could have been better though! Apart from that, absolutely great comparison! I run three vive 3.0's right now myself and have been thinking about upgrading to more trackers. Do you have any issues with the vive 3.0's on your elbows? Many seem to recommend Tundra's for the elbows specifically.
I don't know 100% for sure, but I would think yes! As long as the tracking data is getting sent to SteamVR and not to something like VRChat through OSC everything should work just as shown in the video^^ I don't have Ultimate Trackers to test this currently, but I do know there's support for other trackers such as Slimes for example.
i use 3 vive trackers and my tracking isnt that good for some reason but i think the 3 trackers with standable looks really good, im definitely gonna try it out
Let me know how it goes!! 2 other things I recommend specifically for Vive trackers is resetting SteamVR (guide here: steamcommunity.com/app/250820/discussions/2/1640917625015598552/), then connect pair controllers. After this, plug in 1 dongle, and pair 1 vive tracker.Repeat this till they are all paired. After that, make sure to turn on your controllers/trackers in the same order you paired them in! Both of these fixed a ton of tracking issues for me. SteamVR is a bit picky sometime lol
@@alpine__fox alright thanks for the tips! I gotta wait until I have enough to actually buy standable tho because it’s $20 lol but yeah thanks for showing this off (ps. I love your avatar, it’s really cute lol)
Would this work any good with the Kinect 360? I've used the kinect for years, adn honestly its pretty good for $20! :D Im wondering weather this will be any good with it, especially with the jitter you may get if the kinect is struggling to see you at your current angle.
Oooh that’s a really good idea! What app do you use to use full-body with the Kinect? I got one lying around I should be able to give it a shot with sometime^^
@@alpine__foxi used to use driver 4 vr, but switched to Amithist over 6 months back and havent looked back. You can enable knee tracking and freeze the tracking, 2 things driver cant do (freezing is good if you wanna sit in a not well tracked pose and it wont jitter about ^-^). Amathist is on the official Microsoft store. My only downside to it is for some reason, sometimes it takes 10 tries to calibrate, say you calibrate... It tracks perfect.... BUT its rotated 170° upside down 2 meaters floating above you xD not sure why it does that sometimes, but i just needa keep trying and eventurly it will work :) Amithist is also free! ^-^ I have my kinect positioned at about chest hight 3 and a bit meaters infront of me on my desk, but apparently it works in a lot of other diffrent placements fine too! ^-^ You do need an addapter too, so it can power itself and plug into your pc (as the pc cant supply enough power for it), those are usally about $10 on amazon. Good luck in testing it 👉😊👉 (extra fun fact! You can play in the dark with the kinect on, since it shines a waaaallll of ir lights onto you/the room. @@alpine__foxwe use K2VR now. It's open source, easy to calibrate and it has pretty nice interface. Would be cool if you try using this with kinect v1 and v2
I’ll have to try Virtual Desktop’s again! When I have previously, the virtual trackers just were staying still, regardless of how I moved. If I can get it working properly I’ll do a more-proper comparison between the two!
100 to 144hz is a pretty small jump, I honestly can’t tell the difference either. I got a 240hz for my main monitor now, and can honestly hardly tell the difference from 165hz (it feels smoother, but I can’t see it if that makes sense). Some of my other friends that got 240hz it’s a night and day difference though, so I think it just depends on the person a ton.
Honestly I would say just save up the money for the 7900XTX. The 7900GRE is a worse card, having 16gb of VRAM vs the XTX’s 24gb which makes a decent difference in VRC. Also it is down clocked, so the GRE is more comparable to the 7800XT performance wise. If you want to stay in the same price tier, get the 7800XT, but if you want a 7900 buy the XTX
