    "You've lost a lot of blood, piglet."
    So much alternate meanings behind this line. Her "dying flower" comment afterwards sounded too harsh for me at first, but now I realize that it's her way of telling Yennefer to give herself a break and stop pressuring herself so much because it's going to keep sabotaging her ability to grow.

    i love this scene ! it perfectly establishes how magic works in this world in a dramatic scene that is also fun to watch.
    this is an example of this show brilliantly demonstrating certain parts of the story or the world building ( when it wants to 🤦🏻‍♂️)

    technically she did warn them; 'Between your flower and your stone lies the balance' they just chose to focus on the stone and ignore the flowers.
    though when the girl said about Fringilla's hand special effects didn't start until the camera focused on the hand so how did the girl know there was something wrong when Fringilla's hand looked normal?

      Pretty sure she thought she could absorb the life of the flower by eating it instead of just draining it through magic since the drain method wasn’t working.

    Chaos is a mystical force to which Mages use to manipulate reality in the form of spells. The source of their magic is chaos,it's not chaos magic but chaos is the source from which their magic is born.

      yes in their world, chaos is an abstract "force" that seems to fuel magic. it's easy to misinterpret or correlate it with DC or MARVEL's chaos magic.

      @@hihi615 I know, but it's not the case in TW. The only cost is the one you will pay if you draw too much energy or too fast. Which is the reason fire is forbidden to most mages, it give too much too easily and it's easy to be overwhelmed.
      They should have respected the rules on which the universe of the show is based on.

If I remember books correctly they literally can take magic from any element (if skilled enough, technically water is safest and easiest, fire is most risky, earth and air are hard). They don't have to make bouquet every time they want to lift stone 5 cm for 2 seconds as for more powerful spells aka most of spells in Witcher lore they would have to sacrifice at least one medium tree.
      You'e forgot that you CAN endanger yourself by using fire as source and Wizards are infertile (but Signs are possible to cast by any person w/o that problem as a cost). But no other costs

    "You’ve lost a lot of blood Piglet" I now see that she was trying to be nice saying Yennefer probably couldn’t muster much power since her body was still recovering. Also, took me awhile to realize she was insulting her to prepare her at others who would try to do the same, sorta like to try and thicken her skin.

      @@blastermasterguy also they is an important lesson in chaos. It’s a bit traumatic but that’s the point to make sure that no bigger injuries are made when they are able to perform more powerful sorcery.
      Its a small sacrifice for the assurance that they won’t have to sacrifice something bigger later

      lol, but to be fair, in the world of witcher sorceress or sorcerer had a limit about using magic, that's why it s true that scarlet witch is more powerful than any sorceress or sorcerer from the witcher. but if we put yennefer into mcu she probably more superior than agatha harkness, doctor strange, and wong. so pls don't mentioned here the scarlet witch bc her magic is op.

      I don't know exactly the limits of sorcerer. the mages can do pretty much what scarlet Witch did, create fake realities, create life from nothing, move literal mountains (though the last one required a D'ao), move through time and space (though only elves and elder blood inheritor seems to be capable of that yet). They don't seems to have any limits.
      If Yennefer is more powerful than Doctor Strange, then Enid, Avalla'ch and Vilgefortz are on the level of scarlet witch.

    I mean, I know they had to see it, but she could have demonstrated with the flower... I believe that would have also been an effective lesson.....

    This is why the Scarlet Witch's chaos magic is just so powerful. Chaos does not harm her, it serves her. It does not require balance or meticulous control, she's a being of simultaneous creation, as long as Wanda wills it, it would happen.

      This is a whole different universe. Magic in The Witcher is much different from chaos magic in Marvel. Yes, both involve chaos, but they don't have the same rules or capabilities. There are powerful forces and magics in the MCU not centered around chaos at all, while in The Witcher, most of them are.

      They did. Hence 3 dying to make chaos bombs. The guys who used the fog/mist also disintegrated. Yennifer unleashing the hell fire at the end (probably not dead cuz shes op) but they did go by this. Chaos magic takes when it gives

      @@Benzonian612 no it doesn't. Magic doesn't take and doesn't give. Mages drawn it from the elements but there is no give back. that rule is completely invented by the show. You think anyone would want to use magic if any powerful spell result in your death? there is rules, and restrictions but mages don't risk their life every times they shoot a fireball. Unless they mess up their incantations or gestures. In fact, there is more risk teleporting than creating a mist. Because something could be left behind.

      Because in proper Witcher lore they use elements as a sources. Usually water as far as I remember (safe and relatively easy) but with proper skills they can use earth or air. So yes, she had power source

      remember whe she cut her wrist, but she still alive, it because tissasia saved her but yennefer lost a lot of blood when she cut her wrist, yennefer can't use a magic for a week because she lost of blood.
      and thats whats wrong with yennefer, when she always got wounded she always struggling to use her magic, and remember when yennefer saved the baby in episode 4, the assassin throw a knife on her and got stabbed on her shoulder, on that time yennefer lost a lot of blood too, thats why yennefer was too late to save the baby with her magic. she's struggling using magic when she always got wounded.
