Thanks!!!
Love that you keep calling him monster lewis so casually
I don't even know if Monster has a double bass pedal.
Monster Lewis is his legal name. Dude does his research.
@@michaelmillican5592 monster Lewis needs no such thing… he hits the bass pedal and the drum sounds twice. Only when he wants it too though.
Some kits make it hard to smoosh the toms together. I have a pearl kit like that.
We all have the right to our own identity. Just respect. 🙂 \m/
After you do the "ONE TWO FUCK YOU!" you can still do the "FUCK YOU THREE FOUR!"
FUCK ME THREE FOUR
Hahahaha then, ONE FUCK THREE YOU, and on and on, really explore the space and have fun with it
It has to rhyme though, how about "YOU WHORE THREE FOUR!". Or just replace all of them with something like "FUN POO PEE FLOOR!"
Why NOT?
Don't forget the "ONE TWO THREE FUCK!"
Dunc (Duncan, not Ducan!) and Sean are old pals of mine. Nice lads, and I think it's cool that they're still putting themselves out there.
I unironically can't get this out of my head. All day I've been singing to myself "hell on earth, that's what it's like"
Walking on the blade of LIFE!
Wash your back.
@@jeffp.7598 After you wash her a**hole
I would seriously like to hear these guys in a proper studio with maybe a little coaching from a producer. This could be a really fun new take on metal. It's hard to imagine the impact from a recording like this.
The lead singers name is Duncan Barker just to clarify.
The fact that they misspelled the singer's name just makes it even MORE hilarious. hehe.
not "Dyou-c'n"? you know, rhyming with 'pukin'"
Bunkan Darker
Shows that the old adage "you're only as good as your drummer" is true.
Like in blackened how it sounds like a completely different song at the end even tho the guitarists aree basically playing the same riff as the main riff.
@@prometheustv6558 Yea but that’s true for any song where the drummer switches things up
Yes it is kinda true. Mike proved it here. When Mike dubbed his drum parts into the song I noticed a big improvement.
@@prometheustv6558 That's only one of the many reasons why Lars is one of the greatest drummers and I don't need to be a drummer to know this.
I think its more like you're only as good as your weakest link. You can have the best drummer in the world, but if you have a shitty bassist he will pretty much ruin the whole rhythm section.
Lead singers got that Tom and jerry scream
LMAO
You mean when the lady jumps on a chair, after seeing Jerry? 😆 so random, but applicable.
She would always beat the hell outta Tom, and kick him out the house, with Jerry waving.
😂😂😂
ROFL 😂
I just read this comment as the guy sang ATTAAACK and now I'm crying. Fuck me, what an astute observation.
I'm confused by the "Rhythm Guitarist" title. Where is his guitar?
He's a master at rhythm air guitar. He had a tummy ache this recording so he skipped it.
Probably only comes out on songs that need it.
Do not think you make too many of these! I can't wait til the next one every time! Love these, and you're critiques are spot on. Scared to offer up my band LOL.
Dude, I actually want to hear your full version of it. That tiny bit you did sounded great!
This series is the best ❤
It really is. He does it with taste and respect. And it's very good entertainment.
When you re-recorded parts of the song it caught me by surprise. The song recorded properly actually sounds pretty damn catchy.
They're still together. Duncan plays drums for them, now, and they added a new singer. They do have better gear now.
Ducan*
@@yledbetter10rob42 TH-cam says: "Translate to: English". So I click on it. And then it says "Pregnant*".
Uhh... thank you, youtube?
Only ONE man in history ever pulled off the “skullet”. Ben Franklin. No one else should ever attempt it!
@@KCCheez 2000s Devin Townsend did it better.
Kim Mitchell (Patio Lanterns) has a similar ‘cut’. Makes him look like a pedo or mass murderer.
Move over Toxic Waltz, we now have the Ducan Dance.
The fix this band series is 100% my favourite piece of content you make!
You do such a great job constructively critiquing without coming across as mean.
This Metal band has some serious "garage Punk band" vibes! The way the singer danced during the solo just killed me!
"WAWN TOO FUH KYOO" 😂
The riff kept reminding me of when Doug learned to play guitar in King of Queens lol. "Doug and Carrie, Doug and Carrie, Doug and Carrie"
Arthur Arthur Arthur Arthur
I know these guys ,ants is lovely , bass is his life , he learned to play bass to join band
I know Ants as well, cracking lad.
They all seem really great guys
Good to see a fellow bassist getting the recognition he deserves 👏🏻
Youre absolutely right. I think one of the most important things at least while on stage, is confidence. Even if you suck you gotta be in to it. If you dont believe it the crowd wont believe it.
@TheArtofGuitar This is awesome! Loving this! That is a pretty badass riff they have there, I totally agree it sounds like Hashpipe, which I will probably have in my head today now haha. Have definitely seen several bands like this play in pubs/ bars over the years, always a fun time, just to hear some live music.
Hash pipe is now firmly stuck in my head!
I actually know the bass player, they live in my hometown and he's a super great dude. their still going I believe! always slightly reminded me of venom
"The glue holding them together isn't quite dry yet" You hit the nail on the head, Mike. I always had this feeling about local bands but couldn't put it into words that didn't come off as rude in some capacity.
I think this is 4 dude’s that used to hit all the concerts and bars back in their day, maybe some of them played in a bar band. And now they are 40 something ‘s that get together and remember the time’s and jam out just for the fun of it and once in a while come up with something that makes them feel good.! No stress just trying to play for the good feeling . Like this is what they do on their Saturday nights. Now that they are older , got kids about out of the house and been slugging away at a job for the last 20 years. And they are the crazy uncle’s that jam instead of hitting the bar’s looking to do crazy stuff.!!! 👍🏻😜
You made that riff sound so cool. It is a good riff. The gallop is badass.
You can not make enough of these FTB vids. As a solo acoustic performer, I have no one to fall back on if I make a mistake, so I try to learn as much as I can to avoid those situations. You're videos are helpful and use your advice when I play live. Keep it up!
the count-in always kills me.
my new favorite band
First time I've seen your Fix the Band series. I like it. Now I want to check out the rest of them. Very Cool!
Man, these videos are so great. I have learned so many of the important little things that can help a band perform. You are the man, dude!
Maybe they pretended to be in a band and going to rehearsal once a week but what they were really doing was hanging out and have some beer. But one day their wives wanted some proof and so they had to record something.
😂😂 love this.
That sliding techique from the intro sounds best on the wound strings, the grinding divebomb in the background from sliding the pick is somewhat missing when you do it on the unwound ones.
wound, so the low strings you mean?.
@@thac0twenty377 yes
Mike I love this series! I play in a dad band in Minnesota and your advice is spot on.
“It’s a level that’s hard to pull out of.” I can testify to that!
Love this series.. 🍿
I really like that you offer constructive criticism. Better than what a lot of people do on amateur band videos where the comments are you suck. To me I wish you were available when I was playing. It is better to get advice then trying to make changes from within. From within always seems to evoke push back. Thank you so much for sharing this!!
I love this series so much
The dry humor is my favorite part lol
Love this episode! I know Ants the bass player, really super nice guy. Just some guys playing some tunes and why not. More power to them 🤘
These are my favorite videos! Great job pinpointing the problem areas.
Brother, you are very generous in your commentary. Keep up the good work.
Love this series, don’t comment too much on youtube but this channel deserves it
love this series especially your humor and when you demonstrate what you're talking about on the instrument
I just discovered your "Fix This Band" series and I love it! These videos are hilarious. I can't wait to see the next one!
the 80s jazzercise insert put coffee through my nose
What’s up man, just started my guitar journey. Very excited to learn some of my favorite stuff! Btw I’m from mn as well
I saw guitarist Rick Derringer use the "over the neck/downslide fret hammer ons" back in the 80's. I think EVH did it at the US Festival too. The bassist looks like the 70's version of (the great) Doobies/Steely Dan guitarist Jeff "Skunk" Baxter.
I absolutely love this band!
Ravenheart is the perfect name for Krazy Uncle Band.
I thought it was a pretty good original song especially for their capabilities at that time. Another great video in this series.
I would totally go see these guys live
Subscribed to this channel because of the dry humor as well ... Mike and Samurai guitarist's are talented and funny guys also ....
They are having fun. I have seen bands like this actually doing paying gigs.keep at it guys.
I don't know why but I love this series. I don't even have a band.
I remember this popping up in my feed back in the day.
This song really grew on me as the video progressed. These guys do not suck. I'd go see them.
Think he's saying "you're dying on the blade of a knife" at the end of the chorus
This band definitely has a unique quality, song is good I think!!
This reminds me of the chorus to "The Evil That Men Do" by Maiden a little.
Kind of a fun tune, I love the singer's ambition!
last fix a band was almost a month ago. I wouldn't call that "recently"
fun video once again man. thanks for the amazing content :)
Another great critique. Best so far. Great series and your comments are always delivered with positivity.
man i love playing the guitar
Snare sound is really good. For this space
I love the name C.U.M for the band. It just rolls off the tongue.
I agree, that riff is pretty sweet (And kinda addicting to play too lol)
You have a great concept for a youtube channel here, and you are very funny. You avoid sarcasm, (which is good) but your analysis can be quite funny in an honest, insightful commentary kind of way. I am a sub.
i like the name Ravenheart they’re a cool band they need to tighten up their music and the singer has to control his voice good singer too maybe get some good gear amp wise guitar player is good awesome lead too
thank you mike for another awesome video
What's there to fix? These guys are on another level. Bringing back the (very) rough edges of rock-n-roll in this world of perfect playing, over pro-tooled and processed music! No need for meaningful lyrics, you just need words to fit the beat! 🤣
I just love these videos
Ho no... there aren't too many
Your advices are good
And your approach is spot on
I love the way you share these with an education puspose
..
You are doing a marvellous job here.
Just a heads up, the lineup has changed since this video. The singer is now the drummer and they have a new singer. I've exchanged the odd email with them. Good dudes just having some fun. Oh, also you should use and link to the original video on their page, not to a video by some disrespectful prick trying to shame them.
That's fine if you just did one, you can do as many of these as you like they're the best!
Im totally starting a crazy uncle band now.
For some reason the way the guy sings reminds me of the old game Grand Theft Auto 2 that had a song with a lyrical line "Taxi drivers must DIIIIEEEE!!!"
When i was playing in a band, i would of loved you to go over our stuff. Constructive criticism always works.
the solo and the song idea is awesome
This was a great episode.
I loved this. Glad I found your channel. I think RavenHeart put a spell on me. I keep on hearing that guitar riff over & over in my head. Was walking through the kitchen & I heard it again. I'm beyond intrigued how you found this video. Do you think they're still together? I said that with an upper inflection at the end. Ha., You were actually very kind & helpful. Would love to see one of the band members in the comments. If they show up, you've got to pin it. Good job...
I cant help but hear " My Sharona " in that riff
😂
9:23 doing the dance of Leonard Philips from The Dickies xD
Holy shit this was hilarious, yet so informative. By far my favorite series on this channel. I also love when you show how to play songs as well.
Another great critique. As a guitarist, I’m with you, get a 2x12 with a good quality tube head & the sound will be awesome. Rock on Ravenhead \../
I think Trogdor the Burnanator should be the mascot for this band.
The Drunkles
On the RavenHeart TH-cam page, they mentioned that the building they rehearse in is an old school.
love this series
Love this series, Mike! Thank you!
Anyone ever watch Shooting Stars on BBC (UK TV)? Vic Reeves sings in the club style, and then Bob Mortimer says “….and now let’s hear it sung properly?”
I’ve heard several of this bands tunes and this is exactly what it reminds me of. 😂😂😂😂.
I'd love to hear from this band. Did they ever gig?
"1 2 (beep) YOU" got me rolling on the floor
I kinda like these guys! Rock on, brothers!
awesome breakdowns. . .. hooked. . .. gonna go back and binge watch the series. . .. stay metal 🤘
All throughout the video I've been having that image of Quorton recording Raise the dead with the rest of Bathory for a 45 rpm vinyl release after a night spent binging, then selecting 33 rpm on the player.
This is just the captain of a pirate ship getting the boat's only instrument owners together on shore leave.
So many things to say lol. But I'll just say the bass tone is badass.
Love your positivity
Man, if I ever had a band I would hire you to produce our album
Monster Lewis wouldn’t need any double bass pedal to nail those triplets, come on man.
I always look at the thumbnails of these videos and I sorta cringe because I feel like it’s gonna be a rib and I hate anyone busting on people who actually put something out there but you never poke fun at least not in a nasty way and you make some good points that could hopefully help if not the original band maybe another one coming up. I was skeptical when you first started this series but I think your heart is in the right place man . I’ve always hated the condescending way musicians treat and talk about each other everyone is at a different place in their journey and we should be encouraging each other instead of bashing on someone who’s at a different point or going a completely different direction in their musical journey. Sure we don’t have to love everything but we shouldn’t be so quick to talk down on others. I got caught up in the competition of it all but when I really started to improve is when I quit trying to keep up or stay ahead of someone else and started to measure my progress against myself that’s when I started noticing bigger gains than ever.
Little pig, little pig let me in!
What's missing? A good song!
Thanks a lot Mike! Lol! Now I’m going to be walking around all day with that chorus stuck in my head all day! “Hell on earth….walking on the blade of life!”lol😂🎉
