Dr. Rubin and his entire team provide really excellent care. He treats his patients with so much care and respect. His toolbox is vast and he often is on the cutting edge of pain management. I have been a patient of his since ~2015 for my complicated issues and he has always provided me with real relief. His staff are like family, they remember your name and always convey your concerns accurately and speed. Something that I appreciate is the communication with Dr R and his team of providers. Whether it is scheduling appointments thru text messages, in person consultations or telemedicine appointments, your care is always surpurb. I have trusted him with both my spine and my brain and would not hesitate referring those close to me.
Dr Rubin, here in the UK I had a very successful nerve block, however when I underwent a two facet joint nerve ablation five months ago, it just made the pain in my buttocks and back of thighs worse plus now the pain is continuous. I didn't fully realise how much this procedure would negatively affect my life if it went wrong.
Basivertebral nerve ablation is specific to a nerve in the vertebrae. regular radiofrequency ablation targets the face joints in the lower back. The concept of using heat to deaden a nerve is what they have in common, just targeting different nerves. Intracept targets the basivertebral nerve and traditional RFA targets the median branch nerves to the facet joints.
Scoliosis is a challenge for spacers as they have to line up with the level above. So it depends how far off the levels are. That is a different video. Just FYI

I am glad my team and I have been able to help you!
That was super helpful. I go in and get this done the middle of October. You explained the procedure very well. Thank you Dr.
So how was it

@@issaalnobani5925 Hope things improve for you before too long.
I’m sorry to hear that. While I cannot comment on the specifics of your case, In general, RFA is not permanent and peripheral nerves can regenerate.
@@DrEdwardSRubin Thanks for taking the time to reply Dr.
The first two tests usually are temporary the first week I felt so good I have to wait another week in pain is so so crucial. My gosh.
Dr. Rubin, what is the difference between radio frequency ablation and basivertebral nerve ablation?

Can the spacers be use in cases of scoliosis?
Scoliosis is a challenge for spacers as they have to line up with the level above. So it depends how far off the levels are. That is a different video. Just FYI
I’m having done this in two weeks too much bureaucracy. I’ve being in pain for two months with tests.
How was it
My pain is all the way to my left leg horrible
Why doing this when a surgery is need it? Doesn’t make sense.
Exhaust all options before any surgery
