This is awesome! Thank you for sharing this information!! I’m 62 and my Lumbar Spine with Scoliosis , bulging and herniated disc! And Spinal Stenosis! My bone density is not good so 4 Dr. Has told me surgery is to much of a risk! I’m in a lot of pain, take shots that don’t help. Getting ready to see if an ablation will. This mild decompression gives me hope thank you so much!!!

I was told yesterday by my pain doctor after having to shots that failed and an MRI that I'm qualified for the MILD PROCEDURE! I have 2 levels of stenosis, but was told my insurance may only approve one surgery at a time, so they recommended I have them seek insurance approval for 1, have the procedure done, wait 12 weeks as that's how long for the body to completely adjust and heal. Then get the 2nd level done. I said ok. In the end I just want to get back to a normal life and feel my insurance will approve everything. You guys have given me hope for the first time in years!!!!!

I am really considering getting this procedure. It was recommended by my pain specialist and will be getting a second opinion from my neurosurgeon (tomorrow). One thing that concerns me is there is a lot of material such as this excellent video, but very little in the way of actual patient videos. As an example, I can find literally thousands of videos about laminectomies but almost nothing other than some videos put together by Vertos about the MILD procedure. Not sure what that means but I would feel better if there were some first hand accounts of folks who had the procedure and how they managed afterwards. Several people have posted that they were getting one, or just had one, but almost no one does a follow-up.

I had the Mild In May of 2022. It lasted a year. Then back to injections. Now we are trying the Vertiflex procedure as I get leg cramping from a pinched nerve in my back. Nothing seems to work long. I also had a Laminectomy in 2017 and I wish I’d never had that done. I’m on pain meds daily. I have bad knees so I get gel injections. I fell and tore my rotator cuff, had surgery and now get injections as I retore it. MILD may help you. But sorry it’s not long term. I’m 75.

I really can't take steroids - I'm a Diabetic, and they cause my Glucose to go sky high! The best I can do is use an ice pack. Today is 3-days post-op, and I am very uncomfortable....I didn't expect this. No one told me to expect this and none of the literature even mentioned this could happen. What are redundant nerve Roots you ask??? lol
"The development of elongated, enlarged and torturous nerve roots"
      Basically inflammation or edema...
Had redundant nerve roots at the L 3/4... 4/5 and they cleared up beautifully after the procedure ...now they're indicated at the L2/3..
Of course I can't sit down with the doctor for another 2 weeks and then they'll probably offer a steroid injection..Why...because that's what they do..

Facet joint and epidural injections and RF ablation at L4 and 5. not sure of the exact targets. in that order. I worked for a while now walking is tough.

you mentioned that this procedure is best for elderly folks who would not tolerate an open back procedure but why would this procedure not be appropriate for a person in their mid-50s who does not want to have an open back procedure and may opt for a more minimally invasive procedure which could be effective? Thanks.

It is appropriate but many private insurances still do not cover it. Medicare covers it. So mid 50s with stenosis and wanting to avoid larger surgery is appropriate
