This festival is very unique. Monkeys are all over Thailand but nothing like in Lopburi. Last year they did the feast in front of the temple. Lopburi is not as well known as Ayutthaya but it’s a great place to see. Lopburi has a lot of stuff from King Narai as well as pre-Ayutthaya Khmer and Lavo kingdom ruins. Ya I like the story. The old fables are always fun to hear. I think it was more likely the soldiers saw where the monkeys crossed the river and they followed them. After generations of the story being retold it gets added to. Still fun to picture in your mind.

I just came back from Bangkok, didn't know about this place, I went to Ayutthaya though, it's beautiful

Imagine if they would’ve had the feast at the scooter fest. That would’ve been something.
What I heard about the monkey is over popular ed and took over the town you can not walk with out being attacked by the monkeys .
They tried to sterilize the monkeys to control the population but that doesn’t seem to have worked.
They become very agressive if you go back to videos years back youll see they act different
The story about the monkey from a bridge I just don't believe it that was funny story.
