She speaks fluently in four languages and can sing in 14 languages! You need to react to "Broken Vow" from the "Lara With Love" concert in 2000. It's the same concert that "Je Suis Malade" that you reacted to came from. Oh, Lara wrote it and it's in English! Great reaction!

Welcome to the world of Queen Lara Fabian. You should also listen to the song "broken vow" from the same concert. th-cam.com/video/kJBGCI8aSE4/w-d-xo.html
Lara writes her songs, composes them and literally lives them when she sings them on stage. She is now 54 years old and her voice still shines. Fortunately, I bought my ticket for June 25th and I will listen to them live at the ISTANBUL concert. Definitely the best among his peers in the music industry. What Sony music did to him in 2003 is unforgivable. He definitely deserved more recognition.

    More information on Lara Fabian:
Lara is recognized as one of the best vocalist ever seen on earth and all professionals list her in the top vocalist tier with Barbra, Whitney, Mariah, Celine, Lisa Fischer, ....
In my personal opinion, she is even the best.
There are a few vocal characteristics that are her signature: her famous resonance for instance that allows her to sing acapella without mic in venues with 8,000 attendees. Her nickname in the singing world is "the ring" due to this. I would also list her amazing phrasing, breath management and her pleasant tone even when belting in her upper register.
So she is one of the best vocalist ever, but on top of that, she adds a few things that make her an absolute package with no equivalence:
    • she speaks 2 languages natively (french, italian), and 2 others fluently (english, spanish), can speak a bit of dutch (and sicilian), and understand quite well russian and portuguese. She has sung in 12 languages in total
    • she is an amazing songwriter and wrote lyrics for 200+ songs, in the 4 languages she speaks fluently. She often co-composes the music with the composer.
    • she acts and performs on stage as nobody else, she colors and reveals the meaning of every single word in the songs, and her ability to emote, to draw you in is second to none
    • she is the sweetest soul on earth, very humble, down to earth and benevolent. She likes to meet others, and her fans are always pleasantly surprised when this happens.
A quick background on her and her career:
She is belgian, her father is flemish, but also has italian roots (her mother is from sicilia) and American roots ( her grandfather is from Detroit). She was raised in sicilia first then in Belgium so she speaks both italian and french as native languages.
She has been classically trained on vocal, piano and songs composition for 10 years ( from 8 to 18) in the Brussels Royal Conservatory.
She is still having vocal lessons and training several times a week today.
She started her career in Canada in the early 90s, more precisely in Quebec, the french-speaking part of Canada.
She had been living for years in Montreal and has also Canadian citizenship. She just moved
back to Italy a few months ago (temporarily?).
She became very famous in Quebec and then conquered France in 1996/1997 (she topped charts there and some of her songs such as "Je t'aime" or "Tout" became classics of the french music).
In 2000, she was about to penetrate the US Market, with a lot of media initial interest. Her first english song (I will love again), a pop dance song, stayed number one on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart for 58 weeks in a row and number 32 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Her Album ("Lara Fabian") was about to become a massive hit, and the concert "From Lara With Love" was recorded to be broadcasted everywhere in the US.
This concert is legendary, packed with masterpieces (covered by many great vocalists later on).
But a dispute with Sony on artistry directions, and the will from Celine Dion's staff to block her progress in the US, completely broke this plan.
She thus refocused back on Europe and made huge success there, extending her reach to Eastern Europe and Central Asia where she became an absolute superstar through her collaboration with Igor Krutoy during several years. She is absolutely massive in Russia for instance.
She is also a star in Brazil as her song "Love By Grace", used as the soundtrack for a very famous soap opera, topped the charts for months and become a recurrent in the local singing contests since then.
Many of her songs became classics and were covered by the other singing legends: Barbra Streisand, Shirley Bassey, Josh Groban (they are friends and he told she is a role model for him), Linda Eder, …
With her success in Europe, Brazil and part of Asia, she is the inspiration of the new generation of vocalists: most of them are coming from there.
Thru their covers of Lara Fabian songs, USA and many other countries are now rediscovering her.
    She is Dimash's idol:
I’ve read somewhere that, when he was a child, he was listening her songs every night to get asleep.
He covered many of her songs, most of these were composed by Igor Krutoy and written by by Lara.
Out of my mind I can list:
    ○ Adagio (She wrote it and is the original performer),
    ○ Mademoiselle Hyde (she wrote it and is the original performer),
    ○ Love of Tired Swans (she wrote the song in French under the title "Je t'aime encore" and was the original performer of the french then the russian versions, Dimash covered the russian version)
    ○ Ascolta La Voce / Vocalize (this was a pure vocalization and she was the original performer, then lyrics were added for Dimash and it was rebranded as "Know")
She also wrote the lyrics of Dimash's song "Your Love".
And she covered "Love is like a dream" before him (song from Igor Krutoy originally performed by Alla Pugacheva).
Finally, they also performed "Ti Amo Cosi" together, in trio with Aida Garafulina: this is a song that she performed originally with Dmitri Hvorostovsky and Sumi Jo then again later with Dmitri and Alina Yarovaya, before this new trio with Dimash and Aida.
Dimash is now also working with Igor Krutoy: Igor and Dimash connected after his Adagio cover, also endorsed by Lara.
Igor came back from retirement and composed severals songs for him after it.
Many other top vocalists from the current generation covered her songs, some have Lara as a role model and big inspiration:
    ○ Floor Jansen (Adagio),
    ○ Polina Gagarina (Adagio, Je t’aime),
    ○ Diana Ankudinova (Tomorrow is a lie),
    ○ Morissette Amon (Broken Vow),
    ○ Gabriel Henrique (Love by Grace),
    ○ Cakra Khan (Broken Vow),
    ○ Katrina Velarde (Broken Vow),
    ○ Regine Velasquez (Broken Vow),
    ○ Dmitri Hvorostovsky (Adagio),
    ○ Giulia Falcone (Adagio, Caruso, Je suis malade, Je t'aime),
    ○ Forestella (Je suis Malade),
    ○ Almira (from 4th Impact band) (Broken Vow),
    ○ Gigi de Lana (Broken Vow)
    ○ Julie Anne san Jose (Adagio, Broken Vow),
    ○ Rimar ( Adagio, Broken Vow, Know),
    ○ Il Divo (Adagio)
    ○ Daria Bentsa (I guess I loved you),
    ○ Sarah Geronimo (Broken Vow)
    ○ Laura Bretan ( Adagio, Caruso),
    ○ Jackie Evancho (Je t’aime, Caruso and Broken Vow, BV rewritten as « Imaginer » by Lara for Jackie),
    ○ Amir (Je t’aime),
    ○ Vitas (Adagio),
    ○ Anastasia Luna (Adagio),
    ○ Jeck (Je T’Aime),
    ○ Evgenia Fanfara (Adagio),
    ○ Anna Eriksson (Je suis malade),
    ○ Choi Sung Hoon (Je suis malade),
    ○ Soprano Turetsky band (Adagio)
    ○ Majda Roumi (Adagio),
    ○ Harrison Craig (Broken Vow),
    ○ Petra Berger (Adagio, Broken Vow),
    ○ Katerina Maslova (Je t’aime, I guess I loved you)
    ○ Sevara Nazarkhan (Je t’aime)
    ○ ....
NB: Lara did cover Caruso , Je suis malade, and Love by grace, these are not her originals, but I mention these here as the related artists were attracted to cover it again after listening to Lara’s version.
Today, Lara still has an amazing voice and tone and can still reach the 5th octave with resonance ; she still offers these emotive renditions that are her unique signature.
In June 2022, she kicked off a WW tour and stunned her fans once again with 5 magical concerts in Canada. She completed the europe part in September/October and I attended a concert from this tour. It was packed and she was again spectacular.
On April, May, June 2023 she had again some wonderful concerts in Tbilissi, Georgia, then in Ouzbekhistan, Kazakhstan, Romania.
She is about to release a new album and kick off another tour that will visit eastern europe in april 2024 (Czech Republic, Moldavia, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkiye), then several locations in Canada in june 2024 and, after some rest and a few TV Shows, France sometime in 2025.
Sorry if I was long, but I hope this gives some context on Lara.

Lara is a living legend. Even when she is singing covers like this one, she gives her all to inhabit the story and invoke in the audience the emotions that she wants them to have. Frankly, once Lara covers a song, people forget who the original is from and all other covers! There is a reason why Dimash had Lara as his idol when he was growing up, so much so that he sang several of her songs or covers (Adagio, Love is a dream, Mademoiselle Hyde, Love of Tired Swans...) and even ended up joining forces with Lara for several duets.

Welcome to the Lara Fab listeners - I understand she speak 4 languages fluently (and some with multiple dialects) and sings in at least 10.
I have copies of all her output and still prefer the older materials.
Top CD's are the 1999 self titled Lara Fabian her first album primarily in English (Adagio appears as track 1 and 13 (in Italian), before this 1994 Carpe Diem and 1996 Pure are the stand outs. In 2004 she released "A wonderful Life" which is also in English and included a wonderful guitarist Jean-Félix Lalanne. After this she changed musical direction and while fine I prefer most of the earlier albums that came from her collaboration with Rick Allison. Lara's live performances are spectacular. The "From Lara With Love" DVD (probably the main source of vids reviewed/reacted to on YT) is by far the best for me. As are the 1998, 2000 and 2002 CD's and DVD's of her live shows Live, En Toute Intimite, and a 2nd Live recording. The Mademoiselle Zhivago performance is far far higher production value and a great collaboration - It features 11 songs in different languages by Russian composer Igor Krutoy. Sadly some of the recordings made on this tour are not technically good, while the performances are spectacular.
In 1998 Lara appeared with Jonny Hallyday at the Stade De France to perform "Requiem pour un fou" which blew Jonny off the stage and all but stopped the show. Both the DVD and 4 LP release are spectacular.
Top Lara tracks for me are: Adagio in Italian (the vowel sounds and rhythm is better than the version in english); Caruso, Adagio in English, Broke Vow, Je T'aime, Immortelle, Tout, Perdere l'Amore, and then others as listed by others below.
Other performances worth viewing -- tracks from Yentl and other Barbra Streisand standards. I understand that LF and BS have similar ranges and to my overly sensitive ears both are far less screechy than CD.

The song was written for a man to sing but Lara wanted to sing it because of the emotional attachment to the song. Many of us first heard her sing this before the addition of subtitles and although we didn't understand French we were emotional wrecks by the end of the song. I have a Mount Rushmore for my favorite artists, artists who touch my heart when they sing and Lara is one of the four. Lara fans will be sending you other video's to listen to and, after listening to this, well, you can imagine what they will sound like.
Btw, the first "a" in Lara's name is silent just like the second one. Also, the "a's" in her last name, Fabian are also silent. (Fa bian. Not Fabian.) See you soon!

xxxFYI: She’s absolutely beautiful at 54 - LARA (not Laura) Fabian (Fabyanne) with links: Lara Fabian is a Canadian (Québécoise) of Belgian birth and Italian/Franco/Flemish cultural heritage. Lara studied piano, composition, and voice at a Brussels Conservatory for a decade. Lara is a full lyric soprano with a vocal range that spans four octaves (A5, B4, BB4, C3, C5, C#5, D5, E5, EB5, F5, F#5, G5) in live performances. She is multilingual; she speaks Italian, French, Spanish, and English and has sung in 12. Lara, who describes herself as a songwriter/singer, creates a high emotional connection with the listener. She has a discography of over 400 songs, has sold over 30 million records, and plays at sold-out venues worldwide. She lives with her husband and daughter in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
I’m a ‘fan’ because of her high level ‘EQ’ (emotional intelligence) expressed in the text of her songs.

No, she didn't write this song.
This song is by Serge Lama and Alice Donna.
It is a song from the repertoire of Serge Lama, a great French singer.
As for Lara Fabian, she has a Belgian father and a Sicilian mother.
She now has Canadian nationality, the country where she lives

If Lara had had as producer a husband identical to that of Céline Dion, with a well-stocked address book and lots of well-placed acquaintances it would have changed a lot of things. I think that it was deliberately put aside so as not to overshadow Céline Dion's career and that all of this was orchestrated by Céline Dion's husband. But that's just my opinion (google traduction)

Hope you do other reactions about Lara’s songs. One suggestion is the Spanish song she sang in Moscow 10 years ago and named ´´Llora ´, a masterpiece.

Yes, however, if one is looking to see Lara sing "Llora" live that particular ''Moscow'' performance from _'10 years ago'_ to which I believe you are referring is to be shunned as it was, in fact, ''lip-synced''. Sadly, it's true and trust me - it pains me deeply to have to bring this disheartening news to anyone not already aware of this.

    • @lalandeful
      @lalandeful 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@user-ys1jq6kr8z Even if Lara did lipsigned that song, the fact is that she, one moment or another, had to record the song and that for me do not jeopardize the greatness of this song.

“Je suis Malade”, now a french classic, was written by famous French singer & songwriter Serge Lama together with composer/singer Alice Dona in 1973.
This is based on his own experience and he was the original performer, hence some lyrics are a bit male-oriented (eg my mother leaves me, whiskies, I pour my blood in your body, …).
When Serge Lama had a dinner with Alice Dona and told her about his obsessive love that was leading to a road block, she came back home and composed the music in a couple of hours.
The morning after, she presented him the music and he wrote the lyrics in … 20 minutes.
Serge Lama was the original performer in 1973, it started to be promoted on the radio, and the song was brought to fame only when, a few months after, Dalida covered it. She was an absolute mega star in France, another emotional powerhouse, and this song resonated very much with her own feelings. Her success with this song transformed it into a french classic, and started to make it famous abroad.
But it is Lara Fabian that really made this song a very popular song in many countries with her cover in the mid 90s.
At that time Dalida had already passed away, but Serge Lama was (and is) still alive. Dalida and Serge were two inspirations for Lara, so she sent an audio copy to Serge of her version.
She was unknown at that time in France but he was so impressed with her vocal skills and her emotions rendering that he invited her in France to sing it as a duet during his own Paris concert in January 1995. It was a triumph. So he sat in a front row seat and asked her to sing it again alone.
Lara also had made some subtle changes to the song that gave it even more power. Serge and Lara became good friends and performed several other duets later on.
The 1999 version ("From Lara with Love" Concert in Montreal)
    th-cam.com/video/eHSyk4SGtuY/w-d-xo.html
is legendary internationally and has attracted many artists to do a cover, even from non french-speaking countries.
The most recent ones I am aware of are from italian singer Giulia Falcone, from the korean singer Choi Sung Hoon or from the korean band Forestella.
Lara is used to perform the song very differently in each of her tour and for instance the En Toute Intimité, 2003, Paris Olympia version is even more dramatic
