For me, even though I’m a Québécoise, I truly think that she’s way above Celine Dion and I also know now that since Lara is more on the web now, that could be dangerous for Celine. Especially that Celine hates Lara‘s guts! I have watched a documentary about people who were working at Sony records and they were talking about Lara’s journey and this guy said so. Been a fan of Lara for over 20 years now, and I really enjoy the reaction when people hear and see how she puts emotion into the song like no other artist I have seen in my 62 years. Also WATCH her at the very end, she is visibly shaking from the emotion and the feeling she gets when she puts herself "into" the song, no, she actually becomes the song. WATCH!!! Her head shakes a bit from side to side, as she is trying to regain her composure, she is not even yet able to react to the audience clapping. I'm sure her adrenaline is thru the roof at this point. But Lara....wahhhh...as I said to many friends of mine, she's got one of the most beautyfull voice of the world and surely one (my be the one) of the most powerfull voice of the world. I saw her live (yes, french metal heads go to see non metal concerts sometimes ^^) and she made me cry by singing "Je suis malade"...that performance is absolutly outstanding, she is incredibly awesome (you can see she is possessed when she sings). That was the 1rst time I was crying by listening someone singing (and I'm not sure I've been crying again by listening a song). Like many who have already commented here, though I have watched this performance untold number of times, I still tear up every time. There is no way to improve on this performance, in my opinion. You can feel it, because I think she actually lived it. After the a cappella portion, when she cries out "That's it!" it is as though all the emotion comes pouring out at once. Lara Fabian is my favorite female singer, along with Evan Cassidy. Every song she does is first class.

Unfortunately, she was not lucky enough to have the same manager as Celine Dion who also comes from here. it's a shame that you're starting to know her, she's a singer who has the ability to get under the skin of her songs and she speaks several languages. For many like me, it is she who should have had Celine's place. luckily, she is worshiped here and in Europe. Igor Cotrove wrote several songs for her before Dimash Cudenbergen who has great admiration for Lara. In addition, he sings several songs of Lara and even participated with him in one of his Shows. This song- this performance levels me every single time. I was in an extremely toxic, emotionally/verbally abusive relationship for six years with a man who had terminal brain cancer. I loved him with every ounce of my being - I tried so hard, made excuses for his behavior- I mean, what did I know about staring death in the face?! Things would be good- then he'd snap, break me down- I would leave- then felt like a horrible person for abandoning him- I went back- he built me back up... Repeat. Repeat. After he passed, it hit me: Jétais malade. The lyric "cet amour me tue" - it almost did. Still putting the pieces back together.

This song- this performance levels me every single time. I was in an extremely toxic, emotionally/verbally abusive relationship for six years with a man who had terminal brain cancer. I loved him with every ounce of my being - I tried so hard, made excuses for his behavior- I mean, what did I know about staring death in the face?! Things would be good- then he'd snap, break me down- I would leave- then felt like a horrible person for abandoning him- I went back- he built me back up... Repeat. Repeat. After he passed, it hit me: Jétais malade. The lyric "cet amour me tue" - it almost did. Still putting the pieces back together.
