Love this and I am applying to do either in 2021 or 2022. I will hopefully go to China. I am applying as a undergraduate senior and I plan to do PHD in Asian studies and Education. I want to Teach English aboard as Second language in China, Pakistan, and Africa. I also want to write and publish books and articles. I also might work as a China-Pakistani relations consult.

Hello, and thank you so much for this video! I felt it came just at the right moment for me, because I'd like to apply for a research grant to Korea for 2019, but also am interested in applying to teach in Korea in the meantime to acquiant myself with the language. My question to you is:
How did you convey that your time spent studying and teaching in France should not put you at a disadvantage, but was rather an asset to your research goals?

1. I already have a postgraduate degree, am I less likely to win the scholarship? In my statement of intent, I have tried to show how the master's degree I want to get will augment the one I already have.
2. In my statement of Intent do I need to show the school I want to attend as well as the country it is located?
3. How does the statement of intent differ when applying to do a taught degree as opposed to a pure research?
I ask this question because I want to apply for a taught masters through which I want to add to my research which I started on a pure research degree.
Yes, I would love to do a Ph.D. but at the moment I cant afford it and many papers I have read and scholars I talked to have led me to believe my project or research interest needs the skills I would learn in the master I am applying for (I seriously hope that make sense).
I was told that the scholarship would not be funding PhDs.
thanks -- tbh, i can't answer most of these questions besides "yes" to number 2. you should research the website to find our your eligibility for funding and so forth.
