Thank you so much for making this! I’m in the process of applying for an ETA to Ecuador for the 22-23 academic year, and this is extremely helpful! One thing I’m struggling with is planning for grad school apps/job applications with the lengthy application review/notification process, but it’s so helpful to hear about others’ experiences.
@@mallorywoods4853omg hi! I’m planning on applying for Ecuador ETA this upcoming cycle and would love to get some advice and hear how the experience has been for u!
This was a great video! The biggest thing I took away was that most of the people featured ended up choosing countries where they had personal ties, ranging from heritage to previous travel experiences. Or, as someone put it, “where it just made sense for me to go”. I’m really beginning to wonder if I should take that approach if I reapply and focus on personal ties rather than only my project. Did you find that that approach was common among other grantees as well, or is Fulbright also an opportunity to experience a culture you’re newer to?
Great question! I think that’s the magic of Fulbright. You can either chose to take in something familiar or new && exciting! I my opinion, I think the major goal of the application is making sure the logic in your narrative make sense. Example (researchers): you went to think one place because it is the only place in the world that a process a particular way. (I think being familiar with that country would be and added bonus/boost confidence in the committee that you would be able to make it aboard. However, even if you've never been I think the reason is till strong enough) Good luck next cycle! If you need anything I'm happy to help
Excellent video! Very well edited and also enjoyed the guests who shared their experiences. I'm also very grateful to have learned about the Fulbright-National Geographic scholarship. I looked it up and I think that may be what I'm looking for. Thank you!
Such a helpful video! thank you so much for crafting this and including the voices of others. Also a plus that all are (seemingly) Black women! 😍🖤 This helped me to narrow down my country, which I'll be applying to this upcoming cycle!
Whoa! You always amaze me. I love this video from the beginning to the end! The tea was definitely spilled lol the guest speakers were awesome. #representationmatters
Thank you so much for doing this my University is actually partnering with Fulbright! So considering I'll be done with my B.A. in a year why not. So I'm in the early stages right now but this definitely helped from the information, thanks for giving your true thoughts. The testimony' s also was a nice touch!👍 🙏
Thank you for this video!! I just began the process of looking into and applying for the program. I'll be conversing with one of the advisors at my school about it who was a former Fulbright himself. I'll be graduating with my B.S. in Sociology soon so I've been looking at countries that will best fit the research I would like to conduct. My career goals are to go into mental health counseling for children and young adults so I'm trying to decide on what country I can see myself conducting a study in. The whole process is a bit overwhelming, but your video definitely gave me a boost of confidence! Thanks again! ❤️💯
How important is GPA when applying for international students applying to Fulbright? I’m an Egyptian student hoping to do my master’s in the U.S. with the scholarship. I graduated with a 3.69 GPA in journalism and Fulbright’s requirments on the website seem to ask for just a 3.0 minimum. But is there anyway of knowing what the average GPA is for the accepted Fulbrighters? I’m worried there’s an “unofficial” GPA requirement that’s like 3.8+ for the majority of applicants and only a select few get in with lower GPAs. I’m for sure continuing to build my work and leadership experience but would have to admit GPA is a bit of a concern. Anyway, love this video !😊
GREAT VIDEO!! Thankful to be apart of it!
Carmen J. Carroll thank you so much for helping!!!
Omg thank you I was looking for a more informative video on the FullBright! Thanks!
I am happy to help!♥
Thank you for sharing this!! I don't think people fully convey how stressful it is to complete the application.
