When I was playing on xbox I found that the voxels regenerated if I didn't mine the entire deposit out and waited two real days doing things planet side. I had unlimited Uranium. I've since switched to steam and haven't tested it yet. Maybe it is an xbox thing.
@@marknorton586 No, again sadly, voxels (which asteroids and ore veins are made of) can't be moved at all. Its not like with large grid stations which start floating when disconnected from their anchorpoint. Even a 1x1 pixel sized voxel that is not completely removed can, if you bump into it with your ship, call upon clang who will in turn rip you apart like the puny human you are.
@@marknorton586 Asteroids even if you split them stay together. Think of every single piece of land / planet as a voxel that doesnt move. The sun's rotation is also fake, you cant travel to it as it doesnt exist.
Do voxels still regnerate if you are over 10km away? If so, you'll have infinite ice from the iceteroide.
Unfortunately, it does not, so will run out eventually.

I quite literally look forward to these videos daily. Very relaxing while I pack
I suggest adding rockets to the ice asteroid, and moving it towards, your base, if possible.
Sadly thats not a thing in SE. Asteroids are fixed in place like planets for ease of processing.
@@TofuCharged well maybe a large chunk off it then?

what he could do is put a mining rig next to it and mine the entire thing
