So what do you say? 160mil is too little? They still THE BIGGEST donor of RED. And there aren’t any other phone makers that do this. Instead of saying: „if you are on the market for a phone (and your audience basically is) go buy this phone because it helps raise money for a good cause”... you punch them in the balls and say they do something bad. But of course, straight donating is good, and people who have the phone they like and don’t want a phone, and want to contribute, they should donate as much as they want to, to any charity they feel like helping.

It's all relative. If I'm a worker on minimum wage and I donate $100 to charity, that's fantastic. If I'm a multi-millionaire and I donate $100, it's not remotely fantastic. Apple is the richest company in the world, with a cash reserve of almost $300 billion. Donating $160 million over 11 years is like you or I donating loose change from our pocket. Actually, it's a lot less than that. I'll praise them when they donate a billion dollars to (RED). (That would still be only 0.3% of all the cash they've got.)

However, there are many charities competing for donations and millions of iPhone users so if you donate as a bi product of buying a red iPhone the result is more funds for the cause $167 million is a lot of money so it’s a win win in the greater scheme. If they were even more generous the red version would be released at launch and there would be a red iPhone X. Sorry to hear about your Dad.

I agree here that it would be best to just donate directly to "Red" if you really want to help with the costs of research. I can definitely see how this means a lot to you considering you lost your father to HIV. With what you've been doing, I'm confident your father would be proud to see the man you've become and how much positivity you're spreading through TH-cam, Twitter, etc. You're really a good guy. I would almost be willing to bet that 90% of the people purchasing the iPhone product red items aren’t doing it out of charity but out of want of the color red. Likely using the fact that a portion of the sales does benefit charity as a means of justifying their purchase. The way you come across in this video is just bad to put it plain and simple.
