something I really want to say about Fullmetal Alchemist: I really think that the 2003 series has a better introduction to the story. obviously this probably won't change your decision to just watch Brotherhood verbatim, and I respect that... but if you're ever confused, it's because the early episodes of Brotherhood kind of presuppose that you've seen the original show, or read the manga already, so they rush through a lot of story beats, and I think they screw up the tone during a really crucial foundational piece of the storytelling. like, the manga and the 2003 version had some legit horror in the tone and content, but in some places, Brotherhood treats it as a frequently comedic action/adventure that can go dark, I guess. Fullmetal Alchemist was already super SUPER popular before Brotherhood came out, which is why it even got a second anime adaptation in the first place, so at the time, the assumption that everyone already knew this story was probably even a safe bet... but in my opinion, their decisions didn't age well at all. in particular, I really like the 2003 version of the first 3 episodes... they're canon to the manga's plot, and I think they genuinely introduce the story way more coherently. and I also prefer 2003's episode 7 (which corresponds to the events of episode 4 in Brotherhood). 2003's episode 7 is (in my opinion) done so much better in terms of tone, pacing, and dramatic weight... and this piece of the story is so important to get right, emotionally speaking. I really wish this could be your first experience of this particular plot beat. I don't think it'll ruin it to see Brotherhood's version first, but you can only see it the first time once. that said, I read the manga as my first experience of this story, which nailed everything. and I remember, after reading _those_ chapters, huddled between the shelves at Borders bookstore, I could not stop thinking about those events. the way it was presented just had such gravitas, which I think Brotherhood really lacks in the early episodes. I'm normally not this much of a purist, but this is a story that really deserves to be told well. anyway... maybe you could take a look at the other versions of some of these events someday? I don't really know the best way to go about it, but it could be fun to compare/contrast. anyway. about this episode of Death Note! this is a thing that I remember I found kind of frustrating originally. Light cares about himself, and only himself. and Misa's had such a long time in which to realize that... even without her memories of his time as Kira, he's pushed her around, used her, and disrespected her so many times... and she's no pushover when it comes to literally anyone else. but that's half the problem right there. if she's mad about Light getting involved (to an unknown degree of sincerity) with Takada, then she should go _be mad at Light._ I've been wanting her to actually get mad at him this whole time... he deserves it! but the only time she'll choose to stand up for herself is when she's acting uselessly jealous toward a woman who doesn't really have a reason to fight with her. and the truth of the matter is... Takada shouldn't be fawning over Light either. she's known him for a long time too actually, and while we've seen that he can say a bunch of textbook-correct small talk phrases... he never feels genuine. or rather, he's only genuine when he reveals his big murder secret, and even that is only genuine because he _so honestly_ needs another pawn to shield himself with. he _very sincerely_ does want to get away with murder. but I think that's the key to Light's """charisma""" at this point. Light has all the actual appeal of a piece of wet cardboard to me, but once he reveals his super secret interesting side, (he kills people), that becomes either empowering for the frustrated edgy kids like Teru, or... it's terrifying. if Kira knows your face and name, you could die at any moment. and in a situation like that, your only line of defense may be to ingratiate yourself to him and hope that he likes you well enough, or that you're useful enough, that he'll keep you around. it actually makes it hard to sort out which Kira supporters really believe in what Kira is doing, vs. who just doesn't want to be his next victim. but the bottom line is! I hate it when people displace blame onto the person their partner was cheating on them with, rather than just getting mad at their partner, who cheated. obviously some unique circumstances may change this, but in this case, Misa should 100% be yelling at Light instead.
In regards to your comment about everyone wanting to sleep with Light. You've said so yourself, without the notebook, you liked him. To everyone in his world, he is the same Light as he's always been. You only hate him because you are aware of his actions and can hear his thoughts. He is a very charming, smooth and charismatic person, like a lot of psychopaths are.
L, Near, Mello and the other kids at whammy house probably suffer from some sort of psychological problems, probably autism spectrum (more specifically the kind of autism that gives you unnatural capabilities), thats why they all act so different and have their own tics like piling things or eating something viciously
@@TheGloryXros death note would be a psychologist's dream object of study, the show has so many characters that demonstrate clear signs of many different mental disorders. not only these people i mentioned but also light, misa and mikami
They're pretty much neurodivergents, more likely autistic. I can tell that cuz I'm a neurodivergent myself (i.e., AuDHD / Autism + ADHD). No typical teenager will play toys like that or have hyperfixations to sweets and crime-solving.
If there's any anime I can recommend you to watch in the near future if you want, it would be Banana Fish. 10/10 👌 loved it, one of the best animes I ever watched. I have to warn you though, it's very dark and sad, and it probably isn't for everyone, but I personally loved it! Would love for you to react to it!
Death note has several biblical allegories (like the apple/deathnote representing evil forbidden knowledge/power and temptation). Light is Lucifer and Kira is Satan. Lucifer was the brightest, most beautiful, and greatest angel, which is why Light is the brightest mind in Japan and best-looking guy in any given room. When people see Light, they're drawn by his looks, mind, and charisma, which is why he gets everyone on his side as Light. These allegories are made explicit in the first opening. TL;DR: everyone wants to bang Light because the bible
Misa & Takeda might fall for Light, but I absolutely hate him. But as we are coming to a close in the series one thing is Near is really smart to catch onto the "X-Kira" and Light being as Kira as two different people which just shows you how intelligent he really is. As for Near's age I don't recall it if it was clear what his age was or else I just forgot. Also one thing you might've missed at the end is he used his cellphone taking a picture on the subway train, so maybe you have some thoughts or theories regarding that.
I don't think you could tear all the pages out, Death Note should have an infinite amount. Hmm, I've never really thought about that before, but if it has an infinite amount of pages, you can tear a lot of them out and bind them into many new Death Notes... sure, those would run out of pages, but you could keep making new and new, distribute them around the world. I don't know where I'm going with this but it probably wouldn't be good.
10:53 How many pages in a Death Note. Not mentioned in anime or manga but it's safe to assume you'll never run out. It's supernatural, after all. If you did something stupid like trying to fill the Grand Canyon the God of Death would intervene. He took action against somebody, who didn't violate any Death Note rules, in a one-off manga.
From this point on, these last episodes are pretty cool, hope you enjoy it! After finishing, please take your time to share with us your thoughts, what you enjoyed, what not, if it was worth ir, that would be nice to see! ^^
@@bluelink7286 yeah i thought that as well but misa Amane starting looking and acting younger during this part of the show. It's possible that the writer wanted to show that she hasn't aged a day while everyone else has, but the way that it was executed along with Light's new gf Takada mistaking Misa for being younger makes it look as if the clock reversed for Misa a bit.
@spongebob8445 I see what you mean but I think that has more to do with the quality of the writing (of her character at least) than to anything else. Something else to think about, she always had somewhat of a sweet/childish personality, the issue is that before you also got to see another side of her because she either had a death note, or knowledge of the existence of death notes, or was helping Light/L with their investigation (during the Yotsuba arc). So she was always much more involved with the plot and had ulterior motives. Now, she is, as Light described her, just a common woman. She is doing nothing for the plot and knows nothing of what's going on, so this childish side of her is all you get to see, but her personality hasn't really changed
@@bluelink7286 yeah, I think this is where it starts to become a little transparent that the author might have problems with women... if not his actual expectations of women, then at least the way that he writes them. like, as an isolated character, Misa is great! she's super entertaining, and full of personality. but that personality stops seeming quite so novel and unique when it starts to feel like some of her character traits are just... the basic way that the author thinks all women generally are, deep down. even in just this episode, I thought that Takada might've been kinda cool, because her thing with Light is mostly based around power, so she's not as sentimental as Misa is. she can be cool while Misa throws her little tantrum, specifically because she doesn't need to care. but then the two have dinner, and Takada seems genuinely bothered by the idea of Misa and Light's engagement, and then genuinely relieved that Misa doesn't know anything about Light being Kira, and it kind of ruins the idea of her being above this petty bickering thing that Misa wants to do. it feels like this is just the inevitable common denominator for women in Light's orbit at this point, which is so much less interesting.
Near is young but not as young as you thought, he's supposed to be 17-18 while Mello is around 19 but yes, he can be kind of childish I guess? I like that he's not embarrassed of it tho, he clearly told his team before that he's scared to go outside so he'll always just stay at the headquarters, now he plainly asked Rester to fly back to America and then back to Japan just so he wouldn't need to be alone on the plane, and he's constantly playing with his toys too, I guess they help him visualize his theories more if he has physical figures in his hands and he can roleplay how things would play out with them. People always say Near is just a cheap copy of L or that he's emotionless or doesn't have a personality but that's really not true. Near is similar to L but they're also very different and he most definitely has a personality, although the anime did make him a bit more boring compared to the manga I guess. But I love how he sulks and complains if people interfere with how he planned things, he loves to make fun of Light and toy with him and I love his little shit smile when he does. He's an absolute little menace honestly and I love him for that. (spoilers from here on) I also find his relationship with Mello & Matt really interesting because I think he clearly cares about them, I just don't know how much. Not sure if they kept that in the anime but in the manga when the SPK gets a christmas tree, it's decorated with things that the three of them like, crosses for Mello, robots for Near and game consoles for Matt. And then there's that one panel in the manga that makes everything so much sadder in my opinion, in the epilogue that takes place a year after the events of the last episode, Near is eating chocolate like Mello used to... That fucked me up so bad because when you think about it, Near doesn't have any friends and although I'm not sure if you could call Mello or Matt his friends, he at least had a connection with them, especially Mello. They grew up together and they were constantly challenging each other (well, mostly Mello, and Near just indulged him) and although they're polar opposites, they probably also knew each other really well in a way. I can't imagine how lonely he'd feel after losing both people he felt somewhat close to (maybe? well, closer to than anyone else). So yeah, I wish Death Note spent more time exploring its characters more because L too, but especially these three boys are so interesting to me, I really really wish we knew more about their past at Wammy's House.
near is actually 17-18 years old but he behave in this way because there is a big chance that he has autism. This is not said in the anime or manga, but there are many clear evidences of this, his always wearing a certain type of clothing (large and light-colored), his obsession with building symmetrical towers, whether with cards or dices, and also his few expressions and feelings and lack of eye contact With the others on his team, too if you notice he always twirls his hair in his hand especially when he's thinking. It's possible that playing with toys and sitting with lots of screens around him is his way of staying focused There are also suspicions that L also has autism, but with less severity, as he was able to communicate with others well despite his strange habits such as the way he sits and his great love for sweets.
Okay... Luke, I have a very serious question... You asked yourself, if you'd bow-chicka-wow-wow Light,if you met him. You said, he has that Charme... That... "God of Death Charme"... That Charme like... Ryuk and Rem... Do you... sometimes... ask yourself, if you'd bow-chicka-wow-wow with Ryuk..? I mean, no judging, but... Do you? 😂
Near is like 17 or so.. there is this headcanon or.. if it's legit idk.. that Near is on autistic spectrum. That explains his lack of emotions being put into his decisions (unlike Mello. He is really emotional) and his childish traits. Tho Idk if I pick on it correctly but being on autistic spectrum myself I pretty much see it that way. That he is one too. And not only for those stereotypical things.
So let’s dive deep without spoilers N knew that Mikami is x Kira he just needed proof and light wanted that obviously but the reason why there is a fake note is that the fbi don’t steal the real death note but now that mikami uses it’s easy to know which is which which it’s really good for near that’s why it’s important and I think misa might know that light is Kira but she acted like she don’t and that may be light plan to put her closer cuz just look what misa said “I used to like Kira but Light will definitely catch Kira and when he is caught (meaning light ) you would not be left you will be executed “ i mean misa still loves Kira right and misa is more important to light that why she is not dead Mello is like light (scared of dying ) so after seeing the god of death he needs to calculate everything and get that fear out that’s all
Idk if my eyes have just gotten progressively worse but im at the point where i can no longer read the subtitles that are on white backgrounds which tend to show up a lot this show
As an aroace woman, Light would have no power over me. I'm not interested in anyone in that way. After watching whatever you are after FMA Brotherhood, I hope you start watching either Erased, Gintama, or Fairy Tail soon.
For some reason, the video quality was good but the death note video quality ( the subtitles) seemed to be low quality... hard to read even on a big screen... but tks anyways
Best not to think of that ranking, the one that says FMAB is no.1, SNK is no. 2 and so on. FMAB is definitely not the best anime I've seen. Ratings are unreliable when it comes to saying what's the best. Even dragon ball series has a 9.5 rating on imdb which is just ridiculous. If the ratings are low, it is clearly an indication that the show is bad tho. This goes with everything in entertainment.

in particular, I really like the 2003 version of the first 3 episodes... they're canon to the manga's plot, and I think they genuinely introduce the story way more coherently. and I also prefer 2003's episode 7 (which corresponds to the events of episode 4 in Brotherhood).
True
18:15 I fully agree with you here
L, Near, Mello and the other kids at whammy house probably suffer from some sort of psychological problems, probably autism spectrum (more specifically the kind of autism that gives you unnatural capabilities), thats why they all act so different and have their own tics like piling things or eating something viciously
Ehhhhh.....Not really.....People can just have odd habits.
@@TheGloryXros i used the word "probably" multiple times for that reason, its not confirmed but its heavily theorized
I don’t really care for "catfights" but Misa in this episode is such a mood.
I love Luke's theories about each episode! ☺️☺️☺️💯💯💖
It's been years and years since I saw this. I believe I know what happened on the train. Maybe. I'll have to wait and see. Enjoy the rest!
Kiyomi is fucking unreal because how do you have a whole ass HALLE LIDNER with you 24/7 but go for fucking Yagami Light???? Like no wayy
13:24 Godzilla! 👑🦖
Near is really the goat in my opinion.
If you want to see Light Yagami coming out of the closet as Kira all you need to do is flip his name in reverse.
You can thank me later Luke. 👍
i cant believe I fell for a decade old joke
lol
😂😂😂😂😂
I don't think you could tear all the pages out, Death Note should have an infinite amount. Hmm, I've never really thought about that before, but if it has an infinite amount of pages, you can tear a lot of them out and bind them into many new Death Notes... sure, those would run out of pages, but you could keep making new and new, distribute them around the world. I don't know where I'm going with this but it probably wouldn't be good.
10:53
How many pages in a Death Note.
Not mentioned in anime or manga but it's safe to assume you'll never run out. It's supernatural, after all.
If you did something stupid like trying to fill the Grand Canyon the God of Death would intervene. He took action against somebody, who didn't violate any Death Note rules, in a one-off manga.
Stopped the player hax in a patch update
I really hope you enjoy Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. I've watched it all the way through twice and it's probably my favorite.
From this point on, these last episodes are pretty cool, hope you enjoy it! After finishing, please take your time to share with us your thoughts, what you enjoyed, what not, if it was worth ir, that would be nice to see! ^^
So the 4th Death Notes movie does follow the rules that stated in this episode. I thought they just made up some new rules for the movie.
Misa Amane had actually gotten younger here if I'm not mistaken due to the extra years added onto her life.
I don't think that's how it works. She doesn't rejuvenate, but rather her life expectancy increases
GOT: Also can Light ever come out
Me: Well I'm sure no one from the Task Force will judge for him being gay
GOT:-like as Kira
Me: Oh.
The subtitles hurt to look at. My eyes are watering like crazy
Dude you have to watch the last 2 episodes of the show in one go!!!
👀
(spoilers from here on)
I also find his relationship with Mello & Matt really interesting because I think he clearly cares about them, I just don't know how much. So yeah, I wish Death Note spent more time exploring its characters more because L too, but especially these three boys are so interesting to me, I really really wish we knew more about their past at Wammy's House.
it's just me or Luke just predicted the future?
In moments like 18:15 i like to pretend that he is saying some pretty obscene shit and the youtube gods are trying to protect our innocent minds.
You got a few things wrong, pay attention to the cell phone at the end.
near is actually 17-18 years old but he behave in this way because there is a big chance that he has autism.
It's possible that playing with toys and sitting with lots of screens around him is his way of staying focused
There are also suspicions that L also has autism, but with less severity, as he was able to communicate with others well despite his strange habits such as the way he sits and his great love for sweets.
Do you? 😂
Code geass next please!
Agreed
Code geass is a fun segway from Death Note indeed
the death note has infinite pages
Near is like 17 or so.. there is this headcanon or.. if it's legit idk.. that Near is on autistic spectrum. That explains his lack of emotions being put into his decisions (unlike Mello. He is really emotional) and his childish traits. Tho Idk if I pick on it correctly but being on autistic spectrum myself I pretty much see it that way. That he is one too. And not only for those stereotypical things.
Same sentiments bro. I'm also a fellow neurodivergent (AuDHD-er).
why are the subtitles so blurry in this episode?
So let’s dive deep without spoilers
N knew that Mikami is x Kira he just needed proof and light wanted that obviously but the reason why there is a fake note is that the fbi don’t steal the real death note but now that mikami uses it’s easy to know which is which which it’s really good for near that’s why it’s important and I think misa might know that light is Kira but she acted like she don’t and that may be light plan to put her closer cuz just look what misa said “I used to like Kira but Light will definitely catch Kira and when he is caught (meaning light ) you would not be left you will be executed “ i mean misa still loves Kira right and misa is more important to light that why she is not dead Mello is like light (scared of dying ) so after seeing the god of death he needs to calculate everything and get that fear out that’s all
Idk if my eyes have just gotten progressively worse but im at the point where i can no longer read the subtitles that are on white backgrounds which tend to show up a lot this show
We did meet the king Shimegami actually
Near is supposed to be some kind of autistic like L but even more severe.
As an aroace woman, Light would have no power over me. I'm not interested in anyone in that way.
After watching whatever you are after FMA Brotherhood, I hope you start watching either Erased,
Gintama, or Fairy Tail soon.
For some reason, the video quality was good but the death note video quality ( the subtitles) seemed to be low quality... hard to read even on a big screen... but tks anyways
Oooooooo
Best not to think of that ranking, the one that says FMAB is no.1, SNK is no. 2 and so on. FMAB is definitely not the best anime I've seen. Ratings are unreliable when it comes to saying what's the best. Even dragon ball series has a 9.5 rating on imdb which is just ridiculous. If the ratings are low, it is clearly an indication that the show is bad tho. This goes with everything in entertainment.
13th day of asking Luke to watch Code Geass cause it's a masterpiece
12:30 the most bullshit scene of the show
It's not bullshit. Ure just a Near hater and u deserve to be bullied
it might be a full fake deathnote. why else would he need to take a picture? unless you would send the picture to the current active kira.
Algorithm
day 3 of reminding not to skip after credits on last ep
Please just finish the remaining episodes in one video
Why?
Is really annoying Misa's voice here, reminds those type of anime comedy i don't like to watch, so high pitch.😖
9:03 Luke gay
