Love all the "Oh My Stars" quilts! It's awesome to see such a variety and it helps spark creativity. The double border around the center block on your swim UFO top looks great. I like how it makes the center float.
I bought an Omnigrid ruler many years ago which is used to cut triangles for on-point blocks. The directions are printed right on the ruler so you don’t “lose” the info. You cut strips, just like Pat did, then cut your triangles with the ruler, and all of the outside edges are on straight of grain👍👍!! LOVE this ruler and have used it many times for on-point quilts, especially when directions in a pattern have you cutting a HUGE square to cut twice on the diagonal for the setting triangles. No need to cut those extra large squares with this ruler. Makes it much more manageable for side triangles of 12” blocks. And the triangles are cut a bit larger so you can trim down later. Not sure if this ruler is made any longer, but there may be another brand out there that can do the same thing.
Really enjoyed seeing all of the Oh My Stars quilts today. Gave me a few ideas n how to use up some fabric for donation quilts👍!

O, MY STARS 🌟 the parade was beautiful! I'm still undecided about my stars😒 I want them to POP! Yes, double frame for center block in your swim team quilt. Still find SLofC is so interesting, will be disappointed when it ends. Great visit today. Will see YOU tomorrow on line.
I liked the single frame a little more than the double, but you’re the boss of your own quilt! I also think a thin inner aqua border (if you have enough) before your bolder border would help the “floaty” look.
When we were small,my brother had a stuffed toy dog named Buffy; and it was that exact color!! Memories ❣️

I prefer the original unframed center block as just the print square, but it IS your quilt and you are the professional here! I totally love the soft aqua for the filler blocks... so perfect !!
BTW, if you run across a Star Trek quilt, I'd love to see it. My younger sis is a MAJOR Trekkie and has even participated in a "Women of Star Trek" podcast. Yes, we're pretty scifi geeky in my family!

I watched the very first Stat Trek episode while in high school. Sort of dates me, ha ha. Love ❤️ it. I’ve seen every movie and every Trek based show. I’ve even seen first season of Piccard. But as to quilts, no. Star Wars quilts yes. I might have to look for Star Trek fabric.
Star Trek was the first TV show my family watched on our very first color TV years ago. Guess that dates me, too.

Interesting about Washington, seems like such a plain color, meanwhile his wife was spending, spending, spending putting him in debt with her fancy clothes and house decorating. Saw that recently on a documentary, so I would guess there was no plain buff in her wardrobe nor her house lol!

How do you figure out what size to cut on point side and corner triangles🔺️? I did an on point quilt, and couldn't figure out the math. I just kept practicing with triangles till it fit. Is there a math calculation to figure it out, like adding 7/8 in to square to get half square triangles to size.

that is a block from Accuquilt die but machine. I don't remember which pattern . i will eventually look up the dies and share it
