I'm new to Elite and yeah it's addicting in it's own way for sure, just the lore makes it special for me given that I always loved the concept of humans in space and yeah it hasn't been easy getting used to how the game works but i've been slowly learning from my mistakes . love the video though, gives me something to look forward to doing.
I found this well interesting. I will be visiting that settlement when I'm back on in a month. Must have been quite the buzz finding it. The doors look like they could open but that doesn't seem possible looking at your experience there. Awesome find though. Not seen a vid about it before. Respect.
I did the same thing finding And exploring this research base the other week. Then I found I had already scanned the logs there before so apparently I was already there once upon a time.
If they Are just scanning it like in this instance, or when collecting escape pods, they don't usually mind live humans on foot at all. When collecting meta alloys, they can lift you up just like SRV

Hey! Thanks for appreciating the vid! Got a few more this kinda styled Thargoid ones you can check out. And that thing was actually I think a rescue ship flying normally in atmosphere. This wasn't a totally unpopulated systems and there were some NPC rescue ships flying around.
I maintain that humanity is the aggressor. I got "xeno friend" decals on my ship and SRV. I dont see why we couldn't live with Thargoids and coexist.....or maybe help them find ammonia based worlds to live on?
This whole "exploration" loop is so half assed! Damn Frontier sucks. They could have at least designed internals and interesting things to find inside the buildings at unmarked places you find on planets like that. Give us something to really explore. But nooo. They just too lazy for that. lol.
I believe that would be a really idea, like physical story telling. Though I can understand why Fdev doesn't do it, I'm sure after the whole odyssey thing they are short staffed. They are likely trying to put the man power where it's needed most. I am happy that we have fully voiced data logs like this.
This base, and many like it, are pre-Odyssey bases intended to provide lore information. They have not been updated for on foot access & likely never will be. There are many to visit however & all are really interesting.
This can be recreated using a Thargoid Probe & your Discovery Scanner. Eject the Probe from your hold, and proceed to scan the system. The probe will release a pulse, shutting your ships systems down whilst simultaneously releasing a signal.
It's really starting to kick in Now. After Salvation's Proteus wave firing, more hostile thargoids began spreading from HIP 22460, new Guardian/thargoid hybrid relic can be obtained, And the unknown anomaly is heading our way, which Is theorised to most likely be Thargoid mothership wake.

Yea, I am prety sure that thargoids in these older locations still behave as they used to, not even immediately aggresive. Not sure however if it always spawns or just has some chance of it in this concrete location.
Wouldn't it be nice if the basilisk parked nearby to also investigate the site at the beginning as well

If we do get on-foot Thargoids, I really hope FDev does something incredible with their designs, not just some generic Insectoid-humanoid hybrid

I know Thargoid ships can lift an SRV while harvesting meta-alloys, and they routinely take escape pods, what do they do to a person on foot?

this was before the war broke out. Do you thing that the Thargoids are still around?
