Heaney was Irish, we all know that (even if some people try to make him being born in NI an issue). Biden isn't.
Biden is no more Irish than I am (both sides of my family Irish) but some Irish people think he is Irish, He's a good politician , and he plays on Irish American delusions, given that they are simultaneously more Irish than the Irish and more American that the Americans.
What Heaney would think about being co-opted into US politics is anyone's guess.
What's surprising is that anyone, Irish or American, falls for it.

Here's hoping Heaney's legacy (he was from Northern Ireland, BTW which is in the UK. A world leader should know his geography and history), will not be tarnished by you cynically encroaching on his reputation to enhance your own.
