I love that a Nobel Prize Winner frequently used ‘you know?’ in everyday conversation.

Star quality, talent, charisma still stand out even 40 years on. Eternal in some way. Effortless. While the presenter looks like someone of the moment; a head of language studies in a minor comprehensive school from 1979 with his best suit on. Forgotten.

What a bizarre comment. Needless superficiality, classism... And what the hell might a 'major' comprehensive school look like? Guffaw!

@@louduva9849 "Even 40 years on" is hilarious. Heaney will be read as long as literacy lasts, a bit longer than 40 years.

Forgotten? So you have to be famous to be important? Don't think so small.

What a beautiful man. Shame is always on one’s back as an Englishman - BUT that we have been under the boot of these bastards that control us as hard as anyone.
All my Kentish ancestors ever wanted was idyllic peace and quiet… We didn’t get so much - and now we are destroyed.
God Bless Ireland -and if, some day some can dig up the corpse of the true English (good) people and revivify it - then God Bless old England too.
(Make no mistake, those waving her flag and singing her songs now are about as English as the bastards who persecuted the Irish and did so much else of a disgusting nature with my ancestors -the REAL English.

Why does this interviewer keep interrupting his guest... almost going off from the point?
