    Time to sit back with a hot tea and do some learning from other people's mistakes. Kudos to everyone brave enough to submit their terrible timings

    This is one great way to make an educational videos.
    Over the years that I've been following the channel, I always thought that it was seriouly missing something more instructional with details and reasons, something more focused on teaching people how and why to do each part rather than just watching it being done, "this here, that there".
    This video series is very good at that because it not only points out the mistakes that are being made by people but shows them what and why they are wrong and what they could try to do right or better, something like when you correct a student's exercise or solve problems in class.

    A lot of people have learnt how to memory overclock from watching your videos.
    It's cool that people can show you what they have learnt and for you to look at their timings. There weren't as many roast this time around so people are learning more I guess. Thanks for your videos.

    Im the guy with the M12A and basically any timing that wasnt lower couldn't go lower or I didnt get any performance improvement. Latency in Aida is between 35 and 34.5 ns. CPU running 52/48 (Ring gets pissy any higher). I run HT off because I get a lil boost in my games, mostly better lows. I came over from a 5800X because I found Ryzen memory overclocking to be on the boring side.

      @jackoneill84 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Ulexos CO +50mhz for cores so it boosted to 4900mhz on a single core, all core was around 4750mhz. Ram was DR 3800 14-8-13-13-21 tRC 36 with secondary/tertiary timings tightened down as far as I could get them. This was the same profile I used on my R5 3600. Which is why I got bored, decided to go 10th gen to see what RAM oc was like. Didnt lose any gaming performance, actually gained with my current settings.

    43:12 Cezanne apparently can handle high SoC-voltage. When I was looking for iGPU overclocking guides for my 5600G, some of them recommended going straight to 1.3V SoC (iGPU is running off of vSoC). The 5600G is running 1.34V SoC for 2267MHz FCLK, but that's because my board's vSoC VRMs are terrible and as soon as I put any load on the iGPU, the vSoC drops by up to .1V. I'd love to push my FCLK and MEM-speed higher, and the CPU and memory could go higher, but only as long as the iGPU is in sleep mode. I can boot into memtest and have it run for hours, but as soon as windows boots and the iGPU boosts, the system just straight up hard resets 😒 so if you're running Cezanne with a dGPU, you can probably go much higher on the FCLK.

    Apparently the TWRRDs being left as 11 was a byproduct of me trying to stabilize TRDWRs at 11 (which didn't work, Windows froze lol) and getting shit mixed up from how much of a clusterfuck Asus's organization is with Z690 and tertiaries. TWRRD_dr/dd are TM5 Absolute stable at 7/7 but I haven't really tested it with anything else.

    Hello, can you make a complete guide of ddr5 overclocking please. I now that exists millions of guides, but I haven't seen 1 good for ddr5. I have seen that for ddr5 the difference is the secondary timings, primary timings dosen't do anything. I have Adata XPG Lancer 6000mhz 40 40 40 76 kit (no RGB😭) oced to 6400 36 36 36 72 1,40V but i only improved the velocity (98000mb/s 68ns). Now, I want to improve latencies but have no idea

      MSI pro Z690-a wifi, 12700k (no kf, still needing the igpu😅), mars gaming ml360w, case is the mtallicgear neo qube white.
      The 12700k is oced to 5,2 p-cores, 4,1 e-cores, 39 ring, 1,355v and igpu 39x (1950mhz I think). If I go higher on ring, win 11 is in "black" when is starting, simply is slow.

    • @NVMDSTEvil
      @NVMDSTEvil 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Its not that primaries dont do anything, they just do "less". Blowing out the primaries to go max frequency isnt necessarily the best, but finding your scaling values for the primaries so get your best frequency/timings is what should be done.

It's seems to be pretty difficult to get up-to-date and reliable OC info for older DDR4 platforms like X99 or Z170 whereas info for newer platform can be found easily.

      My cpu is really picky about bios. Anything up to 0901 4500 is EZ. Any bios after and I have trouble stabilizing 4000. I dont know why. Only other person I've seen with my RTL/IOLs is a friend I helped. I sold him a one of my old DR kits and he booted 61/62/7/7. He also input my timings before training. I knew the kit and told him what it can run. Not sure if having the timings in first causes the board to train tighter. But my newer kit trains 61/62/7/7 and I do iol offset to get 6/6.

    Dude I had adjusted my memory timings like 5 months ago or maybe even more. I am not gonna touch em but when the hell will you ask us to share our memory overclock stuff? Mine is not that good I know but mostly some of the timings you mention are even better than you're recommending... On asrock timing configurator and intel 11th gen mem controller, starting from the right side bottom it's like 7 7 4 8 5 7 22 24 15 15 15 15 6 8 4 8 6 54168 and then on the left side bottom to top 41 40 40 40 12 16 8 4 6 4 4 460 16 CR 1 tRas 28 trp21 trcd 21 tcl17, 4000 mbps gear mode 2, on intel 11400f cpu and b560 tomahawk wifi mobo, this thing does not overclock further, I don't have voltage control on the memory controller in this board therefore this is my daily system the way it overclocks it's probably fine... But tell me, will I gain 5% more performance if I reduce the clock speed of the memory but take it to gear 1 mode especially during code compiling, cause sometimes it takes like 20 minutes. I'd appreciate if I can take it down to like 17 minutes lol... I'll sell this system and then buy a 5950x and overclock the hell outta the memory... Also these dimms are all of them are hynix djr... at 1.45v I have all 4 slots occupied by total of 32 memory chips...

    First Setup - stable (saved it as profile)
    Next Setup - dont boot
    Loaded back to first profile - Dont boot anymore (8+ tries)
    Reset bios, loaded profile 1 - Dont boot
    Try really wacky settings - boot
    Set exactly same settings from profile 1 just per hand - boot

      @Dennzer1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nickpowell7432 Because it is no longer a viable tool. It spits out "bad" timings. It is also out of date. You'll notice that the latest version doesn't even have Zen 3 CPUs in the selection process, nor is the mobo option list up to date iirc.
      and many people have reported their PCs experiencing dramatic shifts in stability, with an increase in either BSODs or random re-boots, plus errors in RAM that can lead to fatal system flaws if left unchanged.
      Most importantly, there exists a github page with proper instructions on how to overclock RAM safely and effectively, which doesn't require that DRAM calc thing.
