I worked at a family friends business for most of the 30k i have saved up for the car, so I understand the value of the money im gonna be spending. Im gonna get a lower mileage base model so the worries about reliability are a little better. Ive been driving my brothers gt 5.0 for the last 2 years (not legally lol) and i understand what its like to drive a fast car. Thanks for the video I think the main thing i realized from this is how big of an issue gas mileage is but ill still be working and its worth it to me because of how much i love the c6
I never owned a car but do drive my family's SUV that's 300hp, so 400hp shouldn't be a huge leap if I were to get one. I do know high hp RWD is way different than a 300hp FWD but I'm up for the challenge. At 24 I'm a little late to the car game but I'm down to get one of these babies as my own first car.
Definitely won't recommend as a first car...too much power and the lack of driving experience is a recipe for disaster. I've owed a few cars including another sports car and I can truly say, my c6z is a beast without mods. In my teens and early twenties as I wanted was to go fast and I did. A few speeding tickets and higher insurance rates forced me to mature as a driver. I got my vette when I was 48 and it was the right time for me. My advice is drive something cheap and less costly to repair. A vette is not cheap to repair or pay for gas if you daily it. However with all that say, it is an amazing car and if you do get it as a first car...get to know your car first and drive safe.
Ive owned an 05 an 07 C6 base both new. Then purchased a new Z06 09 when I was 41. I still own it and drive it quite often. But only my girl has driven it occasionally. They're not toys and even replacing a clutch and torque tube was about 3500.

Add in a 6 speed manual to an LS2 or LS3 C6 and its a different animal. My Z06 even when it was stock was a neck snapper. Good luck
