I am curious what brake fluid is in the Z06 from factory. My 21 ZL1 used dot 3 fluid and I stopped overheating the brakes entirely moving to some motul fluid. The factory fluids GM uses quite often are not good enough.
Hi Misha. With my autism I would like so much to watch the dashboard after the runs just to see the engine cooling. Maybe some others like it as well. Anyways, thanks for reading, take care.
Great Video Misha. Thank you for sharing it. Base price in the USA - $112,000 1LZ ($105,000 EUR). $126,000 3LZ (118,000 EUR). Way less than GT3. People are now getting the Z06 at MSRP as supplies increase. Were the seats GT1, GT2 or Competition? The US center exhaust is louder. More power. GM defines the Corvette as a high bandwidth car. GT, Sport and now Supercar. Lots of storage compared to typical super cars. (They have an obsession with enough space to store golf clubs.) This adds some weight to the car.
Being a hardcore fan of European cars I have to admit that GM made a VERY capable track monster! Amazing laps Misha, even I was pressing the non existent break pedal after I saw the blue M2 coming out of the foxhole😅

@@rwilson4073 Yeah the actual document they recieved about why they were being denied was super offensive at least in my opinion. It's weird it's like they have this whole thing wanting t o bring as many Americans fans as they can into the sport yet won't let the team that would actually help do that in like they want American money but don't want them in the sport itself.
The Z06 is absolutely no joke. I had some bad food the night before driving one of these for review. I drove it so hard on track the next day I made myself throw up. Everybody rips on American cars for not being as “fast” as German cars but when a good driver shows up with a corvette or blackwing people get real quiet
Ford versus Ferrari shut that noise up 58 years ago. European cars have mystique because they are from far away. However, whenever the Euro's gets too vocal they get put in their place
Keep in mind: a) The US version of the Z06 has 25 more horsepower. b) The US version is much LOUDER, sounds amazing c) This isn't even the top performance spec as it doesn't have the carbon fiber wheels.
I think it’s fair to say that the C8 has firmly shattered the notion that American sports cars don’t corner. I don’t think anyone in the EU saw this car coming.
@@D.Magic_ two different Viper iterations damn near held Nordshleife production records. C6R was rather successful in motorsport. Lord knows what the final Ford GT variant would do if they got serious about setting a time.
Well, even the latest Camaro platform that’s being discontinued is a track weapon - and you wouldn’t suspect it. Lots of automotive reviewers give praise to GM’s chassis engineers.
It's just unbelievable that a naturally aspirated 640hp V8 engine with redline at 8500rpm is able to maintain temps at 100c while being driven this hard. I’m short of words.
GM admitted that they made compromises to handle the 1164 horsepower and torque in the suspension and the traction control. 700 horsepower is a sweet spot. 1200 doesn’t mean it’s faster around the track. The C7 ZR1 wasn’t better than the Z06
@@jimsteinway695I mean the extra ponies probably won’t do much around the corners or from 0-60, but I’d bet that something as big as 494 extra horses would give it a pretty considerable advantage on rowing through the gears on the straights and I’d guess would knock the 100-200 time down fairly significantly, wouldn’t you think? It’s not a difference of 150 or even 300 horsepower. It’s almost 500 more than the Z06, it’ll definitely count for something, it’s got hypercar level power. At the very least, it matches the Z06 every time the wheel turns left or right, but leaves it in the dust as soon as that steering wheel mark is back in position
@@Smoke--- there are definite advantages for sure. I’m just wondering what the compromise was in suspension and traction control mean? On long tracks like a NASCAR track with infield road course it could be devastating. And at a track like Big Willow but what about a turn filled track? We’ll have to see. I’m on this list. But I wonder if it’s going to be analogous to the GT3 vs GT2RS issue where the GT2 has twin turbos and 300 more horsepower but most people think the GT3 normally aspirated is more fun to drive and a better balanced package. Where do the turbos kick in? Is GM using electronic turbos that would eliminate lag, and will they use electronic waste gates? All questions we need answers to. On paper it sure looks like a monster but I’m not much of a drag strip guy, more of a track rat.
@@jimsteinway695 I completely agree with you, I’m wondering what they meant as well. As for which will be more fun, personally, I’d imagine it’s pretty hard to beat a naturally aspirated flat plane crank V8 that revs to 8600 RPM, but GM has just come out with improvement after improvement with the C8 lineup, it’s hard to believe the ZR1 is anything less than absolute insanity considering what they’ve already accomplished with the previous models. The fact that the base model, the stingray, does a 2.9 second 0-60 is insane. Every new model has been incredible, so I would think now that they’re 3 for 3 that the ZR1 should be the same. Only time will tell 🤷🏽♂️
He was doing 1.79 G cornering in the 992 GT3 RS., and up to 1.91 G braking. Hence why he's saying the Z06 is more like the regular GT3 or the Cayman GT4 RS. Pretty confident the regular GT3 will beat the Z06 in the corners, but the Z06 will be faster in a straight line.
10:29 "The brakes are good" with the most devious smile ever 🤣🤣 Misha always manages to make me laugh and be terrified in every video and I love it! Amazing lap thanks Misha ❤🏁
CASUAL 1.3-1.4g in both cornering AND braking, and not even remotely on the limit except in a couple cases. With the full Z07 package, carbon wheels, and full track tires, it can pull nearly 1.6g - which is NUTTY. We're talking 5-10% faster cornering speeds, so a hundred mile an hour sweeper becomes a 110 mph sweeper. And those limits get higher, but also harder to stay at.
My thought exactly Misha never underestimate your skill level especially at The Green Hell you my friend have alot more track time and laps on that track then many professional drivers of course it doesn't hurt that's your home track and you make a living driving that specif track but you are a amazingly talented driver who is more then capable behind the wheel of any vehicle you get in please never forget that so many people bring their cars to you to lap because kf this an they know that you are capable of squeezing most of the vehicles potential out of it more then they themselves would be able to do.
Misha, don't be bashful... You say you aren't a "Professional Driver" but you do spend most of your driving time on Nordschleife. If you get to pick a course to "play on" you could do a whole lot worse!! 😅 You get more serious real-time practice than any other "amateur" driver I can think of. You keep driving... we'll keep watching! Thanks for views.
I love your perspective as a European, the Z06 doesn't always get a fair shake outside the US. I own a 2023 Z06 3LZ Convertible, and it's the best car I've ever owned. I drove it 610 miles home the first day in comfort, tech is awesome, practicality is great (I can put two carry on bags in the rear and one in the front), heated/ac seats, and it cost me $150k. I drove one on track last month and it was incredible. The Z06 is competing head to head with the GT3, Ferrari, Maserati, Lambo etc. and 1/2 to 1/3 the price and better tech and usability.
Hell yes. I was waiting for this. Menzel for AMS recently said this was in his Top 5 ever. Thanks so much to the donor, especially for bringing it on a weekday (less traffic) and on proper tires.
Not sure why the C8 Z06 performance surprises anyone. For the past 2 generations, C6 and C7, the Corvette in Z06 trim has always been a track shredder.
Yeah this thing has been a long time coming. Literally the only reason they moved to mid-engine was because they had finally maxed out what FR could do. But you know how it is. Once you have a certain reputation it takes a black swan to get people to notice and reevaluate.
I can already tell this car is going to be an absolute classic. It's crazy to say that for the price they are charging for it, it's an complete steal. I still can't afford it, but wow. Such an amazing vehicle. That engine is just *chef's kiss*.
Of all the American V8 sports/muscle cars (I mean, I guess the Corvette is the only true sports V8 the US has had since the viper?), this one deserves the price. Everything else is overpriced as fuck, ESPECIALLY Dodge.
1.5Gs, while trail braking hard, on road legal tires and relatively tame aero stuff without any (seen) upset from the car is incredible. I knew the new Z was fast, but good lord! I thought the C6 and C7 were impressive (and I WILL own a C6 Z06 one day), but the C8 is just on another level of planted. Very smooth driving as well, you always make it look easy!
This video is impressive to watch. The way the thing moves, it looks like it's not even going fast, then you glance at the scenery flying buy and check the speedo and it's absolutely mental. Really well done on the gauge cluster as well. If I remember right there is some way to plug in a USB that can save your laps right from the glovebox, not sure if you utilized this feature at all. Americans do love the sound of the traditional pushrod V8, but this modern machine is an absolute workhorse

That fuel level on the second lap, it would have made me quite uncomfortable. Impressed by how low the temps kept given how and where it was driven… very nice laps, thanks Misha.
Compared to the C7 Z06 temps are night and day different. The C8 Z06 has so much cooling and benefits from being naturally aspirated. I believe GM tested and claimed that you can run it 24 hours straight with just fuel & tires.
Yep, GM learned their lesson with the C7 Z06, and I’m sure the Corvette engineers were determined to not be embarrassed like that again. The same LT4 motor worked just fine in the ZL1 due to that car having the proper cooling, and team Corvette pretty much butchered the C7 ZR1 front end so that it wouldn’t overheat on the track. With the C8 Stingray, and especially the Z06 with how powerful and high strung the LT6 is, the fact that it stays as cool as it does on track over the course of an entire session is mightily impressive. The radiators inside that thing are absolutely enormous and efficient.
that 5.5 liter pretty sure is based on the ISMA racing 5.5 liter that is limited to ~550hp. its a displacement they used for years racing in that done many 24h races.
The only real review I have seen on this car! Its amazing! I have never seen the engine being revved that high by any reviewer!! It loves it. Opinion officially changed.
Great driving! I agree, would love to see this done on a proper track day, we have been waiting for this day and it did not disappoint other than the traffic lol ! A few notes: 1. Brakes-wise, there are track-only brake ducts which come with the car unmounted that should be mounted up below the car for track use. Maybe the owner missed this? Also the brakes are supposed to be burnished early in life per a procedure in the owners manual prior to track use. 2. There is a track alignment spec for the car, not sure if the driver had this done but it does change camber settings which would also make a difference.
They were running 3 degrees of camber, up from the stock setting. This was mentioned in the intro. Not sure about the rest of it, but there's a decent chance that prep work was done. Apex Motorsport Luxembourg (who own the car) are a performance modding outfit. It seems unlikely that they'd miss recommended track prep before a trip to the Nordschleife.
I really like how you hold the throttle in your turns. Most drivers slow down and coast through the turns... Which is just dumb. You brake, set your speed and then hold the throttle and accelerate smoothly on the way out. Very impressive.
I own a 22 SS 1LE and got the pleasure of driving the C8 with Z07 & the C8 Z06.. The regular C8, Naaa.. not the biggest fan, its nice, but not as brutal as my near 600whp SS 1LE, especially since my car is manual.. But the C8 Z06, is a brutal grip animal.. That chassis and power level are perfect for track work.. Its flat out insane that Chevrolet got to this level with the new Corvette..
I currently own a C7 Z06 (manual, so doesn't go limp mode but still heat soaks) and wasn't sure whether to upgrade to a 570S Track Pack or a C8 Z06 as they're about the same price in the US (used). This video has heavily swayed me to the latter. I think the Z07 package version of this car would have addressed the things you wanted to see (brakes, suspension stiffness). C8s with Z07 are very hard to find in the US and probably have $30k markup on used market.
I would wait a bit more. Like when ZR1 is out, and the car market as a whole cools down a bit more, garage queen Z06s are gonna be incredible deals imo.
@@martinzhang5533 You probably still won’t ever find a C8 Z06 for under $100,000. It’s a way different world than when the C7 Z06 started at around $80,000.
Ok, we should talk about that suspension, compared to so many other fast cars. This car was so smooth and so sorted out at the same time - like magic. Was the track repaved? Where did all the bumps go? Why was there so little need to move the steering wheel? It was like just point the car where you wanted to go and job done. Nothing seemed to unsettle the car. A car moving that fast with so little drama, really did seem like magic. That’s the goal of suspension but normally there are trade-offs. Except for the engine sounds, how fast the corners are coming up and how fast the scenery is going by, you would think you were out for a Sunday drive in a luxury car on smooth roads. There were no sounds except the engine revving up and down and some talking at normal volume. I think I would like a bit more engine sound for times like on the track or out in the canyons, just to increase the drama a bit. But otherwise, it seems like a car you could daily, take on road trips and thoroughly enjoy yourself, which is crazy given how capable the car is on the track. I’m super impressed with what Chevrolet has done with the Corvette. It’s breadth of capabilities reminds me of what Accura did with the original NSX. The company and the people who contributed to the car’s development should be very proud of what they’ve accomplished.
Yeah, MagneRide is beautiful. We had it all the way back in 2004 in Cadillacs before Ferrari first licensed it from GM. Then everybody started catching on lol.
KEEP IN MIND you didn’t even have the carbon fiber wheels that saves 40lbs in rotation mass… and also you can get more aggressive seats called competition seats which your spec did not have. Also since this wasn’t a real z07 it didn’t have stiffer springs and doesn’t have the better steering that comes with the carbon wheels option. The reason why your brakes felt funny is because GM recommends 5.1 dot braking fluid for track use, but use 4.0 dot for street.
It has the Z07 package ;). Competition seats are carbon fiber wheels are indeed missing but I would strongly advise not to use them on the Nordschleife.

Misha, You are the driver to break 7:00 in a corvette! You know the track and the car fits you well! If GM’s marketing was smart they would throw you and your channel an offer!
adding onto that, Misha was holding back and the car was nerfed because of emissions - if they both had been allowed to go at the track at full power they'd easily breeze past the 7 minute barrier with no problem.
Of course that would be awesome to see but rest assured, no matter what he runs on it, there are several professional Vette racers that would shred his time. While he’s clearly an awesome driver, even he knows and admits that.
@@REDSHlFT Though this isn’t about getting, ”Shredded”, there is no doubt there are pro drivers who can turn a better lap. This is about a 7:00 lap in a Corvette. Sounds so stress free, so calm, shifting at 8,500+. This is the best performance engine in GM and maybe US manufacturing history. The rest of the hardware also delivers 100% and even the colour is good. Now they need to think about the body shape.
The truly scary thing is that this is **only** the Z06.....the eventual ZR1 is probably where you'll see your stiffer suspension, better seats, and god knows what else. Great drive, especially the second half of the second lap. Super fun!
Eh, this car wasn’t a full fat Z07. That car gives you the stiffer FE7 suspension, cup 2rs as standard, carbon fiber wheels, underbody strakes, and you can spec the car with buckets. You wouldn’t need a ZR1 to slap everything on the track.
What a car. I was getting goose bumps from watching how controlled and stable this car is. It going to be a Porsche vs GM. I think GM already beat Porsche on the pricing.

Gearing is probably one of the biggest issues with the C8 in general performance wise. Unfortunately tall gearing from 5th-8th for fuel economy ratings.
@@rwilson4073Yeah. I think GM were going to shorten the gears for the Z06, as the car is certainly more than capable of doing 200+ mph if the Stingray can already touch 190mph, but the same gearing set up holds it back. They basically set it up and tuned the gearbox for track duty, but that leaves gears 6-8 basically overdrive gears, so practically useless. That’s the only real Achilles heel for the Z06, E-Ray, and Stingray imo. Hopefully though, the ZR1 gets a revised gearbox to properly utilize the sheer amount of torque it’ll surely have.
@@danieldickerson4838 A transmission labeled M1K appeared in the GM parts catalog under the LT7 engine for a short period of time, so it looks like it will be getting a beefed-up Tremec. Hopefully transmission reliability issues will also be ironed out since that has been a problem for some owners.
It’s the z06 it’s supposed to be driven like a gt or a cruiser most of the time. Traditionally in corvettes the z06 is just a sporty grandpa car but the zr1 is the mean track one
Misha, some of your concerns may be down to spec. Where the seats are concerned, the C8 comes with three seat options GT1, GT2 and competition. From what I am able to see in the video it appears that Z06 you drove has the GT2 seats, the competition seats have more bolstering, though a fair amount people say that still isn't enough. Also if you spec the Z06 with carbon wheels, it gets slightly stiffer settings with a different steering calibration. Those may address some of the concerns you have, but I'm not sure on availability of options in the EU. Another fair assessment in both your stingray and z06 impressions is the fact that the engine needs to breathe more. All C8's have a compromised air box so the car can have the amount of rear trunk space it has. An Eventuri intake on the z06 has netted about 40 wheel horsepower in the mid-range because those engineers didn't prioritize trunk space, the intake protrudes into it for a better size and shape. Sorry for the rant, but the American car nerd in me got excited.
For the carbon wheels, i dont think it changes the steering calibration. Thats that the z07 package does alone. Im saying that because i got a c8 z06 z07 with normal wheels and the steering is revised for the cup 2 r tires not necessarily the carbon wheels
@@TheilliterateLibrarian I have heard from a lot of sources that the carbon fiber wheels do make enough of a change for them to alter the steering calibration. You are saving ~41 lbs of unsprung rotating mass after all.
@@rwilson4073 hmm maybe you are right. Im curious to really find out since i can technically swap the normal forged aluminum wheels to carbon wheels if i wanted in the future. Regardless the z07 package USA spec is track ready even without the carbon wheels
@@TheilliterateLibrarian Very true, track performance is fairly ridiculous no matter the spec. There is probably some improvement to adding carbon wheels, but they are expensive/impossible to repair and more fragile and difficult to mount tires on, so like Cup 2Rs there's a sacrifice to be made for improved lap times.
@@rwilson4073 yup agreed. I didn’t option the carbon wheels because they’re $12k option. I didn’t that it was worth the improved performance for that price. The z07 alone gets you the aero, stiffer suspension and cup 2r’s and ceramic brakes
The C8 Corvette is basically the cheat code to supercar performance. It's primary competitors are Lambos and Ferraris in terms of 'market share', but it's half the price without skimping on the performance, and that's before getting into the higher trim levels.
The corvette is the democratization of the super car. With GM support, the ever expanding aftermarket modifications coming online, this car is going to have the same effect on super cars that Lexus had on luxury cars when the LS400 was released back in the 90's.
this guy has got some serious nerves of steel; also, an extraordinary and acute sense of track awareness & assessment. bravo to you, good sir, and three cheers 🏁
The accelerometer display really shows how fast this car much better than the camera view and speedo do. On some of the low speed corners, I was thinking to myself that it didn’t look that fast; then I saw the 1.4g readout.

It's a shame the seats aren't more supportive. Then again, Chevy knew their target audience. People who will most likely never go to a track and just parade around town doing pulls at traffic lights. I'm glad to see one getting used the way it's supposed to be used.
Nice to see a performance car in such capable hands. I think it’s the first time I’ve watched you go around Nordschleife without fighting the car the whole way.

GM admitted that they made compromises to handle the 1164 horsepower and torque in the suspension and the traction control. 700 horsepower is a sweet spot. 1200 doesn’t mean it’s faster around the track. The C7 ZR1 wasn’t better than the Z06

Yep, GM learned their lesson with the C7 Z06, and I’m sure the Corvette engineers were determined to not be embarrassed like that again. Great driving! I agree, would love to see this done on a proper track day, we have been waiting for this day and it did not disappoint other than the traffic lol ! A few notes:

Spot on
Mag ride man. When you're done tracking throw it in tour mode for the way home and it's like driving a caddy.
The US-spec z06 is MUCH louder than this. The European model has a particulate filter equipped in the exhaust that muffles the sound quite a bit.
Also those are carbon ceramic brakes, which require a special burnishing procedure prior to track use which may not have been done.
It has the Z07 package ;). Competition seats are carbon fiber wheels are indeed missing but I would strongly advise not to use them on the Nordschleife.

PS. The car you drove did not have CF Rims. I hope that the next one you gonna drive is gonna have those and a modified exhaust so it’s probably gonna be even more epic!
He may have the skill, but there's also an element of not caring about dying that gets you record times. He's too smart for that lol
@@483SGT It is said there are old pilots and bold pilots, but there are no old bold pilots. The saying probably holds true for auto racing as well.
There is huge value in a non race car driver doing it for two reasons: 1. It puts the vette into Supercar lap time. 2. Chevrolet Marketing can sell Misha to the public as an average, car loving guy. Car buyers would think (though incorrectly) if he can do, they can too.
Holy hell dude.
I am one of your American viewers and have always been in agreement that we were (are) behind our European friends in the subject of making a car quick and drivable around the green hell.
This thing however =wow
You are modest , you may not be a “professional” racing driver but you certainly know car control whilst driving in anger.
Well done from South Carolina
We are not behind anyone. We just choose to exceed in other areas. Now we are going to exceed in performance cars because we are bored.
temps stayed good ✅
no fuel starvation even when it was really low✅
Fast! ✅
Looks like a proper build track car 💪🏻
One of the very few cars i've not skipped any part of the first lap time on. What a MASTERPIECE
Super fun!
You can already option the racing seats on all models. I have them and they’re fantastic.
Eh, this car wasn’t a full fat Z07. That car gives you the stiffer FE7 suspension, cup 2rs as standard, carbon fiber wheels, underbody strakes, and you can spec the car with buckets. You wouldn’t need a ZR1 to slap everything on the track.
@@danieldickerson4838 ZR1 will probably have all of that and/or more, plus more power no doubt.
@@whatta7793 It better when it’s probably gonna be 200K lol.
It will also be heavier and heat soak more easily. I wouldn’t expect huge gains…..look at 991.2 GT3 RS vs 991.2 GT2 RS times for proof
Bumps, curbs, corners, it handles so well! What a car 🤯
Good job handling all that traffic. I raced a carbon 65 vet on a smaller track with no traffic. Soooo much fun.
What a lap. "Planted" would be an understatement to describe the no-drama handling setup.
What a car. I was getting goose bumps from watching how controlled and stable this car is. It going to be a Porsche vs GM. I think GM already beat Porsche on the pricing.
in the US it is half the price of gt3 and you can walk right up to a dealership and buy one, not like gt3 where you have buy multiple crappy cars before they let you buy what you want : (
As usual, the Vette will win in costs, the 911 in everything else.
Peak Acceleration per gauge:
- 1.38 G in Braking @19:26
- 1.42 G in L turn @21:14
- 1.54 G in R turn @10:13
Only flat out turns were sub 1G
All others exceeded 1G basically.
VERY impressive, & maybe higher, bc partial data:
Lap 1 bc of tire pressure alarm & Lap 2 bc of fuel.
That's low, I think there is some kind of average
It's like watching at 1.5x speed. Crazy fast car !
Looks like that thing could do sub 7 lap. It's amazing how smooth that thing is
hagerty tested this against the gt3 rs and m3 csl with Randy Pobst behind the wheel...gt3 rs beat it by a healthy margin....
@@ZKozak-hp5vb But it tore the regular GT3 a new one at VIR, don't forget. And that car is already a 6:55.
@@ZKozak-hp5vb i guess healthy depends on personal perception, i believe it was 6 tenths or so, and the vette is half the price
@@ZKozak-hp5vbI mean the fact it was half the price and kept up is insane ntm this isn’t the zr1 too so I can’t wait also curious to see how good their hybrid awd is. Apparently the hybrid awd is supposed to be rly good 😎

N.Cal: As an American, and a Chevy/GM guy, I'm a little bias, but these Corvettes are amazing, and they seem to get better every year. Great driving, great video/explanations, and jokes (Private jets that burn 45,000lbs of fuel, one way, for 1 person, lol. "Rules for thee.")
Went back to the 992 GT3 RS video. Turn in at Schwedenkreuz was about 10kph slower in this car, but much faster than most. Also, in the US this car costs about half of the GT3 RS. Pretty good deal.
1/3 of the GT3RS. Half of GT3.
You couldn't get 992 gt models on msrp, not even close.
Same price as a lightly used 992 GT3 here, the C8 is not a cheap car over here in Europe sadly, the base model is about the same as 911 aswell.
Misha said “i would be very curious to see what the car could do with a racecar professional” brother you are a professional driver. Don’t sell yourself short.
He doesn’t get paid to be a race car driver.
This guy is a great driver. He obviously knows the track but still... very nice!
Holy smokes that looked insanely fast
I swear, either a lot of them other drivers weren’t even looking in their rear view mirrors, or Misha was just that fast! Seemed like they were unaware and almost caused accidents a few times. Also, you know it’s serious when Misha has to adjust his glasses during the run! 😅 Props!
I found myself looking for a brake pedal of my own at times because you were absolutely tearing through this track like a madlad. At the end “I’d really wish I was able to push the car hard, hopefully I can next time”
What?!! Hahaha. You are on another level. Great video
That thing is absolutely zooming over the track!
I still think This Corvette is what new NSX suppose to look like at lest for me. Id so love to have c8 never been vette fan but love the design the sound and that is good price.
It's basically the american Ferrari 458 in modern and more Powerful!😎👌

Im not sure if you read my post a few vids back but i asked you to add a rearview camera and its spectacular. It really helps show the speed of the cars, thanks Misha.
The front End response is incredible!
😮
Only if the gearbox ratios were shorter...
@@rwilson4073 Good to hear. With that car having turbos, it’ll definitely need a beefier unit.
It’s the z06 it’s supposed to be driven like a gt or a cruiser most of the time. Traditionally in corvettes the z06 is just a sporty grandpa car but the zr1 is the mean track one
1.5 lateral gs with street tires and relatively modest aero is actually insane... the level of mechanical grip is unreal.
Revisiting Misha's run. I agree that the Z06 could be sub 7. Lets pray that GM gets a good run for it, Eray & ZR1
Nice! Ever since the C8 Z06 came out, I've waited for a Nordschleife video of it!
That thing sounds smooth as silk. Definitely need to get a track day for this car, absolute unit.
Most impressed by oil/water temps. Far better than majority of Euro cars
The car looks super planted and stable at speed through the corners, even over bumps, very impressive.
The corvette is the democratization of the super car. With GM support, the ever expanding aftermarket modifications coming online, this car is going to have the same effect on super cars that Lexus had on luxury cars when the LS400 was released back in the 90's.
As a viewer that was the best car I’ve seen you drive. It looked like it was on rails. Even the first lap heavy breaking seemed somewhat in control.
this guy has got some serious nerves of steel; also, an extraordinary and acute sense of track awareness & assessment. bravo to you, good sir, and three cheers 🏁
The accelerometer display really shows how fast this car much better than the camera view and speedo do. On some of the low speed corners, I was thinking to myself that it didn’t look that fast; then I saw the 1.4g readout.
You can see how well sorted the car is even through video
Good video! My wife was curious about what I was watching…”so you’re watching someone drive around?”. Me: “Yeah, a Z06 C8 hauling ass on the Nordschleife”. Her”uh, whatever”. She loves my C8 Z51, but still doesn’t totally get the vibe. I’m going to get her on the track at Laguna Seca this Summer and maybe she’ll clue in, or just scare the crap outta her.
Pulling close to 1.5 g in the corners just absolutely no problem, absolutely amazing 🤩
Thanks to you i finally took a break from studying 😁 great lap, really enjoyed it! That Z06 is faster than i imagined
Here in the US, prices start at ~99000€ (and the car has 670 hp here) 🙂
Brakes are good for sure! That blue bmw rear end got alot closer than most want :D
Been waiting for the Z06 to make it your way!
It's a shame the seats aren't more supportive. Then again, Chevy knew their target audience. People who will most likely never go to a track and just parade around town doing pulls at traffic lights. I'm glad to see one getting used the way it's supposed to be used.
@RageQuitTommy you can get buckets, just was not picked as the option!
Nice to see a performance car in such capable hands. I think it’s the first time I’ve watched you go around Nordschleife without fighting the car the whole way.
I bought a C8 because, after an unplanned test drive, I was very surprised by how easy it was to drive, as you commented. I wasn't circling the Nurburgring, but on a few curvy roads, I felt absolutely at home and comfortable in the car despite the limited rear view (resolved by the camera mirror) and a lot of suspension adjustability and other doo-dads that should have confused me. I found the car and the various settings menus to be intuitive and natural. GM hit a home run.
