    • @tbobborap1
      @tbobborap1  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      hi bob, the plugs are brilliant and save so much time - check them out here on the global rc website -
      www.gashanger.com/index.php/servo-extension-leads-accessories/kuza-servo-extension-multiplug-3-wire
      these are 3 way (ailerons, retracts, flaps) he (paul) also sells the two way plugs, they are not cheap (you need two sets - one for each wing) but do make your life so easy !
      ive bought another pair for my h9 p-47 im building !
      dont worry about them falling out as deano uses them on his 3d models and has never had one fail under hi G loading !
      check out our second video of the mussy flying if you like then go to the photos at the end and youll see my set up and close up pics of the plugs etc - hope all this helps bob - a piece of advice - the oleos that come with the kit are crap soft alloy so any hard landings will bent the tubes and the retracts will not go back up in the wing so be carefull or throw them away and fit stronger oleos ! let me know how she flies etc - regards pete

    Hello just wondering what fuel mix and type of oil you use that engine never missed a beat , ive got the same model and am a little nervous on putting the cowl on it as my past 4 warbirds have all over heated or had some form of vapour lock do you do anything special to cool the engine in a cowl like that , i also have dle engines

    • @tbobborap1
      @tbobborap1  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hi paul great question m8, we use red line semi synthetic two stroke oil (red in colour) read the dle manual for oil mixes in their engines but we ALWAYS use a 40:1 petrol/oil mix ! the knack of keeping the engine cool is to have a bigger opening at the back of the engine cowl than the opening at the front ! because the hot air expands roughly 3 to 1 so a bigger opening at the back / bottom of the cowl will allow this expanding hot air to flow out and cool air in over the cylinder head ! check the 3 photos @ 9:42 to 9:49 ive opened up the holes it the exhaust to allow the hot air escape from the top of the cowl, also the pic @ 9:51 showing the cut out under the cowl to keep her cool ! some engines do need a cowl / ducting around the cylinder head but these models dont need it, ive never overheated an engine in a cowl yet, check out part two of deano flying her here - th-cam.com/video/fGZzDLJSyxc/w-d-xo.html - brilliant model ! hope you get on ok with yours - have fun - ps - the oleo legs that come with the kit are f*^%$£g useless as they are very soft ally and bend easy on hard landings so be carefull !

    • @tbobborap1

      good question day (pete here - deanos dad) both model fly and land superbly and are fully aerobatic, the p-47 is a little heavier than the p-51d so cannot be thrown around as tightly as the mussy because of the higher wing loading but dont let that put you off its just as good as the p-51d - neither of them stall at low or high speed unless you really push your luck, weve not stalled either of them in normal flying so the choice is yours day !

      hi bob, sorry for late reply (I see you've bought the mustang) I used to fly the original h9 p-47 and I can tell you the mustang flies almost identically as in very light wing loading makes it easy for high speed aerobatics and reasonably tight turns with out flicking out on you, very easy to take off but both models best trait is they are so bloody easy to land on full flaps that it makes the whole flying experience so much fun because your not dreading the landings ! (im not sponsored by h9) so im not bigging them up for any kind of gain but they are both brilliant first time warbirds to start flying bob, the retracts oleos are crap (I explained in the other message you sent me) try and replace them with stronger ones or never land her hard as they bend easy - remember to keep your C OF G to the forward measurement they give you and she will fly awesome - good luck and let me know how it goes - pete,

    • @tbobborap1
      @tbobborap1  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      a dle 20cc petrol, the dle 30 is too much power and youll need tail weight this will up the wing loading so she wont fly nice and will be fast to land and wont be as manoeuvrable as my set up ! not sure about the os but again a heavy engine and not as much power as a petrol !

It’s already got the OS installed but I’m wondering if I should buy it w/o the motor considering the prices of glow fuel at the moment. I’m buying it 90% complete w just a few minor things left to finish up.
