  • Yes, it is possible to prepare a tasty Chinese cuisine in under 10 minutes. Prawns are high in vitamins B-6, B-12, and Niacin, which aid the body in producing energy, building muscle, and replenishing red blood cells. Prawns are high in iron, a mineral that is required by the body to adequately distribute oxygen. If you can't get hold of prawns, just interchange them with shrimp. They're very similar in taste and texture, although some say prawns are slightly sweeter and meatier than shrimp. Cooking prawns or shrimp is very easy and quick.     Ingredients:
    Serves 4 pax

    3 slices young ginger
    15g (0.53oz) unsalted butter
    5 cloves chopped garlic
    360g (12.7oz) deshelled prawns/ shrimp (weight taken without shell and head attached or 600g (21.16oz) with shell and head on)
    2 stalks spring onion
    1 tablespoon Chinese cooking wine (Shaoxing Huatiao wine)
    2.5 tablespoons low-sodium light soy sauce
    Some ground black pepper
    0.5 tablespoon premium dark soy sauce

    I have a similar recipe... But i use fish sauce instead of soy sauce..... Garlic.. Butter and fish sauce with green onions n black pepper

      Hi Maria, the dark soy sauce that I used is from a Singapore company - KCT. If you can't get it from where you are, actually sounds like your dark soy sauce is pretty good too. You can reduce the amount of dark soy sauce whenever you're using our recipe. Hope this helps.

    Something I could never understand is why leave the tail on the shrimp? To spit it out when you eat? I mean, it is just beyond my comprehension 😅

      Haha. It’s a personal preference. We wanted the prawns to have more red on them. That’s why we left the tail on. Cooking with the shell can also add a little bit of fragrance to the dish. 😋😋
