I got a simple hack for ya, specifically for ammo boxes, the cheap plastic ammo boxes make great storage boxes for packs of soft baits, this is especially handy so u dont have to be mixing plastics together that might react with eachother, and THAT is AWESOME!

You could use the discarded foam sealant “balls” as catfishing floats (j/k).
I installed the HF magnet bars in the VersaTrac grooves on the front and rear decks to hold hooks and baits when I change baits.

    • @JT_70
      @JT_70 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@@rcajun8902 Unfortunately, my boat is 30 miles away at my son’s home. Had I seen this response earlier I could have taken a pic as he and I were bass fishing this afternoon.
To install, I used 1/4”x 1” carriage bolts (2 per magnetic bar) and nuts (SS preferred). I also put small sections of heat shrink over each end of the bar and made holes thru it for the bolts. This was to protect the boat finish where the magnetic bars would touch (you could just wrap the ends with electrical tape). The magnetic bar is U-shaped with the magnet inside it. The open side (the bare magnet side) should face away from the VersaTrac and toward the inside of the boat. The magnetism on the smooth side of the bar is too weak to be of any use.
      I hope this helps.

That bead trick can be used for all sorts of things. Companies love taking a relatively common item, slap a label on it for a specific use, and then double or triple (or more!) the price. Look up spray glasses cleaner, and then look up spray monitor cleaner. Same thing, but one costs way more.

I got some of those harbor freight ties and they work great, but after a while the wires poke through the silicone. What I did is take the wire out and use paracord and removed the inner lines and used the sleeve sealed both ends with the wire inside they work awesome. Those gear ties are awesome things!!! I use them for tons of stuff with the boat or fishing. Especially to keep all my rods together when I'm bank fishing or traveling. Those magnets work great on fishing carts or a boat for your tools too, and I've used glow in the dark paint alone with the clear flex seal on some of my fishing bags to kinda waterproof them and make them slightly easier to see when you're out fishing in the dark. I think that you should do a video on your version of a diy/cheaper fishing cart.

Instead of heat shrink tubing consider using plasti-dip to cover shank of hook? You'll need can of plasti-dip(your choice on color) magnet strips to hang hooks while drying toothpicks or BBQ skews(depends on size of hook eye) to pierce eye of hook and maintain while drying and side cutters to trim toothpicks knife to sharpen point of toothpick.

    • @FishinNStuff

    Love your "hackery" ...
on your catfish hook bend, I found out the hard way, that grabbing your hooks when you pull them out of a fishes mouth, Can scratch the hook, equally when you bend them out you can scratch the tempered metal as well. And as you know that is catastrophic (see what I did there. Catfish/Catastrophic)...
Doesn't matter what size hook or Guage metal the hook is. When it is scratched it will explode under stress.
    So, 2 things I've done...
    #1 - I STOPPED scratching hooks.
#2 - I dipped the needle nose pliers I pull hooks out with, in the liquid rubber from..... YUP, Harbor Freight.
Just thought you should know... "You know what I'm say'n!"
    Keep up the good work.
    Preciate cha!

On your trolling motor hack, I was thinking that if you took the bottom piece and used an end cap with a hole drilled in it and a toilet bolt mounted sticking out, you could then use the black rubber boot to screw up or down to create more pressure so the likelihood of it popping off the trolling motor would be non-existent
