    a little while ago I attempted to reverse engineer joycon Bluetooth data to see what I could do with it. and I landed on an idea similar to this, but I tried to convert actual midi files into a list of frequencies. that didn’t really pan out, and you had a much better approach. when I was looking through documentation behind joycon rumble, there was a note that mentioned that there’s a specific set of bounds that you should stay in when messing with frequency unless you want to kill your motors. I’d imagine that game builder garage would prevent you from being about to do that, but I thought that was interesting.

    • @Indanam
      @Indanam  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Wow that's interesting! From memory, I think GBG lets you go up to around 1000Hz. Not sure if beyond there is the danger zone, or if even the allowed frequencies could wear down the motors if overused. However, in GBG the allowed higher frequencies don't rumble as intensely as the low frequencies. I thought it was the motor's limitation, but perhaps Nintendo programmed that into the game that to prevent people from busting their JoyCons. 🤔

    The joycon version of the song sounds like something that plays at the credits of an apocalypse movie where there's a happy ending

    Super Mario Party uses this trick! When it's your turn, your joycon plays a little tune.

    The intricacies of joy con rumble is so nice. I've noticed while playing Pokémon Sword the joycons make a squealing sound whenever a Pokémon uses Max Phantasm, adding to the creepy factor of the ghost type attack.

    Since the piano labo came up, it had a mode that let you use the joycons vibrations to make the piano sounds. And I always thought ... why didn't anyone do this? Or since the joycons can be connected to phones and computers. why not make a program or app that let you use the joycons this way? 🤔 A program that let you use midi and pass it to a group of joycons. Why didn't he use pro controllers for this the vibrations sound and feel stronger. 🤔 so many questions without answers.... so many questions

    why did i thought of the Turret Opera from Portal 2 when listening to this?
    Man this is an awesome work! A few days ago was just thinking if there was ay way to control joycon motors to make melodies and you were at perfect timing! I hope to see more videos from you man, keep up the good work!

    I hope some kind of composer makes an absolutely epic orchestration of some popular Nintendo song, pushing the nodon and connection limits. Just like in the days of the NES, composing around severe memory limitations.
