Central European mythology is forgotten about way too much, or it's just mixed in with the Anglo-Celtic myths of Britain that are _also_ way too forgotten in favor of Hollywood and Disney versions of them. I'd love some explanations on myths from your area, brother!

I just stumbled across this channel and as a hobby etnograph and folklorist of Czech and other slavic countries, I am terrificly glad that someone spreads word of our culture around! ❤ I work at a museum and try to preserve our traditions, culture and the aura of our origin. Giving our culture a care it needs. Čert is deffinitelly one of my most favourite kind of creatures that roam our mythology. And as an artist/ilustrator and studying graphic designer, I try to put aspects of our culture into my works. Like the traditional ornaments and traditional embroidery, modrotisk and even try to create and recreate artistic deeds by tradition. Čert is making an appearance around my family a lot along with witches. I think it is tradition in many other families, however we give each other čert or a witch statue and hang it beside or on our doors so they would protect us from the bad ❤❤ Well... I have talked a lot, I apologize if I talked nonsense, however I want to thank everyone for reading this, it means a lot to me as well as to see someone so appreciative of our culture. You have earned a loyal fan. ^^🇨🇿

I also want to contribute that in germany (or at least most parts especially east germany) we also have this tradition of watching these old czechoslovakian/gdr productions of fairytales. Tři oříšky pro Popelku is my all time favorite since I was a child. Furthermore, in the area I grew up Krampus/Chort was called Pelzmartel or Beldzermerdl in franconian dialect. So great to see similarities and enjoy each others cultural variations!

Přijde mi, že jako Češi vytváříme z většiny média a kulturu zase jen pro Čechy, ale už se vůbec nesnažíme ukázat, jak zajímavá je naše kultura a folklór, zbytku světa, i když by se jim to pravděpodobně dost líbilo. Na tu myšlenku mě přivedl už kdysi právě Zaklínač nebo Kingdom Come: Deliverance, což je jeden z mála projektů, kterýmu se naší kulturu a historii celkem povedlo proslavit v zahraničí.

What's the name of the film at 1:11. I remembered watching as a kid but it was with Spanish dub. 😱 I had forgotten about it but I saw this image and it seems extremely familiar.
It's a Czech fairy tale from 1978 called Princ a Večernice 😉 One of our better live-action fairy tales and a classic that's on TV usually several times every year during Christmas.

Watermills are commonly associated with heamons/devils and vampires in Serbian (a d probubly other south Slavic folklore, but I can't speak for shure). There is a legend that st. Sava made a pact with the Devil, where he'd leave watermills except for one specific day of the year. In some versions that's Christmas Eve (6th of january), sometimes the night of st. Nikolas day (19th of december), sometimes the night of st. Luka's day (31st of october).
I'd request a video diving into not a monster but the Pellar, I'm curious if any aspects of old Slavic witchcraft are shown through him(like if the chicken feet draped over his neck mean anything etc)
I don't know anything about witchcraft but I might try to look into the Slavic aspects around the Peller. I was already thinking about making a video on the topic of Forefathers' Eve which is called Tryzny in Czech translation and that's inspired by a Slavic ritual with very similar name. So I might discuss that in the future.

I powiedzenie "gdzie diabeł (czort) mówi dobranoc", które zgrabnie użył Sapkowski w historii Geralta: "Dobranoc" powiedział diabeł. :-)
