I won't go into too much detail , but some of my dad's side of the family lives in that exact Marconi area you were mentioning. That part of Marconi seems pretty normal during day time hours, kinda quiet, families out with kids, but night time is a whole different story. and I have had a few good nights of late night drinking just keeping to ourselves, and can confirm I've heard more gunshots there than anywhere else before, and the police straight up do not respond to it. Also the other rough areas you mentioned were bang on. I'm currently living in one of them.. I kinda rolled my eyes at your title and thumbnail , but a very close and trusted friend of mine sent me this video so I gave it a chance.. and you hit the nail on the head. I now have cameras up at my house.. I just keep to myself and try to stay away from the rough stuff.
Great video, informative, and accurate. Stay safe out there!!

Good luck and hopefully you can move somewhere that you can be comfortable. I loved in London my whole life and our experiences are totally opposite. I've been blacked out and safely got myself 12k across town on foot. But i could have been lucky too. Of course I've done more than that but that's probably the most standout time.

Hamilton Road, Trafalgar, Egerton area. Never had any issues with randoms I didn't know. Always walked around late as a kid.

I live in Carling and I love it, rent an apartment. Within a 5 minute walk of a grocery store, avoid the bad areas surrounding me but honestly I grew up in Mount Dennis in Toronto (lot's of gun violence in the complex I lived in with multiple gangs). So besides the standoff that happened in the complex just north of Carling, it's not that bad here. What I hate about my area and new developments is despite the city being called "Forest City" new communities and EoA in general are very Barren of Trees.
I think in order to keep the nickname of Forest City in the future city planners should encourage new developments and developers to plant Trees and incorporate even small parks/forests in their plans.
A well maintained park/forest will boost the happiness of future people moving in and promote safer environments as kids and youth will have a place to go hang out.

London ain't that bad or dangerous? When's the last time you went downtown? I work at Hamilton and Adelaide and there's homeless everywhere. Homless people constantly setting fires, breaking in, needles, vandalism, and yes, even assaults. We have to keep poles and knives readily available to defend ourselves and our property. And the police are useless. A homeless woman set fire to the outside of our shop. Police came and she was standing there watching the fire. Cops questioned her and let her go. As she was walking away we could see her clearly flicking her bic. Got it all on security footage. We questioned the police as to why they let an arsonist go and they Cleary didn't want the hassle of doing their damn job. London is a horrible city run by libtards.

Bonaventure/ North Trafalgar Heights has chilled out a lot in recent years, when I was younger the area despite being moderately new was in rough condition broken fences and constant vandalism. There are some really nice houses in the area however there is a large concentration of townhouses. Like 6 public housing complexs and 3 small crummy apartments. Anyways there was a lot of drugs being transported into that area years ago. There was also two street gangs active (Eastside Gang and Bono Boys) however they didn't cause too many issues for people in the area. Mostly focussed on drugs. There were several violent incidents during the 2010s with other groups from the Marconi and Hilton areas. Since then there have been significant efforts to beautify the area. A lot of the complexes have received makeovers as well as all the fences. Things have definitely changed a lot from when I was younger. But there has been arsons and shootings even still.

i was a kid in 1970's/80's E O A London. One time walking home from Boyle Memorial p.s. a guy whipped his wang out in front of me and P P'd on the sidewalk on Charolette and Dundas. Then two years later on, while going to trafalgar p.s., police were telling parents to watch out for a man driving a VW rabbit that attempted to grab kids while walking down trafalgar st. Two years later, another guy was exposing himself to children down at St Julien park. The amount of stabbings and crime I have heard happen in east london, especially Bouilee st during those days would make you think I lived in Detroit

Glen Carin is upper class for EOA. lol
The whole area in between Egerton-Hamilton-Richmond-Dundas and blocks just off of these roads are by far the worst in the city. Hilton st, Limberlost and southdale and milbank deserve mentions.
It's not that bad here. I lived EOA my whole life (44 years) and I haven't even been murdered once. There's almost always a guy like me that is willing to pee on the guy that pees on everything.

I totally disagree that Glen Cairn & "East of Adelaide" is dangerous. We've lived and raised 2 sons here for 20 years. 2 incidents in 2 years by a couple of criminals does not make the neighborhood. They don't even live here. How many domestic assaults, fraud, intimidation calls don't get reported in the North West, "desired" areas? This is a safe neighborhood. And larger then you've reported.

I feel there is a stark difference between the east end and the other areas. I’m trying to give a good idea of what each area is like for newcomers to the city. The crime rates are definitely much higher in that area of the city.

I think it’s accurate… there’s spots through that area you want to avoid. There’s a spot at Commissioners and King Edward that my Mother grew up on, it was farmland then. Funny story, when she retired they bought a place along Burlington Street, pretty decent area but she lived there in the 40’s and the farmland was sold and the area was developed for housing shortly after that. She had fond memories so they loved it but we noticed there was an older building at the end of the street that was now Co-Op Housing.
It seemed to ruin the area, they sold their house because the value was going down because the crime was getting worse. There are defintely bad areas in Glen Cairn now but there are definitely older areas that date back to the early 1800’s. Not everything in the East or South is bad but I agree most of the NW is better. Co-Op housing, and some cheaper older neighbourhoods have an impact on the overall communities.
