    This is a great explanation paired with simple exercises.
    For those who don’t feel like their emotions are choices - a mindfulness practice can help get you there. Before you can choose a different emotional response to a situation, you have to learn to be the “observer” of your behaviour in situations, so you can create space and make different choices. Until then, emotions will remain more reactions than responses. It’s a practice worth undertaking!

    This way of teaching could save you travelling, time and reach more people. Not minimising the benefit of your personal coaching which was inspiring and one that keeps me fighting for equipment at work - HMP! Cheers Gavin hope to do my own research on its affect.

    Is there a sound alert function that beeps, whenever I get down to red zone (incoherent)? Likewise for green zone (coherent)

    Hi, great video and technique! I have one question. I don't know why but it is difficult for me to feel emotions like gratitude, care and appreciation strongly and consciously. Only emotion that i can feel on command is joy. For example when remember some memory about good day with family, friends etc. Is this emotion enough for real BRAIN-HEART coherence? I read that breathing exercise puts our brain to gamma frequency but only with appreciation, gratitude, care or compassion. Is it possible with JOY "only" too? It should work with any positive emotion which makes us happy and which feels good i suppose, right?

    • @GJA_SO
      @GJA_SO 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Hi Jan. Thanks - I'm glad you found the video interesting. BTW - Heart-Brain coherence usually creates high Alpha, not Gamma. To answer your question, generally any pleasant/positive emotion will benefit your coherence and especially so in conjunction with slow, deep breathing. We do find that emotions like appreciation, gratitude, care and compassion tend to create higher levels of coherence than some other emotions. But, at the end of the day, an emotion is an experience (not a label or a concept) and experiences are unique to each person. It's great that you can intentionally feel joy - keep choosing that over fear, worry and anxiety for sure ;-) And you may find that with practice you can cultivate other emotions too. Some just take more practise, especially if they are not emotions we are used to feeling. The key here is choice. Most people think emotions are just reactions. They are indeed reactions, but they are choices too. And our ability to choose more pleasant/positive emotions can powerfully benefit our health and happiness.

      @@GJA_SO Thanks a lot for answer! I will just more practice then :-)

    I thought it was the water as people say “don’t drink that water” say like in Mexico for a non resident. (No disrespect meant there). And something to do with local “sheriff’s.” (Not necessarily literal).
    Corona virus was in the water tanks of cruise ships and later moved to the lungs. Why the same name? And it’s CO-VIDS co_ Viral Immunodeficiency syndrome. So…
    Idk…
