- First of all, why did this fight happen in the first place and was kong really the instigator of the Hong Kong battle?
So in the fight in Hong Kong, Godzilla emerges as the definitive winner and Kong was left for dead, but thankfully was revived by the HEAV that acted as a defibrillator, restarting Kong’s heart. It is here that the most peculiar thing happened, instead of Kong going all out again on Godzilla, he actually switched sides with his rival to bring down the mecha, but why?
Firstly, Kong would have realised that after Godzilla spared him by not giving the killing blow and disintegrating the Big ape in the end of the second battle. Kong would have then realised that Godzilla, although not a friend, was not a mindless killer. Secondly, Kong might have not acted in altruism to save Godzilla but might have done so in order to prevent Mechagodzilla from killing countless people in the likely scenario that the Big G is killed.
Lastly, Kong when he was revived by the HEAV, he must have sensed something wrong about the situation, a second Bio signal, one that nearly plunged the world into disarray during the events of King of the Monsters. After all, it was Earth’s protector titans against an alien, unnatural being that had no place in the natural order of things. - บันเทิง

Godzilla protects the Earth from the real threats like Ghidorah. Godzilla and Kong’s fight was a distraction and waste of energy for Mechagodzilla to gain the upper hand on both of them. Godzilla and Kong teaming up was amazing but it wasn’t enough until they used strategy. Godzilla helped powered Kong’s axe and Kong finished the job by destroying Mechagodzilla.
Confirmed Godzilla wasted half his energy drilling that hole. So he fought Kong in round 2 starting at 50% and after 2 and 3, started against mecha with less.

It's actually the other way around. Kong lost both fights against godzilla but ended up earning godzilla's respect for saving he's life, so godzilla won the story while kong won the battle

Kong realized that was his mistake of beating Godzilla. They thought Godzilla went on a rampage. But in Godzilla POV, he tried to stop them from creating a monster that would threaten Godzilla which is mechagodzilla.

Theoretically he should have heard three calls; Ghidorah, the human’s machine, and Godzilla‘s (right).
It’s only ever confirmed in the expanded universe (the movie adaptation novel) that he did in fact hear Ghidorah’s. It’s outright stated Godzilla heard Kong, mind you, but doesn’t confirm or deny Kong heard anyone else.
Ever so conveniently glossing over any mention of the Orca device & Godzilla.
It’s more disturbing if he did hear the other Titan’s too. But it explains how he realized he was living in a cage.
I went to the theatre to watch it, but the opening credits seem to suggest Godzilla went around the world cleaning house, dealing with all the Titans (three hours of which is on the cutting room floor, btw, and I’m dying to see how Godzilla vs Methuselah went down).
So Kong is stuck on a tiny little island, fairly quickly hearing the voices suddenly stop one at a time, until the humans see him in a panic; then make the stupid but wrong decision to slap him in a cage that would have sudden silenced all the voices all at once...
Yeah, no wonder the monkey lost his shit & looked at every human but his little pet girl sideways. That’d have been simply unsettling.
I’m assuming he only heard Ghidorah coming from the Mecha, and even then only once the machine was fully operational.
Did he even recognize the machine as threat before that moment like Godzilla did?
So this leads to my final thought; is Godzilla the only Titan who woke up (other than Kong who was awake the whole time, but left alone anyway) to recognize Ghidorah as a threat because he’s old enough to have been there when he still was one? Like, was Godzilla part the force that put him in ice to begin with?? He’s literally older than methuselah, is that’s what being said???
That might be the conclusion we’re being asked to draw here, seriously. God of the Titans because he came first.

Trust is the big thing. I think I percieved a kind of arc at play here with Kong, going from his introduction in Kong: Skull Island to Godzilla vs Kong, which is trusting in humans, or rather individuals. His introduction sees him attacking the humans bombing skull island and while he has no beef with the tribe on the island he doesn’t really have a relationship with them. He protects them. Sam Jackson’s character test that potential trust by hunting and attacking Kong, but on the flip side are Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson and John C. Reilly’s characters who actively learn that they need to help him, Tom and Brie even come face to face with Kong and in an affectionate gesture touches his nose as he remains very calm, eventually taking time during his fight with the skull crawler to save Brie from drowning whilst he fights it. A sort of trust has been formed there, and this trust is taken to the next step with Jia, whom he not only will not harm and actively protects, but even learns to communicate with (which feels reminiscent of Koko, the gorilla that learned sign language) and eventually even takes directions from, culminating in him recognizing that Godzilla almost killed him but still fighting side by side with Godzilla to kill Mechagodzilla because Jia asked him to do so, trusting that even though his experiences tell him not to do what she’s telling him to do, that she still has his best interests at heart. And at the end he even cohabitates with Jia and Monarch in the Hollow Earth. As giant monsters go, Kong is actually not a half bad character in his own right.

It's very similar to the final battle in Final Wars which ironically also involved Godzilla fighting Ghidorah. Godzilla was having his life force drained from him after taking a beating from Ghidorah. The Kaiser used his energy and shot it into Godzilla to revive Godzilla. Reason was that if Godzilla perished...the Xillians were going to use Ghidorah to enslave mankind. If Godzilla perished here... Ghidorah/MechaGodzilla would destroy everything.
Jia said Mechagodzilla the real enemy. Kong was initially content to leave the old titan to his fate, but Jia asked him. Kong showed that he trusts Jia enough that he will believe her. Judging by how Kong reacting to Godzilla after the fight he did appear to think the battle would resume in the future. He didn't imagine Godzilla would want to bury the hatchet.

One thing that's really cool about the movie is that this is king Kong's first time meeting MechaGodzilla like ever. Which is crazy. And MechaGodzilla met A skullcralwer. So like both enemies of Godzilla and King Kong franchises met up and eventually met the protagonist in the end as well.

To be fair, in reality it's not uncommon weak kills opponent way stronger. Yes, power level do play a major decisive factor, but depends on circumstances table might turn. In this episode, Kong is over rely on his fury, he still haven't had enough experience to fight somebody way stronger than him. However, Kong learns fast especially in Hong Kong fight.

Godzilla defeated kong twice: both times Kong was allied (willingly or not) with the corp that created mecha-godzilla. So, godzilla didn't confuse Kong as the enemy, Kong was the enemy. Kong realized this, that Godzilla wasn't just genocidal and killing anyone (including Kong) just for sports. So, when Godzilla didn't end Kong, Kong changed his PoV.
Also, i think Godzilla was defeated by Mecha-G because he was tired, he was throwing his beam to the center of the earth for an hour, and then he had to fight a big monkey with a g-beam protection axe. It's hard man, it's hard.

If it was not for his little friend telling him that Godzilla was not the enemy. He would have ended up on the wrong side and got killed by the Mechagodzilla after they killed Godzilla and the Mechagodzilla would have went on such a rampage. Probably, although mecha-g was designed to specifically counter Godzilla, so kong may not have as hard if a time as Godzilla did.

That is something that is missing today and the director wanted it that way. No clear winner or loser. If he didn't put Mechagodzilla in the film. Godzilla would have killed Kong and would had a lot of people pissed. So there. Quit saying Big G won but neither did Kong. It was a fight to stop Mechagodzilla.

If he does so there's a chance mechagodzilla could and will use his ORCA signal to control them, which is why godzilla told all the titans to hibernate and protect themselves...

Great video I really like these ones although I don’t think Kong did start the fight in Hong Kong. I think Godzilla did. I mean yes he didn’t mean to but in Kong’s defense when a giant lizard breaths fire into your house one would assume it is an attack lol. I think there's probably more to the rivalry then there letting us know. I don't think either Godzilla or Kong wanted to kill each other, it's basically more of a test your might type deal to show who's stronger.
Now I don't think Kong knew of this rivalry, but at the end of the movie understood it and in the battle between Godzilla and Mecha, he knew Mecha wasnt just Mecha but was something way more dangerous so that's why he helped.

One of the main reasons Kong came to Godzilla's aid was because Godzilla sparred him after defeating him in fight before. MechaG was obviously going to kill Godzilla and likely would have had no problems in wiping out anyone else in its path.

I think MechaG didn't know about Kong's existency at some point because when Kong attacked him from behind, he looked completely confused of why is there Big Monkey at there. Also, MechaG is way focus to kill Godzilla and completely ignoring Kong but since Kong is too ressitance to help Godzilla, MechaG be like: "Screw it, I'm gonna kill this Monkey too!"

The deaf girl I think recognizes Ghidorah’s biological sounds implemented in Mechagodzilla. The Deaf girl is actually one of the last native tribes from Skull island and I think she remembered that there was a 3 headed space dragon that made those sounds and was responsible for her family being killed, along with the destruction of the island she lived on.

Mechagodzilla also has a significantly stronger fire beam than Godzilla’s. On top of that, has missles, thrusters, jets, drill tail, and unlike Godzilla, he is made out of metal, and has extremely brutal punches as we saw when he was punching Godzilla.
Maybe a human with a pen wrote "And Kong decides to help Godzilla". That seems more logical to me.

Metal and Circuits, and what does EMP do to circuits? It fries them beyond repair. One EMP pulse from the MUTOs will severely hamper Mechagodzilla, a few more may even fry his circuits for ever. His power source will only make Mecha powerful as long as his body (powered by electronic parts) is functioning. So, the MUTOs will be Mecha's deadliest opponent.
