The greatest lesson that I was able to take away from this documentary is that your failures will be your greatest attribute and to NEVER give up. Elon’s story is truly inspiring.
“Despite coming from a poor household”… nope, he came from an extremely wealthy household. His own father talked about being so wealthy that he was not even able to fit his loose cash in his safe.
@@eduardtarniceriu102 Yes he is self made in the sense that he is a workaholic. But it is quite certain that his chances of success were a lot slimmer if he wouldn't have gotten his start by his wealthy father investing 28k in his first start-up. Also he always talks about having been super poor and suffering from debt even though his family payed for his entire education. After he sold his start up, his sketchy business tactics and lying really only started.
Narrator: "The reason he came out to Stanford was actually to work on energy storage technologies for electric cars." Video of Elon: "The reason I came out to Stanford was actually to work on energy storage technologies for electric cars."
Who's here after Elon Musk purchased twitter for 44 billion dollars. He really has gone from a nobody to one of the most well known people in the world.
You totally skipped that he first went to Canada (Montreal at first and then Kingston)where he lived for several years while he attended Queen's University. BEFORE he went to University of Pennsylvania. He has remarked that his years in Canada were where he first felt accepted and not bullied and that while attending Queen's he found like-minded people for the first time in his life - this had a huge influence on his life.
This is a well done video. I do have one gripe: the information on Elon appears to primarily come from Elon and people who like him. Of course I don't think the whole story is made up, but I have heard that Elon's story is not as amazing as he can sometimes sell it to be, which isn't surprising. Billionaires brand themselves; some being better at it than others. I would've liked an investigatory portion of this addressing that.
Honestly that’s just sunny, his videos are always pretty biased but so are most peoples. It’s hard to exactly put it into words but it’s the opposite shocking that he’s an elon fan boy. One of a few TH-camrs I watch even tho it’s pretty obvious we have pretty different views on politics lol. Especially considering sunny thing is making videos on various peoples downfall it’s a bit ironic that the one video on Elon is very positive
@@monhi64 I wouldn't say Sunny is biased. The information in this video is the same as what comes from his biography. He uses the most widely available information about the subject, and so it has the sort-of biased portrayal of the media.
Something Extra: Musk moved to Canada at age 17, attending Queen’s University in Kingston for two years, and that’s where he met his first wife. Although the world-famous entrepreneur was born in South Africa, he has Canadian citizenship by way of his mother.
An idea that he never gave up on turned to an empire. Logically he knew electric cars would be the future sooner rather than later, he just had to ride the wave. Good story on the morals of perseverance.

I also asked for this specifically for all the Doge market manipulation and the Twitter saga(there's a The Verge article explaining all the shitty moves he made in such a short timespan I was impressed) but I didn't know about one of his kids hating him...I'll look into that
This "documentary" was always shit. At the very start, Sunny said Elon grew up in a poor household... His family was filthy rich. That's just blatantly false.
He wasn't poor. As you mentioned in the video, his mom was a model and dad was an engineer. But also, his dad partially owned an emerald mine. Elon Musk has said himself: “We had so much money at times we couldn't even close our safe.” With one person holding the money in place, another other would slam the door. “And then there'd still be all these notes sticking out and we'd sort of pull them out and put them in our pockets.” By searching up that quote on google, you can find business insider's article on it.
Actually that's incorrect. Totally. His mother IS a model. When she was raising Elon and his brother she was broke. I believe she was a teacher. I got this stuff from a good source btw. Her. I remember seeing something where she was explaining how life was. Elons dad was not happy with their divorce and she said that to punish her whenever he would bring the boys back to her he'd drop them off without their clothes and stuff so she would have to buy all new clothes.
@@metaldreams3595 How is it "totally" incorrect when you didn't disprove the claim that his father was an engineer, there was partial emerald mine ownership, and that Musk himself recalled having riches in a past interview? If you wanna disagree about the employment status of Maye Musk (musk's mother) fair enough, I don't know much about her employment status beside her being a model at some point (including today). But to claim I'm totally incorrect because musk's dad treated the family poorly, just doesn't hold up. Musk's dad was rich, and Musk has stated that he spent a considerable amount of time living with him in the past. I'm claiming he was overall wealthy growing up, not happy.
@@MrPicklekvGygA Hi, well I thought I did but I suppose I should expand on my answer. His father, knowing she was broke, would drop off the kids without the clothes their mother had sent with them. According to her own words, he did it cos she didnt have money. Do you understand? And heres Musks own words.. “I grew up in a lower, transitioning to upper, middle income situation, but did not have a happy childhood. Haven’t inherited anything ever from anyone, nor has anyone given me a large financial gift.” So, who are you going to believe regarding Musks childhood? Musk or the media?
@@metaldreams3595 Again, my original comment has yet to be totally debunked. If you want to value Musk's testimony on his wealth, then read the following statement he made on his upbringing during an interview with Jim Clash: "In South Africa when I was growing up, my father had a private plane we’d fly in incredibly dangerous weather and barely make it back. This is going to sound slightly crazy, but my father also had a share in an emerald mine in Zambia. I was 15 and really wanted to go with him but didn’t realize how dangerous it was. I couldn’t find my passport so I ended up grabbing my brother’s -- which turned out to be six months overdue! So we had this plane load of contraband and an overdue passport from another person." Not only did Musk experience an upbringing of travelling in private aircraft, he himself confirmed the claim that his Father owned an emerald mine. Furthermore, you asked "According to her [Maye Musk] own words, he did it cos she didn't have money. Do you understand?" My answer is yes, I understand. I'm aware Musk has family problems. The question I'm asking you is why don't you understand that to totally debunk me, you have to do more that prove that Musk's family is a mess. Who are you going to believe, numerous investigations into Musk's family's wealth from various sources, such as Errol's early investments into Musk's first ventures such as Zip2, the employment status of Errol, Errol's (the literal father of Elon, if I may clarify) testimony on Musk's upbringing, Musk's own acknowledgement of his financially privileged childhood..... or a single quote by musk from an unsourced interview? Remember, if you want to totally debunk me, you have to disprove Errol's association with emerald mines, his financial investments into Musk's early career, and his employment as an engineer (an occupation known for how lucrative it is). Otherwise you're just making insufficient responses.
I really like your channel and I'd like to give some constructive criticism. You seem to always repeat whatever 'x' person has already said in the clips you use. I think restating it in your own words would make it more 'your own' and avoid unnecessary repetitiveness.
This channel is so underrated. This documentary got me hooked all the way through and i almost missed my online class. Outstanding job holy shit. Only criticism is try to paraphrase what people have said when you're quoting them so it does t get as repetitive.
Now imagine if his family was poor and he were stuck in south africa. You can talk about talent all you want, but if you don't have money even for education you'll get nowhere

@ben esterberg www.insidehook.com/article/history/errol-musk-elon-father-myths this article in fact states that he was a millionaire and I can find around 9 others that say the same so I am not spreading misinformation just facts. Lol, You know the bullies that teased him and beat him up in school all remember his name, and now they can all see what a douche bag that they themselves are because Elon is changing the world and I love what that guy does for humanity
i bet they don't even remember doing it. people who are like that who act out on other people like have such screwed up lives that the only thing they really care about is finding people who will let them beat them up. so to them i'm betting he was just another kid who they could dominate. elon's home life sounded like he should've been one of those bully types.

‘’Scientific societies are as yet in their infancy… It is to be expected that advances in physiology and psychology will give governments much more control over individual mentality than they now have even in totalitarian countries.
Fitche laid it down that education should aim at destroying free will, so that, after pupils have left school, they shall be incapable, throughout the rest of their lives, of thinking or acting otherwise than as their schoolmasters would have wished.
Diet, injections(vaccines) and injunctions will combine, from very early age, to produce the sort of character and the sort of beliefs that the authorities consider desirable, and any serious criticism of the powers that be will become psychologically impossible...’’ - Bertrand Russell, 1953
‘’Never forget that two thirds of people would shock you to death just because someone in ‘’charge’’ told them it was for a ‘’good reason’’. The disappearence of a sense of responsibility is the most far reaching consequence of submission to authority.’’ - Stanley Milgram, the Millgram Experiment
“And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family?
Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else awas at hand?...
The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! Thanks for mentioning this as a lot of media did not any anything about Queen University
He wasn't poor. As you mentioned in the video, his mom was a model and dad was an engineer. But also, his dad partially owned an emerald mine. Elon Musk has said himself:
“We had so much money at times we couldn't even close our safe.” With one person holding the money in place, another other would slam the door. “And then there'd still be all these notes sticking out and we'd sort of pull them out and put them in our pockets.”
By searching up that quote on google, you can find business insider's article on it.
Also the loud Runsescape and Minecraft music blend terribly with the topic of the video.
Haven’t inherited anything ever from anyone, nor has anyone given me a large financial gift.”
So, who are you going to believe regarding Musks childhood? Musk or the media?
@@metaldreams3595 Again, my original comment has yet to be totally debunked.
If you want to value Musk's testimony on his wealth, then read the following statement he made on his upbringing during an interview with Jim Clash:
"In South Africa when I was growing up, my father had a private plane we’d fly in incredibly dangerous weather and barely make it back. So we had this plane load of contraband and an overdue passport from another person."
Not only did Musk experience an upbringing of travelling in private aircraft, he himself confirmed the claim that his Father owned an emerald mine.

All you need now is a professional broker else you gonna continue blowing of your account
Mrs Mandy Trading Services strategies is working for me at the moment and am making good profit from Forex and crypto trading
@@philliplogan4837 Same here it's four months now I started investing with them and it's been a good experience
Honestly, this is where my question lies I have lost over $700 in trading. How can I be oriented or educated about forex trade
My first investment with Mrs Mandy trading services gave me profit of over $24,000 Us dollars and ever since then she has never failed to deliver and I can even say she's the most sincere broker I have known
They accidentally had the most influential kid of all time
That ending felt completely opposite to the rest of what I watched.
"At 3 I could tell he was different because of the way he could reason with me." Elon from birth was different from most people and his up-bringing makes him even more separated in some ways and less in others, lmao.
People can laugh, point and shake their heads but it’s always been the people who think out of the box that have changed the world.
petition for elon musk to comment "Great video!"

Small correction: Musk actually came from a very rich family but was disowned by his father after leaving for Canada, effectively throwing him, his mother & siblings into poverty.

Your content is something that interests me.
Giving a window into the famous
And how normal we all are when it comes down to it,
And seeing how circumstance
Can rocket you into stardom.
It Gives hope to my rather dull and
Less then charming life.
Please god don't believe this stuff. It's literally all lies, watch any real video about musk and you won't see the lies he spouts. Like how must put no code into zip2 as it was all so bad if had to be re-written. Or the fact he didn't make Tesla he bought in, then kicked out the founders. or how he started off incredibly rich due to his father profiting off slavery which musk did too. Hell, the safe the had in the house as a kid was always so full it was literally overflowing with money. Musk was bullied for being a super rich snob when the rest of the kids were stupid in abject poverty because of the racism and colonialism musk's family got rich off. A window into the famous is easily found, but when you see that it's all supportive and doesn't mention a single bad thing you should question what you are watching
😁, God loves you

@@heliodoro2104 Hi, God loves you. That was why He sent His son Jesus Christ to die for our sins and rose again declaring His dominion over sin, the power of the devil and death, when we believe in this truth, we are cleansed by God's word and strengthened to live for Him on this earth and kept to experience eternal life with our father, God.
😁❤

I was able to attain this investing in the market, navigating the market in search of a profitable investment is not always easy, this is why I have a financial advisor and wealth manager Larry Kent Nick. Good job. This was one of the most interesting videos I have ever watched.

15:45 He really said "Hi, I'm Elon, and we're about to f**k up some commas".
His dad was an Engineer.I doubt they were poor in South-Africa.Maybe not super rich, but definitely not poor. That is wrong.
