I like this phone. Even though they went back to the infinity V display, it's a positive for me. I always loved how it looks and I felt that it was gone too early last year when most of the A series had an infinity O display instead. Glad to see it again this year!

If you're taking about the CPU, they are both using 2×Cortex-A76 6×Cortex-A55 but the Snapdragon 720G clocked 2.3GHz on Cortex-A76 whereas the Snapdragon 730 clocked 2.2GHz on Cortex-A76, that's why Snapdragon 720G have a 7% higher single core score. Snapdragon 720G have higher GPU frequency and Memory frequency too. People thought they see a downgrade on the number of the name (730-->720G) they thought it's a downgrade, even Snapdragon 720G is A BIT better than the Snapdragon 730G. I really think it's super weird that they went with a notch for this phone, but I personally don't think that it's too expensive to have such big bezels and an LCD 720p screen, I think for that price that's the best samsung could have done. I said specifically samsung because their budget phones (a10, a01) were always realy bad and had pretty bad price to perfomance ratio compared to other companies.
Yeah, those choices were especially odd coming from Samsung. Although the notch isn't too out of place in the price range, it is disappointing that they downgraded it from last year's holepunch. And there are also plenty of phones, priced similarly or lower that have a 1080p display, like the Poco M3. Personally, I would just go for that instead
It's nice to hear that, compared to the A11, the A12 got many hardware improvements. Judging from the leaks so far though, I (who owns an A51) fear that almost all 2021 Samsung phones will be disappointing: they will seem to either be downgrade versions of last year's phones (S21(+) non-Ultra) or boring phones that barely evolved (A52). All for the sake of 5G. What do you think?

Honestly this might be an unpopular opinion but I'd suggest that instead of buying the A12 you should spend a little bit of more money and get the A21s or A31 because then you get more ram a better processor a better screen resolution and better camera quality.
I love how one of samsungs cheapest phones gets earbuds and a charger but their $1,000+ phones don't get shit
