The most random stuff from Nav! At 11:30 route guidance to Fortum Charge & Drive India Pvt. Ltd Sector 24, Gurugram, India from Vienna! As always great review Mat!
I have an E55 AMG and at first I thought the door locking had an issue too. But, it depends on your settings and how you lock it. Especially if you hit the remote lock twice to make sure it locked. It will not open after doing that unless you unlock it with your remote, etc. first. Not sure what the reason is, but it is consistent once you know what's making it happen.
More like a facelift of the existing model than a brand new model. Outside kinda look the same with the new interior from the EQS.
11:56 that nasty shock had me 😂😂😂
I love the tech in this car. It shows how impressive Mercedes Benz cars are.❤❤
As soon as I saw these door handles I knew what the issues would be. That’s a straight up deal breaker for me, making the simplest thing difficult.
They are not that difficult to open I feel the complaint is over exaggerated. I work on these cars and those handles don't act up that often unless you fumble the handle open and close multiple times to play with it
He just doesn't know how to open it.
He over exaggerated. There are multiple cars with that Same door handle
16:59 "I think this is just a cycle-path" said the psychopath
This looks more like a S class than a E class
Or S Class more than even C.
That dash arrangement looks like a right dog’s dinner.
Former e class has a firmer suspension setting than the BMW 5 series. I wonder how things changed in the new gen cars
The sunroof absolutely does open, you have to slide your finger from front to back. You just pushed the ventilation button.
“Looks like the car’s pleased to see me” 💀💀💀💀
The most high tech isn’t exactly what I look for in a car. I prefer driving and luxury. This tech is not luxury. It’s a cheap excuse for the removal of quality physical controls and actual design effort
8:02 I love how the whole panel moves when you use the buttons. Quality car
The whole panel literally is the button. It is only one and the selection is over capacitive differentiation.
At least it doesn't show finger prints too badly....
😮
It’s supposed to do that
I love your review, very honest and you're not over impressed by the badge. Calling out the plastics and seat/steering controls is necessary! Thanks!!
actually, I think even mercedes lost it's touch, next we're gonna have a glass skyscraper like cars.
I know those screens are gorgeous, but imo the 2023 e class model, the big screen in the interior was perfect
Don’t use your phone while driving but a car has 3 screens larger than a tablet and a mobile phone. With a zoom and angry bird app.
They should change that law at this point.
All of which you can only use when stationary...
Opening shot of the interior at 6 seconds. Fingerprint hell! What a mess.
Shut up, dude!
You’ll never be able to leave the house without a microfiber and glass cleaner haha
@@bwdrives considering the number of anti fingerprint coatings around on phones and tablets, it's a major quality fail.
What's the next step for the branding, to make the whole car in a 3 pointed star shape?
Seems like it 😂😂
The first E-Class to actually look bad ass
"One last thing to check, do the rear windows go all the way down?"
NOPE! WE AIN'T MOVIN' NOWHERE!
I do like this over the new C-Class, they also said the AMG Version of the new E-Class will still get a V8 (paired with an Electric Motor) So Kudos to Mercedes for that!
Prost & Cheers from Berchtesgaden in the Bavarian Alps
Didnt they say the AMG will get a v6 with a hybrid system? Pretty sure Matt said that in the CLE video, because that car will get the same engine.
The new one will get an inline v6 not a v8
@@constantinbocker5726AMG and CLK 55 AMG ever have those V6 Hybrid tune.
@@constantinbocker5726
I can*t find anything on Mercedes using an inline or a V6 in the E-Class AMG Model but instead the same V8 Hybrid as in the new S Class AMG
This is getting 6zyl hybrid in the AMG trim
Lets be honest now, manufacturers are now losing an innovation on designs
Not the Koreans and French.
I think Mercedes does it right. At the moment all manufacturers that try to innovate too much with their Design fuck up hard - like BMW.
This E class here looks insanely good and elegant compared to absolutely every competitor
@@timonxDlol I wouldn't say BMW are innovating... I'd call it copying... from Skoda.
Except Toyota! While other cars were innovating they just produce boring yet reliable cars. Now everyone is building generic looking cars that’s not reliable, and toyota is still building reliable but very innovative designs.
@@Corgi_faxthe S Class 2023 version i think has 500+ bhp. And its way more managable than the AMG Maybach.
I like this car. I like the ridiculous screen. I know the ventilating/massaging seats will be amazing and the driver assists will make highway driving no longer a pain. It's got just about the perfect amount of self driving tech to solve all of the problems that I have on the road. I like the styling. The interior design. And the plug in hybrid version is a fantastic idea. Can drive to work and back every day on battery power but I never have to worry about charging and such on a road trip. Brilliant. Perfect car for me for now. Won't be the most exciting drive but I can live with that. I can't wait to test drive it and see what it's like. Basically a great bridge until electric is in better shape. We typically hang on to our cars for over 5 years so this is kind of perfect for us wanting to just sit on the fence a bit.
Not sure about those rear lights....I love the outgoing e53 coupe
"FREESIDEE MOODD YAAAAAAAA"🤣
The screen looks so dirty at 0:06 😩
"Because I'm Matt Watson, And you're Watching carwow!"
Never gets old
Matt Watson never gonna get old for that. 😂
I love this car, and the interior design gave it a mad touch touch too
Looks excellent. Not sure the camouflage green colour would be appropriate for rural areas
If it was chrome on the side and chrome diamond cut alloys it would look Amazing
There will be lot of problems for owners with this door handles especially at winter times, Tesla already have lot of problems in more cold areas and Mercedes could be much worse in that and as we see they already have now at this video and its not winter freeze time
You do know this type of door handles are dqmn near everywhere right
@@kidodakid8861 so lot of problems with them especially at winter times and where is mor colder and as we see Matt already have now problems and its not winter time !! so lot of electrnic problems will be and that means payments&repairs
@@kidodakid8861 damn near everywhere? Literally only on new mercedes and some electric cars 😂 no other car has them. And they are already making problems.
@@Mr11ESSE111The door handles are heated.
Why are car makers pushing these retracting door handles so hard? No one fucking asked for them.
I fully agree with your verdict Mat.I'd buy one.🥶
You know Matt's life is pretty blummin' good when he ditches the plasticky smartwatch for the new iwc ingineur ! Handsome watch btw!
Hi Mat, concerning the door handles. The button on the outside is only for locking the car. So usually the door handles glide out when you approach the car. If not just touch the door handle somewhere but not on the button place. This confuses thar car ;-), as this button is only for locking the car just touch the door handle somewhere and it will glide out,.. Hope this helps out. Out of my view these door handles look awesome and work also very well. All the best.
Verde silverrrrr love the color💚
They should've given it the infotainment of the SL63 or the latest C class. That EQS interior is just horrid.
Totally agree, the interior is just bare , nothing too special, besides the neon lights
Yes like mee
This car is gorgeous. As a BMW fan, I like the look of this car more than the new 5 series.
Are you blind?
@@pwj86772I think you are blind friend, he's right. This looks much better than the new 5 series, that thing is just goofy
The only E class review i was waiting for 🔥
My next car in about 2-3 years. I just got the new C class since I had to make room for a 3month old and love it but would like more room and the higher tier sound system.
Hey Matt, I'm an MB sales consultant in NZ. We don't have the new e-class yet so I watched you review, which was great thanks. Just on 1 of the 5 annoying things you mentioned, I'm 99% sure that roof will slide open! You were clicking the button upward but if you run your finger along the sensor, it will open the roof fully. Awesome that you rated the new E300e "go right ahead and buy it". Keep the good videos coming! Cheers
Ahh I see so it was user error
When those screens are off the car just looks like a fingerprint test machine
Brilliant looking car with much better proportions than the new BMW 5 series with its ridiculous long frontal overhang.
The dashboard is a bit too high tech and shiny for me but it's an ( expensive ) extra anyway.
Standard is a nice decor element which obviously doesn't distract the driver.
Agree about the front overhang of the 5 series but this is far from brilliant looking. This headlights are hideous for an E-class
@@vladislavdimitrov4646 The exclusive line looks much better and more elegant than the other two lines with that that black mask around the front grill.
I was also more referring to the overall shape of the car, not so much about special details.
@@Corgi_fax The shape of the A and E class have absolutely nothing in common except for the fact that both have a three box design and 4 doors.
Everything else is completely different in shape.
The A class sedan has a huge overhang in the front, shark nose, small distance from front wheel to front door and a tiny overhang in the rear.
The e class has a very short frontal overhang, straight grill, long distance from front tire to front door ( prestige zone ) and a large overhang in the rear.
Two sedans couldn't look more different ...
I can't explain how much I'm in LOVE with how this new E class looks on the outside. It makes me want to scream!!
But the inside is cool, yet lacking. My 2019 has long slabs of polished wood, with a nice aluminum speaker on it, lights, and just feels 100% solid. 2024 definitely has more plastic inside :(
It looks ridicuous with the Zorro mask around the headlights and grille...
Are you a child?

@@martinsvensson6884 Pig snot looked terrible on Beamers till they started driving around too.
@@thatoneguy5903 Pig snot? What's that? My only complaint is the horrible Zorro mask. Only possible to order it in black now. To mask it.
I'm a Driving Instructor and even in my little Corsa the car randomly starts answering questions I have asked my Pupils. Love this E class thogh.
If anyone was wondering what watch Matt is wearing in this video it's an IWC Ingenieur Automatic 40mm ref. IW323906. Nice watch Matt!
10:35 the door handles might be a dealbreaker for many who are considering the new e-class
Actually they are easy to use... The small bit on the handles is for locking the car. To open them just push them or swipe and they will always open automatically if you approach the car after being away further than 3m
@@Michael-wh5np the door handles pop out automatically when you approach the car through bluetooth on your phone or keyfob? Wouldn't imagine it being reliable 100% of the time
i have BMW and few days ago with my stuff in it even food that should be in refrigerator trunk fail to open..it want open on remote, want open on button ..want open at all...my windows were down at moment and windows did not want to get up also ..and it just started to rain ..there is no key to manually open ,you cant also access it try back seat. When i fold seats there is a metal plate ..i tomorrow take it to mechanic and guess what..mechanic sad that 99% fuse blow but fuse is IN THE TRUNCK THAT CANT BE OPEN ..there is on youtube some hack how to open it when 12V battery dies but that want work becase fuse died so power want go because of fuse..so its still in the shop with my food which for probably smell like death and cloth stuff in it

"go right ahead and buy it" that was a major surprise considering how much you were slating it earlier in the video 😉
I think your going soft in your old age Mat 🤣
It was very very rare you gave cars the "buy" rating, but it seems quite common now old chap. We want ruthless Mat back 👍
12:30 Matt doesn't know how to open sunroof in an E class. Matt is getting old 😂
😂😂...Matt your slacking..you owe MB compensation 😅😅
Absolutely love it, we got the t modell hybrid. The Interieur design is awesome and really hightech, the quality is good and definetly a step up to the previous model. It drives insanely smooth like he said, you feel like you drive a cloud which is sometimes a bit weird. The steering and brake is to light for my taste but i think you can adjust it.
That backseat temperature gauge looked awfully fragile
Fully loaded still $100,000
Cars pretty much become oversized iPads on wheels. I'm curious how these will hold up. As long as these screens don't break, I can imagine they'll be outdated within a couple of years and won't help on the second hand market.
Given people replace tech devices every 6 months in 2 years dated will be an understatement.
👌🏽 Great review Matt, you did just to this car compared other reviews I have watched, it's a shame that Mercedes would go for cheap plastic in the interior of such an expensive car.
Design is beautiful and I agree with your verdict as for the door 🚪 handles BMW got it right.
I saw you run that stop sign at 17:58 👀. I do the same thing though 😂
Can't wait to test it :)
