Hi, the ic NCP81276 is a PWM controller , In that specific case it is for fan spinning control. in many case the fan block itself due to dust or long use and as there is not a very serious protection the fan goes in short circuit , the IC become burnt so that a serie of component explode. it may be that after all the chips replacement the notebook could work , but you did not test the video but only the fan (wich was broken). Do not trow it away , it might work ! 😄
@Massimo : This is Bullshit. The "NPC's" are in fact PWMs but not for the fan but for CPU/PCH/GPU power-rails. The engineer would be insane, to use that expensive, advanced/complicated IC to control fan speed. PWM for the fan is produced by Super I/O (KBC / Start-Up) chip. In this case it is ENE KB9022q
I enjoyed watching this episode like always. Although I got lost at some point in trouble shooting the faulty 😂. Am slowly getting theere thanks to your videos sir.
Sorin thanks for the video, you have been getting chips from a working board to fix a dead one. It's like getting organs from a health young human being to put them into 90 years old man.
Take the ram stick from the no-working board and put it in the working one :) - The customer will be happy, specially the performance will be better in dual-channel.
Hey Boss, love ur videos and I have a question A BIG One. So I recently completed my course regarding the Computer/Laptop repair but now I don't know how to start my career in this field, I want to gain more knowledge and Experience but I don't know what do now. HOW TO ADVANCE, Please give me some Advice as You Are Quite The Master Of This Field. 😄
This model drove me crazy. It came for repair, it turned out that the usb data line is short-circuited. I bought a donor, the data line is also shorted. I bought another used one, it also has a data line lock. It went in the trash. :) Please measure the data line on the usb!
I removed only the laptop motherboard and plugged in the power supply and it makes a buzzing sound, so I know the problem is the motherboard. Which component could be causing the buzzing sound? (Btw, laptop don't start up and power led don't light up when plugged in only buzz)
Hi sir how r u plz help me about category i have my own channel about computer hardware i want to know which channel category to slect in setting ...plz reply me
Very disappointed. After watching 100's of your videos, you end up just replacing the board and not fixing it in this one!! Good job you had one almost the same, most people wouldn't have. Let's hope the customer doesn't mind the AMD CPU
im trying to understand how the heck 3 chips burned :D thats insane, how the 3.3 volts got so shorted? mby customer played with the headphone jack and dodgy amplifier or ? :D
How is this an actual repair if the entire board is different? It's a board replacement + a fan, so you should charge way more than your normal repair fee in my opinion. You gave a working board + fan besides your valuable time ..
@@urnoob5528 Sorin basically gives the client a fully working board which has its separate price on the 2nd market i.e. it could be sold without a problem. This does not apply to the customer's original mainboard. So I think the price calculation should include brand new mainboard ..
@@stzokev it is not brand new board . he has it as spare one and it just happen that it is working . if you want to charge the client for brand new board plus your fees then it is better if he go buy new laptop or buy similar used one with less what he's going to pay for repair . what sorin did was right as he just got the job done and I would do the same and move on instead of losing my time on the repair if the customer disagree .
Amazing that you've been doing this work for so long and still have such enthusiasm when your work is successful.
Hi Sorin , Rich from learn electronics repair mentioned you yesterday on his channel.
You are helping and entertaining so many people. 👏👏
No one can teach like Sorin, he born with this talent
your camera picture got so much clearer and better when u looked at that 2.nd burned chip @27:32
Hi Sorin, good job, you help me to do more in electronics, your videos are a gold mine! thank you and hello from Nantes in France

Sorin is the kind of person who never needs to brag. But his work does. 😄
Sorin is feeling lucky today.
Bună dimineața domnule Sorin, să aveți un weekend liniștit
Multumesc, la fel!
Your getting very good teaching sorin, where do you get spare boards
Great vid. But if the old i5 was older than 4 gen than a6-a10 is downgrade comparable with i3 with lower efficiency

Look closely......different type of ram😮
Sorin happier than the customer of this upgrade (repair)

Start repair everythig faulty u have around:tv's,laptops/tablet/phones u don't need,everything :)
I love watching your videos. But watching this video, I'm a bit curious how you found that Richtek chip with that cryptic label 8A....?
tanx for all
🥰
I think Sorin forgot he owned a thermal cam :)
Great video Sorin! Thank you

lol, the worse the job got, the happier Sorin got.
@@cbuga2143 I don't think so, he was just enjoying his work more.
finally sorin has a blowing job :)
I laughed a lot with this video, I saw so many holes.
thanks nothing is easy
Good job mate 👍
Good work
I do face fault like this at work, back then I thought it was the charging ic that supply 3volt. thanks sorin
A question: When you remove the bios battery, the laptop will boot by itself, right.
8A 3G 64 G - you see this label on IC and recognize it as RT8243A ? How do you recognize an IC with so little data ?
:) an upgrade from ddr4 to ddr3 :p
insane, yeah

16:25 I think you messed up the chip position
What was the cost of repair? Was it worth it.
it is a win win for both. the customer will be happy to get a working laptop.
Wow That Board Swiss Cheese...
holy smoke
wow and OMG 3 blown chips :)

if he mind it then he can go and buy new i5 board and double his cost
my all job like this 😂
It works!
it's a downgrade from i5 to A6/A10
im trying to understand how the heck 3 chips burned :D thats insane, how the 3.3 volts got so shorted? mby customer played with the headphone jack and dodgy amplifier or ? :D
3.3v supply ic went faulty and output high voltage on the rail.
The high voltage blew up downstream chips, shorting the 3.3 rail to ground.
dont forget solder vga port on amd board 🤪
If it's WinOS it's linked to the motherboard, ie, need a new key. Then again a key online is only $20 - lol -.

well if it is working it is repaired
replacing a chip or replacing a board
same thing at the end of the day
