Planetfall is a great game, and so is Age of Wonders 3 (it's direct predecessor.)
Neither directly compete with the likes of Civilization and are more combat focused than Civ in general, but at the same time unit variety is far greater.
While you generally get the same racial units in the broad strokes (Infantry, support infantry, airplane, tank, artillery, superunit.) Those units will also differ between races (A Dvar tank functions differently than a Vanguard tank) and even themselves depending on what upgrades you mount on them.
And then there's the whole secret tech tree that makes factions different among themselves, since a Xenoplague Vanguard will have different synargies available to them than a Synthesis vanguard.

i could see next expansion called "awakening " adding creatures lurking below earth survaces
kinda goblinoid humans and explolabre underwolrd layer.And they easly could make npc faction from those fungus cyborgs
I'd love to see something like that. Some kind of overarching monstrous or alien faction. Something underground is a solid guess and is in line with the previous Age of Wonders games.
To bad that star kings is last planned expansion, which means no more content :(

@@hubertgizinski7962 i would be glad to see season 2 aswel. But at least we can see clear progression - 1st game didn't had any expansions, 2nd had one, 3 - 2 and aow:p had 3. So let's hope next game would have at least 4 :).
I'm not gonna lie and say I'm an expert on 4x or anything, and I honestly haven't played a ton of planetfall, but I thought precognition was cool until I realized repeating attacks make it kinda meh?

as for reading text, it is smart to write what the person want to say. it is professional. that or bumbling around repeating things and forget to say others.
as for the game itself, it is a very good game indeed.
The artstyle in this game is hideous.
