Thanks for the upload! I live in Cookeville, and though I don't get to see the trains coming through very often, it's nice to see this documentary and see some more insight into the past of the line.

@@allanmccall376 You're very welcome. I remember this railroad from the PENTREX video "U-BOAT SURVIVORS", when the N&E was using FOUR-AXLE G.E'S.

Charj x Hasn't been used in at least 20 years. Most of the rails past the zinc mine in Gordonsville have been taken up.

Trains still operate to Bonnell Rd. Everything past Bonnell Rd. has either grown up with vegetation or has been made into rails to trails. Track is still there, it’s just under the pavement of the trail. The railroad wanted the track to remain when the project was done a few years ago. They came in and replaced the ties and ballast before paving was done. The old Carthage Junction Depot has been moved into South Carthage next to the track to be restored. Check out their Facebook page for some pictures.

averwaverz I was talking about the Carthage Branch tracks in South Carthage past Bonnell Rd. Most of it has been made into a rails to trails. But yes, the railroad still goes to Monterey.
