- Industry on Parade was a short television program that aired in the U.S. from 1950-1960. It was produced by the National Association of Manufacturers. The series demonstrated complicated industrial processes that transformed raw materials into finished products. Industry On Parade Pride of Nashville is one of those black and white, public service, industrial films, probably produced in the mid 1950’s. Narrators used were Bob Wilson, Peter Roberts, and Radcliffe Hall. It was produced by Arthur Lodge Production, Inc. In 1953, Arthur Lodge formed his company and began producing his educational films. He wrote and produced more than 500 episodes for Industry On Parade.

A steam engine being hauled by a crane (4:51-4:58). Making sterling silver hollowware at the Gorham Manufacturing Company, Providence, Rhode Island - start with molten silver being cast into ingots (5:08-5:32). Removing scale that formed on the outside (5:32-5:45). Rollers are used to thin the thickness of the ingot (5:47-6:17). Cutting the sterling silver sheet (6:19-6:32). Stamping the silver into a shape (6:34-6:49). Stamping a decorative rim on the tray (6:54-7:17). Defining the final shape (7:19-7:29). Chasing or Repousseing the metalwork (7:31-8:14). Polishing the tray (8:15-8:26). Serving food from the tray (8:27-8:48). Sapolin Paints Incorporated, Brooklyn, NY, producer of unusual paints (9:30-9:33). Paint being produced (9:39-9:52). Mixing the paint (9:55-10:15). Automatic can filler (10:17-10:29). Field researchers develop new paints for special purposes (10:53-11:33). Testing paint by heat (11:34-12:07). Painting a furnace radiator (12:11-12:22). Painting a refrigerator (12:26-12:34). Transforming a nursery wall into a chalk board (13:07-13:24).
