It really is not "harder". In the slightest. Flirt and get approval, thats all. Juts like with everyone else. Its honestly pathetically laughable how *easy* it is for a mage to bone him, friendship or otherwise, realistically it shouldnt be possible or at the very least should be way and way harder.
i mean not really. you can get +10 rivalry with him after Danarius' mansion if your Hawke is a mage (or if there's a mage in the group), but that's pretty much it. he doesn't act differently with mage Hawke anymore.
I've played DAI before Origins and second game. Sacrificed Hawk in fade. Now I replay every game just to save Hawk bc my heart aches when I think I took him away from Fenris ;-;
fenris escaping from years of slavery under an abusive magister and then meeting this nice goofy mage who helps him the funniest thing ever 😂😂 it must be the biggest mindfuck for him
Varric speaking up to convince Fenris not to kill his sister hits so hard if you have Varric kill Bartrand. I don't think I've ever done a Fenris romance (maybe my first playthrough a decade ago, but I don't remember), so this was really interesting!
What I love about the world of Dragon Age is how each game has clues to the next one. at 18:39, Hadriana says that Varania is serving a magister named Erimond. I'd bet my estate in Hightown that it's the same Erimond who appears in Dragon Age Inquisition.
Fenris is my favourite romance in Dragon Age and paired with a sarcastic male mage Hawke it’s perfect. I can’t wait for Veilguards romance options, especially Lucanis 😭
hmm...well, what does Fenris desperately want...I always thought it might have been info on Fenris's past life. His name, his identity, info on his family. They dangled it before him as bait. But I might be wrong...
@@sasakelala3360 I always thought it might be the legal papers that mark him as a slave in Tevinter. Like, a document that basically makes it so that if Danarius dragged him back to Tevinter then the court would rule Fenris be returned to Danarius. A deed of ownership or something. Idk how slavery works but that’s what I thought it was?
@@machineli. I'm talking about when he's bending over to look at the dead captain right after his opening scene. He bends over to check something, stands up, and suddenly knows that Danarius is in hightown. In 2 seconds he learned something that only someone who could read correspondance could know.
Very late to this but notable people and families have Crests or symbols that represent them, right? Going by that logic and letters I've seen (but it's been a while since I've played DA) Fenris could have seen Danarius' symbol on a contract letter? He seems like a man who rarely cares for who he buys, bounty hunters or not, he hires no matter how far they are. Meaning letters. That's what I assumed anyway. Sorry for le long post.
@@judithanderson3537 It doesn't matter since a letter can arrive or be given to/from/in any place. A letter is not proof of the man's physical presence it would only be proof of his connection, but Fenris already knew that. That letter could have been delivered, or they could have received it in Minrathous as far as Fenris knew. Since Fenris can't read there is no way that in the split second where he bent down to examine the very dead slaver, that he could have known for 100% certainty that Danarius was in the city.
@@ghostgirl6746 Yeah, I think if he didn't joke around or try to see the bright side of life, he would've been in a very dark place. The story also takes place over roughly 10 years (i think) so it's not like every day is horrible for him. He's also surrounded by his friends, which I'm sure keep him sane :D
??? what do you mean copy and paste?? It is the same world, with the same / new characters. What did you expect. The general way of playing and the romancing stays obviously the same. DAI is - in my opinion - the best of the three. So many great scenes (becoming Inquisitor, the singing after Haven, defeating the magister, the winter palace, playing cards with the companions, the story twist with Solas as the Dread Wolf,...so many great moments)
Fenris: *rips a man's heart out of his chest*

"I can't bear the thought of living without you..."
My Inquisitor Lavellan: *face in hands*
“All I wanted was to be happy...” OW MY HEART
Going down nostalgia lane to revisit my original favorite white-haired, revenge-seeking, ex-slave elf after playing Baldur's Gate 3 :)
You clap them elf cheeks, Hawke. I'm so proud.
Friendmance is harder to pursue than Rivalmance if you are a mage. Nice work, Nanali!
Thank you!! :D It was quite challenging yes XD
Emerald Typhoon it does take work but it can be done

It wasnt challenging for me, I was a mage and had full friendship by the end of act 1 if I remember correctly

Fenris is fucking terrifying and that puppy dog eyes comment got me dead love this!
Am I the only one who thinks that Fenris laughing is like the sexiest thing you've heard?! 😍😍😍😍
Fenris' voice is just the sexiest sound ever haha
I've played and rewatched the Fenris romance for years and I'm still emotional about them...even teared up a bit.

I played DA2 before DAI, so I didn’t realize that Varania may be the same voice as Cassandra !
She is!

@@machineli. if you mean Erimond, he is the magister leading the blood sacrifices to bind demons with the grey wardens in DAI. He is at Adamant.
Holy shit. Erimond is definitely the kind of slimy shit who’d associate himself with Danarius, too. Really glad I chopped his head off now 😂

I think he mentioned he paid people for odd jobs and that mightve included scouts to track Danarius :D
