This would have allowed him to still get the extra combat step, which is how it played out, so the error was on the part of editing not playing.*

There were a couple of misplays regarding Scourge Of The Throne during the game. Gain counters attacking the wrong player and the same for the extra battle phase

I think that was a pretty loose Go for the Throat. Taking 6 in the air is almost guaranteed to be a gentle pat on the shoulder compared to whatever the Xenagos decks are going to do.
Although, based on the pinned post, maybe that was his second swing at you. That would make it a more reasonable response. Though, I’m somewhat baffled by giving someone 3 knights and then not using that political credit to team up on one of the Xenabros.
Why Blighted Fen? 6 mana (4B + the land itself) for single opponent non targeting sacrifice {which means they can sack their worst thing} that also costs you a land in play. What is worse is that it is a mono black deck, so you aren't splashing for black removal and are also playing one less swamp for the likes of Cabal Coffers and Lashwrithe counts.
I mean, your assessment of it being expensive and not the best removal isn't wrong, but I've had it work in my favor enough times to merit keeping it in. Urborg turns it into a swamp for the purpose of Coffers, and it's one of my utility land flex slots. Sometimes it's nice to have removal stuck on a land.
@@MTGMuddstah - I guess I understand. That is why Quicksand was a long time staple. Might I suggest Unstable Obelisk? Maybe you already run that, but it is far better. It is ramp that can also target many things including those pesky Artifacts and Enchantments that Black needs to kill. The loss of the Obelisk is offset by the fact that it gave you positive ramp Mana earlier in the game.

against using meta cards? you don't like price of progress? I personnally love the card and use it often, to punish the gready players who don't play basics (or close to none)
I find that if you start to run too many meta based cards, if you ever play against other people your deck kind of fizzles. This is probably heavily influenced by my playing at like 4-5 shops on average, whereas Mike usually only plays with the same crew.

As a Xenagos player, I love seeing the xenabros in action. I wonder how long lasted this game, maybe half an hour?

I have one rule with my gruul decks: no flyers. At least give your opponents a decent chance XD. Dragons + xenagos is too brutal.
games are too fast ... your going to have to start recording 2 or 3 games per stream
