Bangladesh is the fastest growing economy in Asia. The reason they don’t like them esp now is cause Bengalis are 100% pro-Palestinian and it’s a feminist, activist culture. Interestingly, Bangladesh has one of the longest histories with the Brits. It was the main target of British colonialists because it was the richest portion of the Mughal Empire. British were dying to go there since the 1600s, but now don’t like the favor returned after asset stripping the Bengal for hundreds of years.
Bengali a feminist culture ? I hadnt heard that. I know Bengalis like the Gujaratis are well represented here in the uk ( and other parts of the world ) and perhaps understand a more cosmopolitan outlook; but I'd be very interested to learn of any inroads the feminist movement has made in this population.

It was demonstrated that the rape allegation WAS a smear campaign. No hearings, dropped charges. Please, check what the rapporteur on torture say on this we'll before the allegations were dropped. He incidentally checked the papers as he was a Swedish speaker.

I always thought the sex charges against Assange were a way of holding him ready for extradition to the USA.
@roger. That's the justice he was evading by hiding in the Equadorian embassy. 3 women in Sweden. Enough evidence to bring Assange to trial in Sweden for sexual violence against 3 women.
It is this justice he was evading, had 2 children, soiled and smeared the Embassy that they handed him over essentially as an unwanted "guest". He's not a sympathetic character, he's a publisher not a journalist. Hope the misogynistic narcissus is never heard from again. Somehow I doubt it....
Yeah, because it's so much easier for the USA to arrange him to be extradited TWICE - once to Sweden, then to the USA.
Do you ever actually think these things through? He was already in the custody (on bail) of the British - America's single greatest ally - why on earth wouldn't the USA simply request his extradition from Britain? Why concoct a transparent plot dragging two women and the whole Swedish legal system into the mud?

These charges were basically made up and exaggerated. He was special rapporteur to the UN and a Swedish Legal expert so l will take his opinion over most others.

I always thought it strange that the girl in the Assange case had been having consensual sex with him before the claimed assault but then continued to have consensual sex with him after the claimed assault. My guess was that the CIA had bribed her in the hope that he would be extradited to a country from which they could either extradite him or kidnap him.
Stealthing is rape in Sweden. It’s also a sex crime here now, but wasn’t at the time. Also at the time his lawyer admitted he removed the condom but stated he didn’t not know it was a crime to do so. That’s an admission.
All stealthing cases involve consensual sex to begin with. Also many cases of all sorts of rape begin with a consensual episode whereby the sexual partner may agree to acts a & b but not c. If C is then coerced or forced, that’s rape.

Please do the research into the Swedish rape allegations - which three Swedish prosecutors dropped. Neither of the two women said they were raped. Wishy washy statements prolong the lies
Look at this document online "Swedish Unlawful Seizure Complaint 2013 2", numbers 97-100 proves that there were no accusations of rape in the first place.

9:39 Ash, his lawyer admitted he committed the acts -the argument was that he didn’t know stealthing is rape, by law, in Sweden. It was covered at the time. Also Julian Assange isn’t left wing. He’s not on the left, he never has been.
It’s possible to celebrate the release of someone targeted for journalistic freedom, but let’s not retcon him into a left winger or forget what he admitted to.

I would like to point out that the whole coconut suggestion is incredibly racist and shocked that anyone would think any differently on this matter.
She should be charged. her plea against this treatment is itself a significant indication of her ingrained racial discrimination: "people like me".
But as the coconut comparison itself she is not only stating that someone is betraying their race, and therefore pointing out a racial distinction, but she is also claiming that the 'race' that they are inside (which is white) is characterised for their hatred towards people with darker skin. How can a white person not be offended by that. It is not a bad comment (coconut) because it doesn't play into a white idea of being the greatest. It's a bad and racist comment because it both characterises people into 'races' based on colour, which is a white imperial ideological notion alone, and it argues that a whole group of people within this divide are murders and racists obviously.
She is putting one 'race' of people against the other, and claiming that she is being attacked because of her own 'race'. Not only has this view sprouted out of European imperialism and white supremacy.
So though I'm not sure that by law the definition is still the upholding of white supremacy, these are different times and we aren't lawyers we need to stop spouting the origin of the charge of racism without understanding current cases, the claim by Ash that it's not upholding white supremacy is ridiculous and protesters comments on this matter in this particular milieu and epoch are not changed [to not racist] because of her colour.
Ash's comments where incredible ignorant on this matter and the comparisons to sitcoms was really ridiculous. There was no clear parallel between this protesters comments and these sitcoms. For many reasons, such as historical and geographical contexts.
