Simon needs to be at the anchors table at all times. He adds much needed humor
I agree but I wouldn't say the team is unwatchable without him or anything. David is a stellar commentator (and Jovanka adds a great dynamic) and I have to say Kaja is growing on me after the last year or so lol
I couldn't disagree more!
Game starts at 35:35 or 36:36, depending on where you want to start.
legend
Thank you :)
I heard so many people saying nepo wouldnt stand a chance and magnus would crush him. I knew Nepo would give his all to him and give a serious challenge. Do your thing Nepo, make him sweat. You’ll both improve this way.
Whoever said that clearly didn’t know him. Very few players are getting crushed at this level
Nepo has a history of being challenging to Magnus. Magnus certainly hasn't taken him lightly even once
ALL THE BEST TO BOTH ❤️
Only one can be best
This is the stuff of legend! Humbled to experience the genius and celebrate chess!
I will never forget this titanic battle.
2:00:44 In Game 6 what move was that at? I just finished watching that game but my memory isn’t great and I can’t think of that moment off the top of my head and my knowledge of the game is very very minimal. What was the move that Nepo should have gone for that would have gave him an extra pawn?
Magnus will keep his title for another 4 or 6 years until Pregg comes of age and takes over the crown.
What about firoza
That didnt age well...
This aged quite poorly

Nice Game Magnus!
Go Magnus!

Did Magnus receive a congratulatory tweet from Anish ?
good stuff
I know wcc magnuz..depends his wcc title agains ian nepo...GOD bless
Why did somepne else play for Nepo's first move?
He asked nepo what move to make and he played it.
The First move is always done by a celebraty
What a Drawma^^
Why bteGmin quota is there ?
Why does nepo keep leaving the table?
He has to constantly consult stockfish
You sit there for 5 hours and then tell me
Players should have to spend a percentage of their time played, at the board in these classical world championship games.
lol the table talk
It's too fast
then slow down
Historic game. Not historical game.
3.36.30sec Magnus...'do you care about UAE appalling record on human Rights ?'......a pathetic silence from Carlsen....at last a great question at a press conference....
That wasn’t the question. And Magnus didn’t answer with a pathetic silence. He said it was a tough question, which it is, and that he said he had no comments, which is entirely appropriate because Magnus plays chess. He is not responsible for the UAE.
You are a muppet.
@@gargantuangouda605 please do not defend Magnus, he is a coward...
Carlsen plays f3
Neo Magnus
New to the chess world, is it normal for players to leave the table for such long periods of time after they move? Just seems kind of... I guess disrespectful? To not stick around for longer
Yes it's normal, both these players can play the whole game blindfolded so leaving the table doesn't really change everything they are still thinking. Yesterday's game lasted like 8 hours you can't expect them to stay at the table and not move all day. Specially when they don't really need to see the board to play anyway
@@Donaldduckus ah gotcha, man 8 hours. Long time
43:25 did someone fart? :D
Out of 7 games there have been 6 draws 😂
@@methdxman yep
Don't make a fool out of you
It's normal
This is extremely normal for classical chess amounsgt similar rated top players. They all can calculate like 15-20+ moves deep with this time control, it's hard to surprise opponents. Yesterday Nepo only blundered because they were basically playing blitz chess at that point
Yeah the format is outdated. They can’t really expect this to grow the popularity of the sport.
hello
Hi
Magnus guessing the games is fixed.... its a petrov and magnus knew the game even before???m There most be thousands of games just with 4 moves in.. He is brilliant but this is LIE!
Bobby Fisher would have defeated both.
As Morphy, Fisher was and always will be an unforgettable legend, whose abilities and matches made a huge impact on modern chess. But considering how much chess has developed over the past decades and is still changing with every game played today, pushing the players minds, strategies and creativity to an absolute limit, I don't thinks so. They are on completely different levels, not only in terms of time, experience and knowledge but also in the way they handle and plan their moves. You can't really compare them with each other
Bobby Fischer couldn't memorize 40 moves deep of stockfish moves. It's pretty much guaranteed that carlsen will have at least +1 or +2 advantage after the first 20 moves because he has memorized every possible decent opening to that depth with stockfish moves i can assure you. Then beating him in a classical game when he's +2 up is going to be very very hard. Especially in the end game, i doubt you can possibly beat magnus in the endgame for several reasons. Maybe if bobby played Chess960 against magnus, bobby would have a chance but otherwise the memory from all the computer stuff is simply too impossible to compete against when just playing normal chess. Obviously in bullet chess, memory is going to give you an even greater advantage so i doubt bobby would have a greater chance there. Sorry but bobby is no match against stockfish and i think if bobby would play against the newest stockfish or worse alphazero, he would just lose 20 games in a row and by losing i mean getting obliterated.. and knowing bobby, he would quit chess forever. We all know that's how it would go.
average american
Boring game - disappointing that Nepo didn't get aggressive. You're not going to defeat Magnus with conventional games.
I sure wish Maurice would shut-up about the mask. We're not school children, Maurice, and what authority do you have to tell them to wear a shame muzzle/face diaper? Not getting your gig back next year would be better than bowing to tryants.
this isn't chess
this is *drawchess* ;-;
You can do better?
It's normal among high level players. If you are just as good as someone doesn't it make sense that your skill is shown as equal in the game? This isn't Valorent. You can't headshot some really strong player and win the game. You need long development to improve and it takes a long time to win. It is chess. Even I draw all the time at my level and I'm a comparably weak player
Why are you watching if you don’t like it?
if you dont make any mistakes all chess is a draw
