The beauty of Myles Kennedy's writing is that you can always read into the lyrics however you see fit personally. He deliberately writes this way for individual interpretation, which is such a hard thing to achieve, and another reason why I love AB so much. Personally I listen to this as a long term relationship where one person has let the trust die one way or another and the betrayed has left as they can take no more, and is telling the person they will realise what they are missing eventually. This track definitely improves every time you listen to it. Great reaction again man
Another of many many great songs by AlterBridge!💪. To me, the Fortress was a metaphor of a relationship built between two people, and the other is leaving. He’s trying to hold on, but lashes out saying the other party is going to regret it. Awesome instrumental in the middle with the dueling guitars of Myles and Mark!
Those are dueling guitars in the middle between Mark and Myles. You might have enjoyed it more if you watched the live version. One of my favorites by this group. Thanks for the reactions. Sammy is awesome!
Actually this is the last song on the album and is reflecting the journey we have been on It is after sometime was lost and they found something and then it is reflecting on what happened
Myles & Mark trading off solos is something AB need to do more of. And the meaning of this song I believe Myles said he tried to write it to be open to interpritation for the listener.
This one of my favourite tracks, admittedly it's pretty prog. Sounds like prog isnt really your thing as I can't imagine wanting to skip any part of those instrumentals 😂
An honest revue; but I disagree on the length. This is like a classical piece with movements; it’s a musical journey. Such a powerful, emotional piece. It’s simply one of AB’s finest moments musically and lyrically.

You are my favourite music reviewer without a doubt. The solos in this track are the 2 sides battling it out. Done by Myles and Mark. Great song.
