You hit the nail on the head when you said "Alter Bridge is phenomenal ". The fanbase will tell you this (and I'm sure you've figured it out) but they truly don't have a bad song in their arsenal. Nothing but banger after banger.

Great song! Myles Kennedy’s vocals absolutely stunning in this song. All kinds of range from soft almost whisper, all the way up through soaring chorus (and his higher layered background vocals overtop). Great guitar playing by both he and Mark Tremonti all the way through. Lyrically it seems that the ‘Fortress’ is a metaphor for a relationship that has been torn down by the partner of the subject, who tries to hang on, hoping the relationship can be repaired… until he finally breaks and says just take it all! (My interpretation anyways)

Myles and Mark both play the guitar solos in this song, Myles is a very under-rated guitar player, in fact he will even tell you himself, he sees himself as a guitarist before a vocalist.
I did not see that guitar coming but I'm so glad it did!!! I love Myles voice so much. They are so good it's crazy to me that I wasn't aware of them until recently.

Myles Kennedy is one of the all time great vocalists, Myles and Mark are phenomenal guitarists and Flip and Brian an outstanding rhythm section. This song is epic. If you get the chance please review ..Burn It Down. Particularly the acoustic version NAMM with Taylor Guitars. Oh my god..just brilliant.

In case you don't know, there are four guitar solos in this song. The first and third are Mark's, the second and fourth are Myles'. Both chaps trade each other solos like bosses. Glad you found the song. Nice reaction also

That background vocal may include Mark; but it’s obviously layered tracks of Myles …. Love Myles’ range and the juxtaposition of Mark’s harmony lower range vocals. Sounds great and distinctive like no other bands!
