He's my friend from the 70's & he's one of the most humble ppl. That's not his born name. But it's cool. He's from Austin & Waco areas & he's so gifted. I met him @ Village Inn in Market Square downtown
Gaylan Latimer was a co writer on the album & the leader of the group where they played @ Village Inn Pizza parlor in Houston in the 70's when I met him & them
I did not know that... or who he was until recently but I did know his songs. I remember hearing Sailing as a kid, always on the AM radio and Ride Like The Wind I still hear on the radio quite frequently. Good for him, he probably has enough money from his hits to last a few lifetimes.
Always loved Christopher, Sailing ❤️ so special for my Family , my late Uncle loved His Sail boat , when he passed away ❤️ Sailing was Song ❤️ was played for him Thank you nice video 🙂⛵🇺🇲
SiriusXM put a temp channel on their main rotation called Yacht Rock. Christopher Cross was there a lot. The channel did a live concert with him. Mileage varies a lot with live, and his was amazing! I need to download the app to my phone because I enjoyed Yacht Rock a lot!
Saw an interview with Howard Stern where he said this friendship with almost a dad figure - he saw what he missed out on with his own dad and what that relationship could/should have been like. He also explained he had previously given an erroneous explanation for the song - to hide the real pain expressed in the song.
Not easy having a tough alcoholic father. The bloke in the boat sounds like a great mate for him to teach him how to be a man and give him some space to find himself.
I have never been on a sailboat so I don't know if that can do miracles for me. I did however find my tranquility when I was at sea on an aircraft carrier USS Enterprise, we helped start OEF in 01 was first in the area I believe cause we just left the area supposed to be on our way home after a special port call in capetown south Africa but got turned around on 9/11. But I did find my tranquility and it was in the form of waking up getting dressed then make my way to the hangar bay and I would sit at 1 of the elevators watching the dolphins swim in the wake of the ship as the sun was rising. So peaceful even in war time. So this song kinda has special feelings to me. Edit to add: damn it man I just found out he played in bowling green ky about 30 minutes to an hour from me on june 27th this year here ya go th-cam.com/video/73-jBpnwXTs/w-d-xo.html
Great vid on a great album. Music is the language in Heaven. Geppert was slow to my prayers but finally found The Kingdom. Now how About you? Have you found The Cross of Christos? I've been praying for each of you. You especially. You've been the talk of Angels. Great is to be your Salvation. He died for your sin on The Cross, overcame death for you third day and you confess thy sins to Him alone. Be reborn. Become ye passers by. Angel of water 1 cup over head or full Immersion. Baptizm renounce this world arise in Him The Deeper Mystery. The man of Malachi Chpt 3 with Enoch
the canvass, for me, was the sails of the boat. The peace and quiet out on the water. It really does miracles.
I also think the same feeling free sailing in the ocean
This takes me back to middle school, i really loved that time

Nicely done. Tommy Taylor just did an interview saying that mid-recording the record company decided he was going to become “Christopher Cross”

I had never heard the term Yacht Rock until I did the episode.
@@TonyBoyOhBoy It had been unknown to me before listening to the channel.

Fabulous songs all in one Christmas gift, as he mentioned. I miss his sweet voice. Wish I could write a song for him? 💓
I understood the canvas in the song, very well..❤❤
