Can never go wrong with this dynamic duo. JJ "Joe and Jimmy" are always super performers together. Even doing a famous Deep Purple cover "Lazy" 1972, is awesome. Jimmy has the perfect amount of growl in his voice!!

Jimmy was released from hospital about a month ago after heart surgery . . Hes doing well . Had the rest of his tubes etc removed a day or so ago and is doing well . . He loves to cook and has an awesome flower and vege garden . . .
He tryied a song yesturday and all things seem to be working . . . Hes now 67.

Jimmy has been Australia’s no. 1 hard rock singer since the 1970s. You did him once before in your reaction to his duet with Australia’s top no. 1 pop/rock singer John Farnham - the song “Something is Wrong with My Baby”. And you also know Jimmy’s eldest daughter, Mahalia, as she’s one of Joe’s backup singers!
I say hard rock, but it’s really Australia’s homegrown variety of rock, “pub rock”. From Wikipedia: “The Australian version of pub rock incorporates hard rock, blues rock, and/or progressive rock.”

You should check Jimmy out in his younger wilder days. His band Cold Chisel with their live version of Wild Thing from the Last Stand concert. Epic.
Jimmy has a nickname - Barnsey ❤❤❤❤ He is my favourite artist and started in Cold Chisel when he was 16 years old. His solo career started in 1983/84 and he has the most number 1 records in Australia, five of which was with Cold Chisel (who has 2 singers, Jimmy being lead, and their guitarist Ian Moss or Mossy being the other). He is now 67 with a birthday on 28th April. He would normally be touring still but is recovering from his 2nd heart surgery and is not permitted to sing yet until he’s recovered. Get well Jimmy, my favourite artist. PS he posted music everyday during Covid. Such a brilliant man. Number 1 for me.
JImmy Barnes (Barnesey) is a lot of things ... former wild boy, rocker, soul singer, husband and father ... but not lazy. One of the hardest working Oz artists out there
Forgot to mention that Jimmy is mainly a pub rock singer, but he can sing gospel, country, rock, soul and blues like here. He does love rock, the louder and harder the better, if you read his biographies, Working Class Boy and Working Class Man. Some of my favourites from him (and sorry in advance for the long list, but as I’ve said before he’s my favourite artist and I get so excited when people discover him)

One of my You Tube Friends, Dr_Kap has put much time into reworking some older videos. Check out Cold Chisel’s version of Something is Wrong with my Baby. Also consider the version of O Holy Night to see his voice isolated.
Chisel (we shortened a lot of names in Australia) did a concert in 2003. They had actually disbanded in 1983 at the top of their game. Luckily they have done a few concerts since then and this is one of them. Bow River and When the War is over is 2 of their well known hits, but they have so many I love including Forever now (the best live version is from Casey Coopers page with the 1982 Cold Chisel concert in Germany …. Of which the songs are time stamped so if you want to go straight to the song, you can. A letter to Alan on this concert is not something I’ve seen a lot of reviews over, but it is about some members of the bands road show who tragically passed away in a truck accident 😢 and it gets me each time….Breakfast at Sweethearts, Star Hotel, Choir Girl, Khe Sanh (a song about a returned veteran from the Vietnam war), Flame Trees, Cheap Wine, and a little left field, but a song called Misfits about youth homelessness.
Jimmy has so many solo hits but check out Woking Class Man, Driving Wheels, Shutting Down our Town, and I’d Die to be with you tonight.
Duets with INXS - Good times, with Tina Tuna - Simply The Best, with Joe Cocker - Guilty, and so so many more.

Lulu should call out to Jimmy. Another reactor who got into Jimmy had the pleasure of Jimmy contacting him to tell him he loved his reactions. Jimmy's brother in law, Johnny Diesel, who is also an accomplished rock singer, also got in touch but Jimmy is currently recovering from heart surgery. I've been watching your reactions for a while now but i've finally subscribed now you've found Jimmy. You Southern girls are like us Aussies...you will love him. Its a big rabbit hole, as it also includes his band, Cold Chisel, who are in my top 3 music artists.
This is one of the first between Joe & Jimmy followed later by Stone Cold. Jimmys daughter Mahalia became one of Joes backup singers after this. She does a solo on Riding with Kings. More recently she had her own single Nasty Girl produced by Joe. All worth a review.
Jimmy and Joe Bonamassa have collaborated a few times for me the best is the song Stone Cold by Jimmy Barnes featuring Joe Bonamassa. You might also be interested to know that Joe has also collaborated several times with Jimmy Barnes's daughter, Mahalia Barnes. She has that old time blues and Soul sound. Why oh why have I not known about these 2 super talented people before now? I mean, I will be 60 in May! & I adore music from the 60s 70s & 80s, & I listen to it a lot. I'm just speechless. Joe's best collaboration with Jimmy Barnes is, by far, on the song Stone Cold.
The first guitar solo after the lyrics started was the other guitarist in the video who is the rhythm guitarist for aerosmith.. The bass player who was joes main bass player for the bigger blues concerts is Michael Rhodes. R.i.p. he recently passed away. He was a incredibly well known session bassist and has played on numerous albums of loads of different musical artists. ❤😊 the drummer is antone fig who played drums on the late show with david Letterman. Hes been joes drummer since 2014-2015

Yes this isn’t the best introduction to the legend that is Jimmy Barnes. Many American reactors are only now discovering Jimmy and his former band Cold Chisel. They have said he is arguably the best male soul singer alive today. He has a vocal arrange that up to an A5 (see his performance of O Holy Night - Acapella version) and has vocal grit and growl on par with Otis Redding and Tina Turner (see his cover of A Change is Gonna Come and also Simply the Best with Tina). Cold Chisel are a whole other level of brilliance having been described as writing some of the best lyrics in music history, every band member can write and sing they’re insane. Check out Bow River- Ringside 2003 version. This is what you call real music.

There was a blues performer who went by the name Lazy Lester, and there were others who used Lazy as part of their name, so no harm, no foul. Joe was called "Smokin Joe" in his teens.
Here's my suggestion, the song is called "STOP" live from the Royal Albert Hall. th-cam.com/video/b-69Djk5HdQ/w-d-xo.html This 2009 concert really pushed Joe into the spotlight. I could suggest any song from this concert, but this is the first time I heard of Joe when I watched this video in 2011.
