NIGHTMARE JOB 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ ( 2018 ford s max discs pads & electric caliper replacement )

The job started out fine initially replacing the discs and pads , the process involved putting the vehicles braking system into maintenance mode to wind the caliper pistons back, it became apparent when fitting the new items that the near side rear caliper piston wasn't back far enough , unfortunately when the machine is in maintenance mode no other setting can be selected so I was unable to command it to wind back further. under closer inspection after removal it became clear that the caliper had jammed and there was too much resistance when I manually put wires onto the connections at my bench. I managed to get it working and freed up. car drove fine on 10 mile test run , customer got the car back however they made contact after 2 days to inform me the brake service light had came on on day 1 and went away, day 2 the warning came back and the handbrake had self selected when they were at the lights and handbrake would not release. After resetting ignition it was fine . I wasn't taking any risks ans told them to bring it to me immediately for diagnosis. Diagnostics findings was that the caliper piston inner bearing had collapsed inside. New caliper ordered and the work was carried out to Completion. I lost half of the recordings for this video due to the sd card becoming corrupted and I needed to format it . the process of my content wasn't exactly straight forward and is not reccomended to anyone attempting this repair without an adequate machine to command the vehicles system and to cancel warning lights after repair is complete. just glad there was a successful outcome . customer has the vehicle back 4 days so far with no issues .
