I picked up one of these for my 20 inch HB B14R. Super easy to install and makes all the difference in how the bolt feels. Works so good I had to buy a second one for my 18 inch HMR B14R. Shipping from Eric Cortina was super fast.
Please make a video of disassembly of a B14 centerfire bolt. Much different than a B14R. I have not found one video of how to disassemble a centerfire B14 bolt.
Great video and explanation of the bolt. Have a B 14 6.5 creed, and a 6.5 PRC, is the disassemble the same on that bolt, and your shroud replacement is for ??? Enjoyed watching your video, some with great views of what your doing, understanding and your explanation of what your doing also, Well done again.
The shroud fits the rimfire and centerfire B14. if your rotate the shroud clockwise to the bolt to get it out of the detent you can fit a thin Allen wrench through the hole from the side and it'll hold the firing pin back while unscrewing the firing pin assembly.
Have you come across any of the new CVA Cascade rifles? It's basically a Bergara B14 with some corners cut to drop the cost down to about $500. Shoots great! Same rear bolt design with all the same issues, but in a single piece 3-lug: heavy lift due to too stiff of a spring, sloppy shroud, and detent is rough. Also has some ejector issues -- it leaves ejector swipes on everything, even my snap caps! Interested in taking a look?
Definitely interested in checking it out. I've seen them while in Walmart but haven't had any in the shop yet. We've only tested the shroud on one Bergara short action so far, so I can't guarantee it'll fit all Bergaras because of tolerance stacking. We also don't have a replacement spring for the centerfire rifles just the rimfire. Feel free to email me at either email in the description.
We designed the Bolt shroud because we didn't like how much slop the bolt had in it before it started primary extraction while the spring reduces the pull coming up from a fired case. We have a second video up that shows the difference.

In the rimfire the shroud takes out most of the bolt slop and the spring makes it easier to lift the bolt from a fired chamber. In the centerfire rifles we've had several people with larger rounds in cold weather have the factory shrouds crack or shatter because they are injected metal where ours is CNC out of steel round stock.

I can tell you that taking the shroud off is the same. I just did it this morning referencing this video.

Does the lighter spring make the bolt action easier to move? And does the spring lighten the fire pin strike?
It reduces the bolt lift from a fired case, and it does lighten the strike but not enough to cause light strikes.

We currently do not, we do have a machine company that will be making them for us over there in Australia.

I did this upgrade and now the bolt won’t go in far enough to see if the shroud needs any taken off. What could I have messed up?
Try backing off the shroud one rotation top see if that fixes the issue, if not call us and we will try to find where the problem lies.
Does this kit make actuating the bolt, easier?
Yes it does from a fired case.
Why do u want to reduce the weight of the striker spring?
So that it is easier to come up from a fired case.
Is the shroud available for centerfire? 300 Win Mag to be specific.
Sorry for the late response, yes the shrouds will work on all B-14 rifles rimfire and centerfire.
