- I got to train with the combat sports legend and one of the best Muay Thai fighters ever, Saenchai!

It was an unreal experience to be able to train with the greatest muay thai fighter of all time. I learned SO many useful techniques and tactics from him and I'm excited to work them into my own training sessions.
Besides his incredible footwork, hip dexterity, speed and power, Saenchai also has such an amazing, intangible energy to him that's hard to describe. He's fun, easy going, and super silly... but he'll absolutely crush you with a huge smile on his face :)

If by he "didn't achieve too much" you mean competition/fight record wise, then yeah but Bruce Lee isn't famous for that type of thing anyway. But just for the record, Chuck Norris (a multiple time Karate champion who fights at middleweight) even said that Bruce (a featherweight, 141lb, without cutting weight) would beat him in a fight.
I love Yip Man but let's be honest here, almost nobody would know who Yip Man was and Yip Man wouldn't have had so many films/become so famous if it wasn't for Bruce Lee. Lee is the reason we know about Yip Man.

The gracies are the parents of mma. Bruce Lee was the first one to get the fundamental idea that in order to be effective you should take everything effective from all martial arts and throw away the bullshit. But he didn't affect the founding of mma at all

Saenchai has a very unique roundhouse , he is much faster then the other people but he is still able to maintain his power .
I'm curious to know what he said about the technique?
Mohul Srivastava I’m pretty sure he said something about controlling your leg when it falls. Instead of kicking and bringing your leg straight down, which is easy to catch and sweep, he probably told him to kick and bring it up and then down. However this is only a speculation.

Man, I just returned from one month in Thailand doing some sessions at Diamond. The Thais focus so much on balance, speed and easy flow. I see the same in Saenchai his movement. It's all about easy, easy, easy. That's the biggest thing I learned. Awesome you uploaded this video, so great to see you doing this session with him! Most of the best fighters have close to 200 fights. As a youth, they might have had several fights a month. They don't need to do hard sparring because they have way more real fight experience, so their sparring training is extremely light to avoid injury.
We need to be flexible, Asian are very flexible in quick reaction sports such as Table Tennis. Maybe by learning Yoga might will help a great deal.
What month did you go? I was in Om noi from April to May...it was brutal. I live in Texas and I thought the heat was bad...Thailand is a different level of heat! Ting tong! I love it though, just don't stop or give up!!! Even when your done with bag work, sparring and you have 500 knees/situps to finish ha ha ha. After going to Thailand I realize how soft my life has been

Dude that was such an awesome experience! I bet you must have been pretty star struck. Also, I was very impressed by the amount of respect and humility you showed to Saen when yall sparred, alot of people in that position would have tried to "show him up" and went too hard. You didnt go hard at all and kind of let him dictate the flow of the sparring which was very honorable on your part.

Your sparring was great man. It is dificult to be in "the respect" zone. Becuase you can be too agressive or too pasive also. Like you dont want to give the impresion that 1. You think you can beat him or hurt him with your technique if you go harder. Or 2. That you are not taking this shit seriously, like you are not willing to take what he is teaching.

By far the highlight of my trip to Bangkok was visiting the Yokkao gym for a drop-in class and seeing the legend in person. It was surrreal seeing the guy just chillin with his phone, legs up on a table, knowing full well what he's capable of.

PS: I think question mark kick is the most dangerous especially for grapplers like me that are trying to catch the kick(in mma)

It’s been a bit, but just came it across this video. Very awesome! I really like the technique where instead of going all the way through the kick, you stop yourself just before your back is fully turned to ensure you have enough time to square back up and defend.
