I know this was posted years ago, and that you probably won't see this, but this is one of the most beautiful covers I've ever heard, please never stop playing
1:54 Please remedy my confusion And thrust me back to the day 2:11 The silence of your seclusion Brings night into all you say 2:27 Pull me down again And guide me into pain 2:51 I'm counting nocturnal hours Drowned visions in haunted sleep 3:07 Faint flickering of your powers Leaks out to show what you keep 3:23 Pull me down again And guide me into Ah ah ah Ah ah ah Ah ah ah Ah ah ah 4:37 There is failure inside This test I can't persist Kept back by the enigma No criterias demanded here Deadly patterns made my wreath Prosperous in your ways Pale ghost in the corner Pouring a caress on your shoulder 5:31 Puzzled by shrewd innocence Runs a thick tide beneath Ushered into inner graves Nails bleeding from the struggle 5:45 It is the end for the weak at heart Always the same A lullaby for the ones who've lost all Reeling inside My gleaming eye in your necklace reflects Stare of primal regrets You turn your back and you walk away Never again 6:24 Spiralling to the ground below Like autumn leaves left in the wake to fade away Waking up to your sound again And lapse into the ways of misery
This is absolutely beautiful! I have no idea how you managed to condense a song this layered and complex into a single acoustic guitar arrangement while retaining the atmospheric nature of the song, but it's amazing. You definitely pulled me in.
@NaPo7 Maybe I'm not quite as affected by the loss of the bassline as I'm a guitarist and I tend to be listening for the main riffs and melody more than anything else. However, losing some information is pretty much inevitable when you're condensing three instruments' parts into one (rhythm guitar, lead guitar and bass), so I don't think it's fair to criticise it this harshly because it didn't meet your expectations (which are understandably high, considering the caliber of this song).
Just came here after stumbling upon your Tool covers, which are immensely entertaining in their own right. There must be some who agree that Opeth is just another level of difficulty. The way in which you combine and highlight certain parts of the compositions is incredible. I hope you are able to earn a living from this, because talent this unique and original needs to be encouraged and rewarded appropriately. Subscribed!
@@gigisonishvili5281 I just saw Ackerfeldt in a concert last weekend where he complimented DT in the most funny way. I guess they are all friends in the industry. :)
@@bleeddieagony they don't really have much spare time to be "all friends in the industry". but opeth and dt did some interviews together, listen to each other's music, and at least once played a live together
@@bleeddieagony in the amiba interview he said "Dream Theater, they're friends of mine" so, they are friends (he also seemed really proud when he said that)
So in the "Right in Two" video, I saw the Opeth shirt, and I thought to myself, "As soon as this video is over, I'm heading over to his channel to see if he did any Opeth covers." Lo & behold, here is one in all of its might & majesty! You earned my sub less than a minute into the first one, but this one earned my heart! Can't wait to check out your original material when it's not five in the morning!!
Wow great arrangement of this song. That's cool how you included the vocal lines towards the beginning of the song. I also like how you blended parts from both guitarists so it can be played by one person. Very cool!
They way he captures the full essence of the band with just an acoustic guitar, and to do it so flawlessly, felt like I was listening to the actual song itself for the first time again.
Ernesto, I can play this on guitar, but my god your rendition is the most amazing thing ever! I love how you do the vocals on your guitar! 3:21-4:00 or so sounds great! Love this
Combining multiple guitars and vocals into a single unit is difficult enough. How you managed to do it for such a complex song is beyond me. This was one of the most beautiful things I even listened to.
Amazing! This song sounds just as beautiful and haunting on acoustic as it does in the recording. You are extremely talented, my friend. Looking forward to the Tabs!
I liked instantly. I’ve only seen a few of Ernesto’s covers, but I understand his style and I know the song well enough to realize how majestic this will be.
This officially takes second place for best single instrument rearrangement I've ever heard with the first being Agosti's arrangement of The Firebird suite for piano... Bravo!
Ernesto, I'm not even a fan of Opeth, but of course I enjoy watching what you can do with a guitar. Probably won't ever buy an Opeth album unless it's "Ernesto Covers Opeth". Thanks Again for sharing!
One of the best composite pieces i have ever. You are very good at guitar. You not have done the correct tuning, yet you do every part, including vocals on one guitar. Please do more opeth covers, I recommend Harvest.
I'm glad the camera has different shots. If it were all one camera angle, I'd be checking to see when it would end. I wish this song had a few more riffs and a bit less strumming.
You blewed my mind. This is the best arrangement out there for this song. I know how to play leads and solo on electric guitar but this... this is just amazing. I hope for tabs for this one, as my skills are not high enough to bring it from hearing. Cheers!
Ernesto schnack: ok lets make a masterpiece out of a masterpiece
I know this was posted years ago, and that you probably won't see this, but this is one of the most beautiful covers I've ever heard, please never stop playing
A year later, four years after its originally been published, I also just discovered this video. What a way to start 2020...
@@Keltar25 And what kept us going through 2020...
Ernesto Schnack, the only snack you need!
Thanks!
you compiled the rhythm and lead parts, the bass line and even the vocal line into one instrument, that's wonderful !
Holy shit, I can't believe how well you arranged this on guitar.
You nailed that part starting at 6:16. I need tabs for this.
A blackwater park cover would be awesome, just like this
Woooooow... Am blown
Opeth are real masters of composition and this dude just played every note of THIS song immaculately!!
Great job 👏🏼👏🏼
1:54 Please remedy my confusion
And thrust me back to the day
2:11 The silence of your seclusion
Brings night into all you say
2:27 Pull me down again
And guide me into pain
2:51 I'm counting nocturnal hours
Drowned visions in haunted sleep
3:07 Faint flickering of your powers
Leaks out to show what you keep
3:23 Pull me down again
And guide me into
Ah ah ah
Ah ah ah
Ah ah ah
Ah ah ah
4:37 There is failure inside
This test I can't persist
Kept back by the enigma
No criterias demanded here
Deadly patterns made my wreath
Prosperous in your ways
Pale ghost in the corner
Pouring a caress on your shoulder
5:31 Puzzled by shrewd innocence
Runs a thick tide beneath
Ushered into inner graves
Nails bleeding from the struggle
5:45 It is the end for the weak at heart
Always the same
A lullaby for the ones who've lost all
Reeling inside
My gleaming eye in your necklace reflects
Stare of primal regrets
You turn your back and you walk away
Never again
6:24 Spiralling to the ground below
Like autumn leaves left in the wake to fade away
Waking up to your sound again
And lapse into the ways of misery
Thank you

You can’t get much more metal than this on an acoustic guitar...
You should do Black Rose Immortal!! Awesome job!!
The only man can play lead guitars, rhythm guitars, and vocals at the same time
Is it even possible to play AND sing this song? This is the most wonderful cover of The Drapery Falls ever. Hats off to you, my brother!
Petrucci likes Opeth, nice 😉😉😉😉.
He does really like Opeth, i read an interview when he said that.

The beauty of classical guitar technique

I really loved this cover. Want to hear more solo acoustic guitar covers :D

Thank you for listening!
Beeeautiful, that was heavenly to listen to
Perfect!

Fantastic cover! Spot on.
AMAZING!
That was sick. So fucking brilliant. Thanks for sharing dude, made my day.
Absolutely great! You found the way to play more complex than original. Well done , really

gracias por hacer un tema de Opeth!
