When I was an impressionable midshipman in the Royal Danish Navy our small arms instructor loved to make us feel useless by hitting the targets repeatedly at 200m. We were collectivly in awe with this CPO. Only a few years later - when we were all lieutenants did he tell just how much he had practiced and that he could only do it on days with no wind. Excellent pistol, small mag though.
Greetings from Thailand. I received this gun from my grandfather when he passed away in 1993. I don't shoot so I kept it away in the safe deposit. Today I ran into the license for this gun while I was sorting the storage so I tried searching for it in youtube. Dear god, I felt so dumb to find out how rare it is. Gonna go grab it tomorrow, thank my deceased grandfather and smack myself senseless for being such an idiot. Thank you for your review of the gun!
I saw a new one for sale in the early 70's at my local gun store when I was in engineering college. It was priced at $400US. It was that or an HP35 scientific calculator. I got the HP35. I did buy another P210 a quarter century later but it cost more than 4 times as much by then. Fantastic Swiss craftsmanship.
I can tell you one terrible secret: it's not so extraordinary pistol like they say. You can find in youtube a video " sad storry about CZ- 52". That chech guy tells in english the storry of development of cz-52. One of the " intermidiate" pistol for chech army that time had accuracy much better than sig- p 210. It was also a browning tipe pistol, and swiss specialists from SIG, who were invited to see that experimemtal chehoslovac pistol were shoked of its accuracy on the paper target. But,finally, chech authoryties decided to adopt cz52 with roller locking system in cal. 7,62*25 TOKArev.
@@alexandruborodin755 I bought a CZ-52 because of its unique locking system. It was a Czech surplus gun. It was not as precisely machined as the P210, but I still like it. It cost 10 times less than the SIG; great value.
I saw that. There's no way it will be as nice as this original model. Sig has gone downhill a bit lately. As it is I love the blued finish above all others. I've been looking for a blued CZ75
i am from switzerland, own a p210 and it's my absolute favourit. the old army grips (your grips) aren't that comfortable but more of a colectors piece. i got some new nill grips and they fit perfektly. (just an idea if you wanna check that out) my usual training distance is 25m and most of the shots are in a 4'' radius, with some exeptions naturaly. thank you for reviewing this legendary gun, spread the word. greetings from switzerland
I think we should rename the "american" and "european" mag release. Heel mag releases were used in alot of early US autos, and European guns like the Luger more or less introduced the "US" mag release. Also, the IPSC world shoot was won once with one of these, back in the height of the singel stack 1911 era.
This was a pistol that I read about in the early 80's and have wanted one eer since. A military contractor was in an African country(I don't remember which) as an instructor for their police/park rangers to help them with anti poaching operations and he was limited by law to only carrying a pistol and he choose this because it was the most accurate servise pistol made. They were attacked by poachers with AKs and he dropped an attacker at 100 yds with the 210 he said the pistol saved his life.
I bought a Sig (no Sauer), P210, with 3 slides, and 5 barrels. I got a .22LR slide and barrel, 9x19mm Para barrel, .30 cal luger, and 9x18 Makarov barrel, and a 7.62x25 Tokarev barrel. The German Masterwerks 210s are nice, but mine is a true Swiss oddity. Accuracy with every chambering is excellent, but the Tokarev seems rather special. Sphinx is another Swiss gun of excellence.
You can also purchase a beavertail for this gun as well. There are two kinds available from Rocco's with screw and without screw. I have also installed the adjustable sights on mine.
I tried one once, and loved it. Beautiful gun. Didnt think it was possible to be that accurate with a gun very first time trying one. The old style sights are another big reason it's more accurate. 3 dot sights are made for fast target acquisition, not accuracy. As for the slide release, Europeans don't like using them to unlock. They consider it a lock, and to unlock it, they always rack it. The safety is an absolute must with a single action that anyone would think of carrying. Trigger is much to light. It's not a Glock.
The P210 has no stamped parts. Everything is machined. It was still in service in the Danish army in the early 90's. I would not be surprised if some Officers or NCO's still carry it. Regards
hammer bite isn't just uncomfortable, my Colt Commander actually chewed the web of my hand to the point that i'd bleed, not alot but enough to spatter the back of the slide, hammer and grip safety.
I paid a little less for my house. Very, very cool that you own one. They are top shelf pistols. Thanks for posting this, you did a great video on this.
What ammunition brands, models, and grain weights do you find most accurate in this gun for both FMJ rounds (the main ammo type I'd use in these because I would get it for a range/plinking, novelty gun like you) and JHPs (in case it had to be pressed into service for defense)? Oh, btw, the Beretta you compared the Sig P210 with for size, was that a model 92 (the forerunner of the 92SB and 92f/FS, or a model 92FS you just put smooth wooden grips on? I saw those smooth, wooden grips and thought "wow, you don't see many 92s).
@LifeSizePotato: Thanks for this articulate review. I've been been lusting after these for a couple years. What do you consider a good price on a P210-1 in similar condition to your sample?
Here is some bonus info... It's still in use in the danish army, and we use them in afghanistan aswel, it's the service pistol for every danish soldier except the millitary police and special forces.
Hey LifeSizePotato great video! I know you only like doing rare guns and I'm not sure if this one would be rare enough for you but, if you get a chance you think you could do a review of the walther p38? I would really like to hear what you think about the gun. THanks and keep up the good videos!
Awesome pistol, I just love it. (Still waiting for a metal Airsoft GBB version) It would be better, if the mag. release slide isn't a half square. I saw one where it had a modified one, and with the foot of the mag, the owner just pulled it and changed mags mutch more quickly. Kinda specnaz style. Anyway, a good bakelite or bone grip is a must-have piece, and a modified trigger is also a good way to improve your performance.
Hi - just for information's sake, you probably already know it by now: The P210-1 was also an Army service pistol, much like the P210-2. The P210-1 was just the first variation / first batch orderd by the Armed Forces, and the P210-2 was then the second batch / second variation. As you note, the P210-1 was polished (they called it "feingeschlichtet"), and it is more scarce than the P210-2. Of course some of these pistols were also sold to the private market, and yours seems to be one of these because it has a production number starting with "P" (like "Privat") and not "A" (like "Armee").
+Stona Raptor you can pick them up for 1500 or so 3000 is in mint condition not much wear I have a p210 serial number 937 from what I have found the gun I own is a prototype mad in 1947
Hi there, very nice video, I have one too. Btw, its sighted in NOT at 50 yards... 50 METERS Sir. All or most Euro guns are presighted to 25 meters (27 yards).
hi, i have never seen this on a police officer, most of them carry sigs but mostly the new variations. awesome video though, greetings from germany, country of the awesome guns but awefull gunlaws ;) (dont get me wrong, i like the fact that we have such little crime here and i think that its better that most people have no guns here, BUT i would like to be able to collect beautifull pieces like this...)
I have an old p210-5 (slightly longer barell) and I have to say it is the greatest pistol I have ever shot with :) the trigger is like a swiss clock=PERFECT they are easy to adjust to your liking and the same for the gun itself is without comparison :) I have had mine for almost 6 years now and I have never ever had a malfunction with it but two that was because of bad ammunition and nothing related with the gun it self :) abit expensive but worth every penny!
That's depending on the caliber used.... ;) I can change the barrel and the recoil spring to switch from 9mm Para to 7,65mm Para. Or I can change the whole slide (including barrel and recoil spring) and the magazine to use any kind of .22l.r. ammunition.
You want to modify the trigger on a SIG P210 to improve its performance? :-D Dude you have obviously never shot a 210 did you? The trigger is so crisp there is nothing to improve!
I get my extra gun money from scraping and Craigslist jobs. I have a ford van with a trailer I haul scrap metal with, about $100 per run. An extra $500 a week helps alot.
Hi there nice gun, I own one myself. I just notice that in your video you let yours lying around with mag inside and security off ? That's a bit below standard, I think
It’s called a safety not a security. I’d like to mention a couple more things: first of all, the gun was shown to be unloaded numerous times and second, you cannot be harmed by a negligent discharge through your computer screen.

Shot Show 2016! Sig Sauer announced that they're bringing this back!
I would like this to be my first pistol purchase.
I saw that. There's no way it will be as nice as this original model. Sig has gone downhill a bit lately. As it is I love the blued finish above all others. I've been looking for a blued CZ75
Still not available for order from Sig, seven months after the announcement. I gave up on them and bought a P210-4 instead.
i'm swiss,i have a P.49 (210-2) with black grips and i'm very proud and satisfied
SIG Sauer is not SIG.

One of the sweetest shooting pistols ever made! I need to get one.
Sir, thank you for all the shooting and review videos of these interesting, uncommon firearms.

Believe it or not - we still use this gun in the Danish military outside the special forces and our military police. That pinch is a real bitch :)
Gasp! Reviewing the 210 Legend before the original P210, I half expected some sort of Sig-fan revolt haha. Great vid as always.
Thanks for making this video! It's very difficult to contain my jealousy! Absolutely gorgeous machine!
It's still the Danish standard.

a real jewel of mechanics, a pure happiness
If I was a movie badass classy assassin, this would be my sidearm.

norwegianwiking I have permanetly scarred my webbing because I like shooting the 210 so much.
Carried one as a danish soldier in Iraq in 2017. They just got replaced with the sig p320.
Thanks for sharing, your collection is awesome.
the slide release is in front for safety reason, so you have to move the index finger away from the trigger
thank you, always wondered and finally a good answer. cheers
I've meant the shape of the metal piece, not the internal system.
Yes, thats brilliant and works like dream! :)
I paid a little less for my house. Very, very cool that you own one. They are top shelf pistols.

Rolex oyster in gun version...
no, at least patek
Cz 75: poor man's P210

Pour quelle raison présentez-vous une arme dont et le cran de sureté n'est pas activé ?
Awesome pistol, I just love it.

@hjfeldt Bruger i dem specielt meget, eller er de kun til nødstilfælde?
The closest I'll come is my CZ75B. It shoots so amazingly well I couldn't imagine this
The front sight is a hook
Does the magazine hold nine cartridges as you said?
VicariousReality7 8 plus 1.
which is more accurate? Xseries or P210
Vic C. Jr. I have found P210 to be most accurate
sig themselves say the 210 surpasses the x5 and x6
Any experience you care to share, if you have any yet, on the American made Sig P210?
The most accurate mil-surplus handgun i have ever owned.
have you seen the new rhino in 40 sw and 38 spl introed at shot show today?
hey I have a rare7.62x25 sig handgun do you know wre i can find at least 5 clips for it 1 is not enough
TROOPSOFODIN88 I found mine on gunbroker.com. About $100 to $140 each.
Magnificent piece.
CZ75B is another alternative if you cannot afford the P210.
We still have as army pistol here in Denmark
I can inform you that this very gun used to belong to the Swedish home guard. It was produced 1967.
use the heel mag release
to help index rather than
hindering insertion
How much do 210s go for?

how expensive are they in the US ? greetings from Switzerland
oO what?
holy shit.
+Stona Raptor you can pick them up for 1500 or so 3000 is in mint condition not much wear I have a p210 serial number 937 from what I have found the gun I own is a prototype mad in 1947
From $3000 to $5000. Even the Legends.
I bought two for $2400 each. Imported from Germany to the US. See prices much higher on gunbroker.com
i use a neuhausen p210 in competition her in Sweden! excellent gun!
+++++
Lyder fornuftigt at vi stadig har Neuhausen i udrustningen.
Hi there, very nice video, I have one too. Btw, its sighted in NOT at 50 yards... 50 METERS Sir.
All or most Euro guns are presighted to 25 meters (27 yards).
1975 - 1949 = 26
I'm almost 40..who would know..
Ever acquire a Berdelli?
Yeah... we still use them in The Dainsh Army...
It is amazing to shoot, really reliable!
Sounds like THE most accurate self loading milsurp pistol from what I'm reading.
What do you do for work to afford all these super expensive hand guns? I hope im not too rude, im just jealous!
hi, i have never seen this on a police officer, most of them carry sigs but mostly the new variations. awesome video though, greetings from germany, country of the awesome guns but awefull gunlaws ;) (dont get me wrong, i like the fact that we have such little crime here and i think that its better that most people have no guns here, BUT i would like to be able to collect beautifull pieces like this...)
These are being produced in the USA.
TROOPSOFODIN88, whats a clip? ;)
Very cool gun!
Haha, perhaps. Personally, I think the FMK 9C1 looks really close to the Deus Ex pistol.
hmm the trigger looks very strange to me haha. in my head i also envision it being mushy, hopefully i will get t handle one for myself one day:)
I have an old p210-5 (slightly longer barell) and I have to say it is the greatest pistol I have ever shot with :) the trigger is like a swiss clock=PERFECT they are easy to adjust to your liking and the same for the gun itself is without comparison :) I have had mine for almost 6 years now and I have never ever had a malfunction with it but two that was because of bad ammunition and nothing related with the gun it self :) abit expensive but worth every penny!
best trigger I have found super clean pull breaks easy
I still prefer a 1911 trigger, but this is second place.
is it powerful? :)
That's depending on the caliber used.... ;)
I can change the barrel and the recoil spring
to switch from 9mm Para to 7,65mm Para.
Or I can change the whole slide (including barrel and recoil spring)
and the magazine to use any kind of .22l.r. ammunition.
I actually thought that it was only in Denmark we called it Neuhasen!
- and in the Royal Danish Air Force as well;-)
You can get cheaper. Sig is manufacturing it again for the "modest" cost of $2.2k.
Now they are selling for $1500.
That's because they are MIA for the US market.. In Europe they are 3K EURO!
About how much did you pay
1949 to 1975 is 26 years.
Cannot use this pistol with winter gloves, the trigger-guard is way too small.
Numrich part number 889110. Sold out atm.
beautiful!
nice video man. thanks for the sub!
Good video, but calm down with the zoom. :P
Micheal Caine uses one he took from a goon in get carter.
Berndelli I think.
I found one, but not certain the price is worth it
camera's focus was lost many times
sorry I feel like a tool after that last post, I wish they still made those, they look great.
true lol i cant find them anywhere lol
Obisbo EDC Testing I had to import mine from Germany.

Have you seen the Forgotten Weapons video on the prototype for this?th-cam.com/video/jB3OCTxbGR4/w-d-xo.html
Hi there
nice gun, I own one myself.
I just notice that in your video you let yours lying around with mag inside and security off ? That's a bit below standard, I think
You would freak out with me. I carry with a round chambered in my HK P7 PSP. Never had an accidental discarge in 20 years.
It’s called a safety not a security. I’d like to mention a couple more things: first of all, the gun was shown to be unloaded numerous times and second, you cannot be harmed by a negligent discharge through your computer screen.
oh my gosh, im the first everything, here is my chance, nice pistol
the best.-
all danish soldiers in afghan carry this
Super video. Next video hold your hands out of video.
1949-1975 your math is a little off isn't it?
Oh, how I envy you
P210
they cost a Lot!
Sooo jelly.
More like 2k+.
